A long long time ago I drew a bit with pencil and paper.
A long time ago I did some oekaki and some drawings in Paint Shop Pro, I wanted to see how I drew but lost those files as well as animu and other rare isos
Some 2-3 years ago I did some drawings in Gimp, but it was terribad and the tools aren't great for that either.
The more important part: About a year ago I tried azpainter since I heard it was Sai lite and it clicked and I drew about 1 drawing per week, then some event happened and "forced" me to draw faster for a bit and I realized that I have a kind of good feeling with lines since it looked better than usual: meaning I spent too much time on something and missing the overall look.
And some 2 months ago I noticed limitations with transparency and layers and I started to use Krita.
tl;dr: Just fucking draw, there's a process to discover. And I'm still in that process.

I put together the Aghama from Zeta Gundam a few months back and really enjoyed it. I picked it up because I got an amazing deal on the coated version or I would have skipped it. I'm thinking of picking up a Musai when I have some room on my desk. The barrels on this make me worry about stripping it. They're a bit flimsy.
