I figured this was a problem among fellow autists so I figured I'd create a thread and enlist some help or help others, and for others to help each other out.

Sometimes there's specific subs or fansubs that do things differently, small or big and you just prefer them for some reason but now you're having trouble finding them.

In my case, I'm having some difficulty finding either a sub or fansub (probably the latter but I can't remember) for TTGL where they used the term "Ganmen" for the mechs instead of "Gunmen". It was the first sub I ever watched and it feels wrong without that, and who knows what other differences are in the newer ones that I don't want to deal with. The word "gunmen" just sterilizes and makes them sound so much gayer and lamer in my eyes, but I digress. I just want help finding it.

For others who have similar issues, feel free to request or help out anons in this thread.

The AniDB pages have a list of translations and which teams did them. Here's the one for gurren Lagann: https://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4575

The only problem is that some teams only distributed their releases privately.

>tfw you realise that none of the currently available subs for TTGL use the expression "believe in the me that believes in you"

Thanks, this should be of some use. I doubt the version I saw was a privately released one so its probably one on the list.

I hope you're joking anon. That makes me want to vomit if its true.

Its been years since I watched ttgl, do you know which episode and/or part of an episode he said it in? I'll use that as a test to see whether the sub is shit or not

When will they release English dub of Oreimo?

Try animetosho, it allows you to download subtitles (attachments) separately from the show. You'll have to trial and error it out though. But it should be faster than downloading the actual episodes. Alternatively change the subtitles yourself. Use the replace function for Gunman > Ganmen, shouldn't take you more than a second per episode.

He might have said it in the first episode even, when he urges his mates including Simon to keep digging.
