>What is it?
Manga about mecha and lewd antics
>Wait, I know that author!
Matsumoto Drill Kenkyujo does hentai. A lot of uncensored hentai. In fact, this manga is a sequel of sorts to another series with the very same premise, called Konohana. Turns out in that series he cranked lewdness up to 11 and got it cancelled for that. I couldn't find raws of it though. Another magazine picked him up, and although it's advertised as a sequel, this one has a separate story with different characters. Sharing only the premise and setting. So it probably won't be a problem.
>Are you gonna translate all of it?
We'll see about that. If all it has going for it is smut, then no. Plenty of porn out there already. If the characters are endearing, and if it manages to be the action comedy featuring mecha and tits I expect it to be, then I'll keep doing it.
>So the author toned down on the smut for this one?
I skimmed through some pages, and it is very, VERY lewd. So the madman probably pushed it over the line with his last series. This is pretty old too. Status is "ongoing" and I found 9 special volumes of it (which is already a lot). So who knows how things will turn out in the future?
This is probably also the only place you'll ever read this shit. As it hasn't been picked up by any other group.

errata
Pg10, second to last bubble
Once again I messed up the passive form of a verb. In this case "To fly away". I should have been more sceptical of how specific her advice sounded to me. It actually reads:
>The wind is very strong outside.
>Since you're going, make sure the curtain tied to the big cherry tree doesn't fly away then.

Some translation suggestions.
>>54471
Panel 2:
>荘厳桜という二本の木が寄り添ってまるで一本に見える桜だ
While 荘厳 does mean "impressive", it's being used like a name here (similar to names like "Grand Hotel"). Since it gets used later on in that fashion, consider translating it like:
<Called the Grand Tree, its two intertwined trunks look like one.
>最近何かの雑誌に紹介されたとかで見物人が来るようになちゃったので紅白の幕を張って見物人がその場所以外に立ち入らないようにしている
The grammar is pretty knotty here. "Recently because some magazine introduced it, (最近何かの雑誌に紹介されたとかで) it seems a lot of visitors [will be] coming, (見物人が来るようになちゃったので) so we put up a red-white curtain (紅白の幕を張って) so that visitors won't enter any other place. (見物人がその場所以外に立ち入らないようにしている)"
That's a huge mess. Cleaning it up turns out something like:
<We've been getting a lot of visitors ever since some magazine mentioned it, so it's been surrounded by a red-white curtain to keep them in that area.
>>54524
The pig's name is ぽーく, or Pork.
>>55482
For panel 2, consider "Playing in the mountains again?" instead of "More playtime?" to maintain the 山 in 山あそび .
>>55687
A small bubble missed on panel 3 just says やだ. While literally "nope", it's a refusal to the previous line, so instead of
>Don't commercialize your brother!!
switching it up to
<Stop selling pictures of your brother!!
with a follow-up
<Nope
would flow better.
>>66494
In panel 4, since the "soft 白子" refers to his limp penis, it'd probably be best to go with the standard mushroom joke (which also vaguely fits with "sprout") for reader comprehension.
<What a soft mushroom (heart)
For Ch1pg8 panel 3, the line about "extreme broadcast" is a direct reference to the previews of Neon Genesis Evangelion, where they'd promise lots of "service, service!" (fanservice, meaning panty shots and the like). I'd translate this similar to how was done back then to keep the reference, as
<Next week there'll be plenty of service!
For panel 5, the handwriting says こんな感じ!, so I'd go with the simple "like this!" The following line uses いやらしい to imply that his talk of "big, strong, tough" things sounds perverted. I'd go with
<Sounds like you're talking about porn…
and the side text as
<Don't end up like that kind of adult.
>>66704
Ch1pg9 panel 3, the robot is called a 0二式, or Type 02, which is another Evangelion joke.
<It must be the Type 02 Humanoid Tank then. Awesome!
>>66779
Just a note that Ch1pg13 panel 4 would read as
<But my sisters told me to go check on the Grand Tree
if you choose to adopt the term.

Thanks, those are all very helpful. I still haven't found that sweet spot between trying to include every idea a sentence has (and thus ending with a clunky translation) and an interpreted translation (and missing stuff like "mountain" and etc)
>reference to the previews of Neon Genesis Evangelion
I'd never have guessed then.
<Don't end up like that kind of adult.
Also good, but: I understand that ならん is an abreviation to ならない (makes more sense thanならんで that the dictionary sugested) but what's with でいい then?
<It must be the Type 02 Humanoid Tank then. Awesome!
Fugg I even forgot that 0ニ bit, I was gonna ask for help on that too. Thanks.
I'll probably do a couple more pages today then. Now I'm pumped to try more of this.

He calls her Chiduru nee-san. I held back on the honorific, for now, because their relationship isn't entirelly known (I mean to me, I haven't translated anything about that yet) but I'm guessing they're not related, and nee-chan is being used as a lingo for "older girl". So to avoid making it seem like she's his sister, I'll hold back on nee-san for now.

In general, English readers seem to prefer the Hepburn "zu" over the Nihon-Shiki "du" for names like Chiduru/Chizuru, mainly because they end up overemphasizing the "d" (so "du" sounds like "due").

Referring to it as a "Tree of Marriage" is very awkward so it does make sense to write the implied statement instead, but much like "Grand Tree" and "Shougon Tree" it might end up getting used a lot later. Maybe future pages will clear that up.

I thought so too and checked ahead, it doesn't seem to be the case (at least there's no mention of showing of a cellphone or anything of the sort)
And I think "going" in this case refers to peeing. So she's saying she should have gone earlier. This wouldn't be a problem if "ahead" and "earlier" weren't the same word.
> is that really "love"?
yeah, I agree this is more like it. I wen't with "saying 'I love you' " because of the quotation marks he used, but there are no quotation particles there, so it threw me off.

Here's an update about that robot's name.
タヂカラオ (Tadikarao) returns nothing other than a character in a barafaggotry game. Yep you read that right. Looking into it I found out that that's an alternate way of writing タジカラオ (Tajikarao), like an intentional typo that switches ヂ and ジ (different letters, but in japanese they have the same sound, di=ji, but ヂ(di) is seldom used).
What the fuck is Tajikarao, then? Well now that I know how to write it correctly, wikipedia has an answer.
>Ame-no-tajikarao (アメノタジカラオ) is a Japanese deity (kami) who appears in Japanese mythology. Ame-no-tajikarao is written as 天手力男神 in Kojiki, and 天手力雄神 in Nihon Shoki.

「田舎モン」is a slangy version of 田舎者 , which politely means "country person" but is really an insult like "country bumpkin" or "hick". So something like
"This is why I really really REALLY HATE HICKS!"
pg36
"La Vie en Rose" is the name of an old French song that became permanently tied to giant robot history when it was used as the name of a story-significant mobile manufacturing plant in Zeta Gundam. It also has a general feeling of classy European-ness and has been used as a name in previous anime (mostly as a joke though, in Di Gi Charat). In the end it's meant to be an obviously fake European name that is a reference to giant robots.

Thanks m8. Searching for references of that song in japanese showed me that this is another name "mistyped", as the original is supposed to be spelled ラヴィアンローズ, which makes sense now.
For those who don't know kana, japanese doesn't have a native sound for "V", they can write it down however, in this case vi=ヴィ, but the colloquial pronunciation uses the consonant "B" instead, and bi=ビ.

"Aahh, well… she's pretty, and looks like she has a lot going for her, but nope."
イロイロあったっぽい literally means "has various things" but is probably a reference to her having a great body, so I tried to refer to that.

>千鶴も…苦労するなぁ…
"Chizuru's… got it tough too…."
I'm reading the sentence as a casual form of「千鶴も苦労してる」. The なぁ remains that ineffable suffix that lots of people complain about translating.
http://www.jgram.org/pages/viewOne.php?tagE=naa
>>69769
As for the handwritten part, it looks like
>編集さんもな
which could be several things:
1. "The editors have it tough too" if we read the kanji like you wrote + さん to make it refer to the editors as people, with も referring to the previous 苦労する. It would then be a joke, referring to how the manga is pushing not-porn boundaries and giving the editors trouble.
2. "X-san has it tough too" if it turns out the kanji refer to someone else in the story that also has the hots for Ryo. If this is true, either we haven't met them yet or I forgot the name from earlier.
In my opinion you got the kanji right and it's #1 (a throwaway gag), but like you said earlier, it's hard to read handwriting sometimes.

Yeah that's what I tried to do too. But that seems like a better way of phrasing it.
>"Chizuru's… got it tough too…."
Wouldn't that require a passive form of that verb? I interpreted it as "Chizuru is doing trouble too", because she sees Chizuru as a rival.
>As for the handwritten
That first interpretation is probably the correct one. I forgot about the context of this manga, I even wrote it down on the OP. It's most likely a reference to how troublesome the previous series was.

>Wouldn't that require a passive form of that verb? I interpreted it as "Chizuru is doing trouble too", because she sees Chizuru as a rival.
苦労する is used more for having trouble than causing it. Here are some example sentences:
http://www.romajidesu.com/dictionary/meaning-of-%E8%8B%A6%E5%8A%B4%E3%81%99%E3%82%8B.html
https://hinative.com/en-US/questions/813616
It seems the meaning of 苦労する went from simply "working hard" to "having a lot of trouble thanks to working hard". The common use of ご苦労さま generally implies the person had it rough thanks to doing something.

IMO the right bubble is basically half a sentence, with the rest heavily implied. To break it down,
"Nice… but(へーしかし) since you're going to town (これから都会にいくのに), even if you're riding this… (これに乗れてもなぁ)"
It reads like Ryotaro is implying that there's no point in riding such a slow tractor into town. Maybe something like
"I see… but are you going to ride this all the way into town…?"
>いーんだよ!これは野望の第一歩ってヤツさ
ってヤツ is being used like "that sort of thing" rather than referring to a person.
"It's fine! It's the first step of my ambitions, sorta thing."

"Ni shi shi" is indeed a laugh, sort of a mix between laughing and snickering.
棒 is a shortened version of 棒読み, or "monotone reading". Because it sounds like someone tepidly reading from a script, it comes off as sarcasm (he doesn't actually mean what he says). You're right that Ryo is making fun of Kiyao, but unfortunately there's no easy way to show sarcasm. Perhaps
"Yeah, real kind of you there."
though that comes off a bit harsh.

Indeed, it's a half-assed excuse. 「好きなモンが出来る」 is "to be able to (have) someone/thing to love", or in other words, "to (be able to) fall in love". The sentence would thus go something like

"I put it in the storehouse after I used it last time."

>子供の頃父さんにはいつもここに近づくなっていわれてたしー
"When I was a kid (子供の頃), dad would always (父さんにはいつも) tell me not to go near there (ここに近づくなっていわれてたしー)"
The use of ここ implies that the father was in the storehouse and was telling Ryotarou not to go near "here", but I'm not sure how to get all that across.
>僕の父さんは10年前…いなくなった
"Ten years ago… my father passed away."
いなくなる is literally "disappeared" but is a common euphemism for death. I would go with "passed away" since that's used the same way in English.

Got all the pages we did so far organized in a single document, with all the corrections made. There are a couple notes about SFX there. My personal stance on it is that I don't care that much about SFX (unless when they are not real sfx, and instead are supposed to convey some sort of meaning, like an emotion or something)

Also, the 降着ポーズ handwritten part outside page 34's panel 4 is a reference to Armored Trooper Votoms- specifically, the pose in pics related. It's a position for the pilot to enter/exit the vehicle from the ground, so it's referring to panel 1.
I don't really know if there's a way to translate this.

TN: no specific mention of ンク or ソク in the dictionary, but I'm guessing he's playing with his own little trooper. And no idea about ホニト (left side in the last bubble) the only thing that came up was number counting (5th, 4th, 7th)

I can't really read the first bubble either. 「〇一からK〇来てます」 is all I can get. The second one looks like 「いそぎですって」 which works out.
page 3 panel 6
The second part of the rightmost bubble has a proverb in it, 「立つ鳥跡を濁さず」, which basically means "clean up when you leave". The closest English proverb I can think of is "Cleanliness is next to Godliness" but that's pretty far off.

Applying that to this and the next bubble in the panel, it would literally be "Regarding the way I was called 'cute', that is the cute used when dealing with children", or to clean it up:
"He called me 'cute', huh…"
"He meant it in the way you say it to kids…."

"When it's this hot out (こうも暑いと), it really does seem like unusual weather…(ホント異常気象と思うわねー)"

>住人の人にはよく伝えてあるから仲良くね
Kaede is using には and ーてある as well as the self-contained phrase 仲良く so the sentence got tricky.
"I often speak (よく伝えてある) to the residents there (住人の人には) so get along well, okay? (から仲良くね)"
Whether 住人 refers to one person or several is unknown.

And some info on the ーてある form:
https://www.imabi.net/tearu.htm
pg 12 panel 2
>コキ放題?
The handwritten portion in the bubble (and Kaede's hand motion) clears up what she means by "it"- コキ refers to 手コキ, or male masturbation.
"Rub it out?"
<ワクワク
The handwritten portion outside the bubble indicates excitement. ワク is synonymous and often paired with ドキ, so the sound of a heartbeat would work.

>あ でも 女の子をつれ込み放題でもあるわけよね

panel 4
>ナニでしょ?
Nitpicking but maybe "What indeed?" would flow better from the previous line.
>あらカメラ奪って…ハメ取り?
「ハメ取り」 is slang for taking pictures of sex.
"Ara, you snatched the camera… you'll be photographing this?"
I switched it to "you" because that tiny picture makes it hard to tell if she's talking about her now-nude sister or Ryotarou.

>あーソレはイロイロ大切なモノ失うねっ
Fucking 切な is a weird word. Most entries it has have a negative conotation. 大切な人 is positive, but only applied to people, so I ended using "parting with trouble" rather than "parting with important things"
>今肝心なトコでわざと話切ったろ!!
Context really is everything in japanese. Without some sort of negative word I wouldn't guess that he meant "stopped talking".

By the way, those two girls that appear on pg17 are from the previous, cancelled, story. Konohana.
Description(from Mangadex)
Mankind faces its toughest threat at the hands of mysterious alien invaders while revolutionaries go wild across the Earth and the planet's only hope of survival is a giant perverted robot and the two lesbian girls that pilot it.
The series was cancelled due to conflicts between the author and the editors of Champion Red Ichigo, but was continued with a different main cast as Kono Yo wo Hana ni Suru Tame ni in a different magazine.

Champion Red publishes Jinrouki Winvurga, which features a ton of nudity, rape, and giant robots in an oppressive despotic future, what could they have possibly had against this series?

ニッポンシュ refers to 日本酒 (にほんしゅ), which is what the Japanese call sake ("sake" is a general term for liquor in Japan). サイコー is 最高, "best/awesome". Which turns into:
"Ah ha ha!! Sake and sakura are the best!!"

>what could they have possibly had against this series?
I wanna know that so bad! Skimming through some pages from later volumes of this one, there are some crazy sex scenes not implied sex, literal sex that borderline an h-doujin. Like, "foggy censored penis goes into low-on-details vagina". He must have gone overboard in his nervous series somehow.
>Consider: "Is this also fate…?"
I almost went with "relatives" but that would be too specific, and settled for "connections". But I'm gonna go with"fate" then, it's less likely we'll fuck up that way.
>Is this chick even Japanese??
Doesn't seem like it. That's probably why she speaks in katakana.

I'm not certain on this (couldn't find proof via search), but I believe the ニコニコ的 Ririn mentions refers to broadcast requirements on Nico Nico Douga. Maybe edit it to:
"Ah ha ha! Everything is safe-safe for broadcast, since I'm wearing my pasties!"

アウアウ is short for アウトアウト (Out-Out), which uses baseball terms to contrast Ririn's "safe-safe".

Welcome back!
page 2 panel 4
>発電器だな エンジン回して電気作るんだ
Here, 回す literally means "rotate" (and also means "reuse") but is used the way English speakers say an engine "runs".
"Hmm? That's a generator. The engine runs to make electricity."
page 2 panel 5
>ほいカステラ 一個おまけしちゃうよ
There is a bonus, but this refers to getting one extra as a bonus.
"Here's your castella cake. I gave you one extra as a bonus."
page 3 panel 3
This entire panel is a dumb joke so the context is pretty out there. The term for "exposure" is 陳列 (ちんれつ), and the crime is 陳列罪. Auntie is a pervert so she immediately thinks ちん/チン refers to ちんちん or ちんぽ, which of course means penis. She pauses between ちん and れつ to make this joke. The handwritten part follows up with "but these are boobs" (パイ, from おっぱい), meant to be a contrast to チン.
La Vie en Rose then says "don't stop for a moment (いったん, or 一旦) after saying 'chin'! Also, cover those up!"
None of this will translate at all so one option would be to stick in a similar joke. Something like: Auntie: "Indickcent exposure?" "But these are boobs…"
La Vie en Rose: "InDEcent! And cover those up!"
>>78179
page 4 panel 1
>そういう勘違いされるような事言うなああ
"DON'T SAY IT IN A WAY PEOPLE WILL MISUNDERSTAND!"
page 4 panel 2
The four bits of handwritten parts go as follows:
>死ぬな
>死ぬと
>ねるぞ
>逆…
The first three are a reference to the saying "寝るな!寝ると死ぬぞ" ("Don't sleep! If you sleep, you'll die!") which is said to people freezing to death. Amu reverses the sleeping and dying, so Ryotaro says "逆" or "reverse".
"Don't die!"
"If you die"
"you'll sleep!"
"That's reversed…"
>>78180
page 7 panel 2
>ツンデレ!?
>おまえ意味わかっていってねーだろ
"You, (おまえ) you didn't (ねー) say that while knowing what it means (意味わかっていって), did you (だろ)."
Ryotaro says "tsundere" in an attempt to finish his thinking about how La Vie en Rose is cute, but in a way different from his sister/Chizuru. Kiyao wonders if he said the term without knowing what it meant.
"…a tsundere!?"
"Dude, you don't know what that means, do you."

Another chapter finished, and the end of the first volume. I'll turn to the next chapter of World of Moral reversal next, before coming back to this title in the future.

The things I only consider after uploading something in a rush
くそおおおおお while technically meaning SHIIIIIT might be better translated as "DAMN IT!", unless we're going for a more ethnic dialect.

Looks good to me. Only issue is if you want to translate "Nekota-hanchou" or not, personally I'm cool with it as-is.

Regarding curses, some people believe Japanese should never be translated with curses, others disagree. Generally I'm on the disagree side, contextually and personality-wise there are plenty of times a Japanese person is clearly "cursing" in the Western sense.
Specifically (as in, this instance) I'm okay with it since I don't think it goes against her character or the context: she has a very aggressive personality and she's losing in a fight for her life. Whatever you're comfortable with.

I usually prefer literal translations for curses too. It's just that pic related came to mind.
And hanchou has been bothering me too. I like translating honorifics because it gives a feel for the relationship between the characters better than "miss" and etc do.
But hanchou isn't really a honorific (unless maybe we were talking about high schoolers in a gang, but even then it could be replaced by boss without any loss). So I'll probably translate it in the final doc, for an eventual typesetting.
Thanks for helping too. I hope you'll stick around.

Here's a document collecting all the translations done for the first volume
I've finally organized all the corrections, and put them all in a single file.
Note to self, for future documents: remember to zeropad the numbers for chapters and pages, makes ctr+f a lot easier.
