Let's post anime that are far more quality that they deserve to and talk about what could have gone wrong with them and why exactly they are good.

>Shimoneta

It's an unfinished light novel adaptation with a plot focusing on porn and a dogshit first episode. You might think this is a road to a at best below medicore fanservice anime, and yet Shimoneta is actually geniuently funny due to some actually really good jokes in the later episodes as well as surprisingly smart with a message that is a bit more than just going against censorship. Shimoneta actually explores the ideas of someone destroying the fun and lives of others because they believe themselves to be righteous and pridefuly push forward without even thinking about the consequences. It explores what a society could be created if it was cut off from sex, pointing to the fact that young people with no idea of sex would probably be emotionaly unhealthy as they wouldn't be able to develop emotional bonds in the correct manner, mistaking lust for love and so on and so forth. This show actually has some scary implications when you think about them in a slightly deeper manner, exploring government censorship, populace control and doing it in an incredibly accesible manner by pushing it all in a guise of a light hearted comedy that only gets more serious when actually serious topics are discussed. The only bigger flaws I can see is that the first episode is not that great and that the anime doesn't finish the material that is shown in the light novels. That being said though, the ending gives enough closure for that to not be a problem.

It was fun, but the censoring was especially annoying with that one, i also hate puritan MCs with every fiber of my being

Don't remind me anon.

>>80608

That doesn't even sound like a bad thing, it's just that the anime is more slice of life focused. What makes Yakitate!! Ja-pan good in your opinion anon?

>>80616

I wat to fuck Ayame.

>>80660

Completely honestly, the censoring hilariously only served to prove the show's point and it is incredibly ironic that an anti-censorship anime got censored. And the MC might have been a generic puritian but that's more because of how comedy is constructed in the show, he was the only sane man of the show surrounded by a bunch of insane people, slowly realizing that the insane people have a point. Mocking him and putting him in silly situations is the point of the joke.
