NOTES ON THE TRANSLATION PROCESS
I wanted to bring up a few things about our characters and the way they speak. Japanese has interesting features that english (or any language I know of, really) can't replicate entirelly. Casual speak includes contractions, as expected, but also different sentence-ending particles that are used to convey the way something is being said, or the general intent of the speaker. That being said, our girls each have their own mannerisms that I tried to capture in the translation.
Torako
Speaks formally all the time with proper grammar, only exceptions being when speaking to her brother and during the accident
Bullet
Is second to Torako in normalcy. She uses casual contractions and expressions, but otherwise speaks pretty normally.
Takano
Is a bit more casual than Bullet, using more contractions, and cursing a lot
Enma
Her speech is considerably different from the others. She mispronounces words, often her kanji includes furigana (little letters over the kanji, telling us how she's pronouncing them differently) otherwise we probably might have some trouble figuring her out
Suzume
Has the most broken speech of them all, finishing all her sentences in " jya", "jyai" or some other particle used for emphasis. I think the effect they were going for was to give her a "tryhard" feeling? Like she had the most altered speech to compensate for her… hum… everything.

It's more a matter of using the way of speaking that is most suitable to the context (e.g. talking to friends vs family vs strangers vs your boss). The Japanese language has a distinction between a plain way of speaking and a polite way, which mainly comes through in sentence endings. The plain style is used between family and close friends and from a superior to an inferior, and the polite style is used between strangers and from an inferior to a superior (It's basically a way for the speaker to show respect to the listener). In addition to that there are also the honorific and humble ways of speaking which are about showing respect to particular people, not necessarily the listener. The speaker uses humble language for his own actions and for his own relatives (when speaking to someone outside his family). The speaker uses honorific language for other people (and their actions) such as when a service staff member is talking to or about a customer. These two distinctions can vary independently. On top of all of this, there are differences in how men and women speak, mainly in the exclamations like "wa", "ne", "yo", "zo", or "ze", and in how they ask questions. Then there are all the contractions used in casual speech.
It's exaggerated in manga. You could make a girl use "yo" and "ze" a lot to communicate that she's a real tomboy, or have a character end all of their sentences in the polite way even when they're among friends to show that they're stilted and awkward.
