I'd argue for the first four gens being unique enough across all of the 'mons. 5 was bootleg Gen 1 poogeymens with a few stand outs, like goddamn Volcarona and Victini. 6 and 7 had a few good ones like Dhemise and Salazzle but most just felt like they tried too hard to not be an existing thing and just felt weird or otherwise out of place.

Yeah that's pretty much what I think for the most part too. I tried to be not so hard on the nostalgia though, there are some standouts like Dragalge in the newer gens.

More with regards to their typings. They wanted things available earlier in the games so a lot of stuff in the first half of the game has odd typings for the areas and it makes their entire design feel out of place, like they don't match the geography or feel like a creature that would be there.

I know a few people with autism. One is non-functioning and the other two are mid-range.
When I saw that number yesterday, I knew that it had to be made in such a way that it took into account some people couldn't even function enough to take the test. Those people definitely wouldn't fit in their results range so there had to be a limit in the functioning range.

a more obvious place to see this in action is for example eyebrows
