I had a cool dream where I was cleaning out my room way back in my original household, and it was odd because I was pulling out all these empty cans and bottles from drawers under my bed.
But, here and there I was finding old, unopened cans and occasional bottles with vodka and stuff still in them so while I was cleaning I was downing all the alcohol I found.

it was a cellular AI simulator where you could program simple genes and also let the game run wild and develop mutations, you could pit the bots against each other, they had official leagues of eliminations and stuff too.
So it was open ended, you could write the most voracious predators who'd propegate so fast that you'd have a viral cloud of carnivores that destroy everything, or it was sophisticated enough that you could write an 'ant' bot that used pheromone chemicals to alert other bots where the location of food was; and the location of the 'queen', so worker bots could keep returning to the queen to make her fat.
I had a circle of big fat soldier bots circling the queen to protect her from threats, and they received workers' food and shat it out at the queen, so the queen lived a very long time.
They could dominate a map with very sparse food supply by having a new 'queen' set up a nest beside one, and chew it up and start sending out workers..
whereas a short-lived, high-reproductive bot wouldn't stand a chance in such an environment and quickly die out unless it found food.

I also programmed an 'ettin' bot that was a simple two-celled individual who had two heads facing opposite directions, and gene calls to be able to switch the 'lead' head when it discovered food or an enemy, so it could move either way and be efficient through communication so both cells would try to move together; one forwards and one backwards, but be able to shift focus on the fly.
