What bothers me isn't that racism is banned, it's how awful these people are as human beings. I've never been to Japan, I never will unfortunately, I'm a NEET. But the language they use in that thread genuinely makes me feel shit. There are ways of expressing things without being mean. Ironically the guy bringing up rapist nigerians / turks was far more polite than in his previous post "If someone says they're an English teacher I instantly think of them as a lowlife." or any of the other dozen people circlejerking about just how bad Americans are. Personally I'd think should be no Americans in Japan, but you can say something like that without being awful. Some trackers probably do, but most from what I've seen either don't care or care much more about what you can offer in terms of uploads and seed retention, or your reputation on other trackers. At least when I applied to AB back when I even said explicitly in their application form I'm not interested in the community, and they still let me in. What you're referring to has always existed in forum culture regardless of being attached to trackers or anything like that though. Lots of shitty forum-based communities will lock areas behind a wall that has to be passed with sucking up to the staff, or donations.
