Bikes aren't super complicated at all.
any of the moving parts should just be checked out once in a while, washed out with WD-40 to remove water and dirt, and given some fresh grease before being put back together and tighened up (but not too tight! just-right tight!)
other than stepping hard on the rim to try to bend it back, usually it's not really worth it to keep a rim 'alive' especially if it's a cheap shitty rim, if it's wonky and wobbling you may as well buy a new one, bottom end is not expensive and it will last you for years. once a rim is fucked up, it's usually not even worth it to correct it.
You can, by taking the tire and tube off, and screwing the individual pots for each spoke where they come to the rim.. but this is tiresome and precision work.
most people who are like bmx'ers just stomp the rim back into shape and run it until it breaks further.

If it's garbage, buy a new rim, it'll last for a while.
I actually didn't consider you might have a decent road bike, so- if you do have some rather expensive rims, may as well take it to a shop to tune, like your dad said, for barely any money.
I know how to do it myself but it's so annoying and time consuming, but a professional probably does rims all the time and can whip through it like it's nothing. I just personally wouldn't want to calibrate a rim because of the precision involved.

Well I knew it was a Specialized Vegas TRX, so that was temporary for the douchebike because it was such a piece of shit I had to make it an even more outstanding piece of shit until I went and fixed everything, completely replaced the crank and crank bearings, pedals, and neck bearings while I was at it.
wheel bearings were all good, just cleaned and regreased everything, stripped the paint off the entire thing and redid it.

I like hillbombing and putting my weight over the front and drifting, leaving 50 foot long tread marks.
well mostly hill bombing bike trails where it's like a half lane of pavement right, but you get speed and cut it like Initial D and get the front tire right inside and drag the ass all the way.
also on a tabletop I invented a 'dead stall', I drop the entire bike over sideways, with one foot still on the top side, one hand on the bar, and bring it 'back to life' upright and roll back out...
I also used to do dirt jumps so if I line up anything with a good takeoff and landing zone I'll hit it..
but I can't do manuals.

bmx drift is basically getting your hips on the handlebars and getting the weight balance where you can hold the brakes down but there's very little friction left on the back wheel so it just hums as you slide it around, and you use it as a control rudder when you're over the front wheel.
I mean, I don't want to burn all the rubber off the tire, and I also want to go as far as possible, so it's a controlled brake slide where I'm right over the front wheel.
I learned how to do it on sheer ice puddles in Ontario, you can whip a bike around on ice if you have your weight over the front tire.

I later moved my style to spring thaw and used gravel on sidewalks as a loose agent to throw my bike around.
I've gotten so good at it now that I can do it on flat asphalt without any control trouble.
One day I want to get a GoPro and show everyone how I can hillbomb a BMX at top speed and break into a 90 degree turn with the back end loose.

I slide the back tire up at the top, and stop the bike, lean it over on one side.
I'm standing on top of it now, grab the handlebar, step on the pedal (it's in the lower position) and put my weight on the tip of the pedal, pull the bike up from the ground and shift my weight backwards as it comes up so I can pop it back down the ramp aiming the front tire down first with the one hand but grabbing it, and it's like mounting the bike as it comes up- one foot's already on but when I 'drop' it, I have to lift off the other pedal and I put my foot on the seat like I've conquered it.

Depends. My bike doesn't idle very well until it is warm, so I have to give it a little gas to warm it up. I also give a quick rev just before the light turns to pick up the rpms and make my take off easier. Otherwise it tends to hick-up.

I would practice stalls on the tabletop that we had in the park, they made a trapezoid thingy out of concrete, and also a setup area too...
the funny thing is I found a line on the steep area and I would dirt-jump it and land it, even though it was asphalt, I don't think anyone else had ever seen it in that light becuase it needed a huge run-up
but it was a legit line lol, I was never a street rider but I can jump shit if I have a ramp and a landing ;)
