I started going to the gym to become /fit/ and I've been adding music to listen to while becoming strong; currently it's mainly vidya OST like Yakuza 0's but I've been adding OSTs recently, such as HxH's and also everything GALNERYUS has done. I was wondering if anybody else in /animu/ is getting /fit/ and if they have some recommendations.

Going to the gym for the first time recently, instead of training at home. Quite nice, but overtrained pull-ups. Still sore four days later.

I usually do pullups and pushups prior to going to the gym and abs afterwards before I go to beds. I overtrained my abs the first day I started and it felt like someone took a sledgehammer to my gut, but now it's not so bad. Just make sure you eat your boiled eggs.

Why listen to anime music when you can listen to literally anything else? You can't even understand the lyrics.

Not understanding the lyrics is the best part. One of my worst disappointments as a teenager was understanding the lyrics of Rock and metal songs since I've learnt English.

Or you can listen to this derivative crap from a no-budget show only enjoyed by spics. But I'm not here to tell you how to live your life. Just making fun of it.

It's from the movie, which is the only thing DBS I've watched so I can't comment on the series, but I thought the movie was good. What is the music derivative of?

The problem is Toei shows not just the budget, they're also poorly paced and censored. No love goes in to their creation. But having standards means you're not a true anime fan after all.

If you're serious about this music isn't the way to go. You need to find some good podcasts that can keep you distracted while you're doing things. Musics best use in exercise is for timing. Set up songs so you know what to do when each plays to keep your work out stable. When a fast song plays you increase speed, when a slow one places you ease off, that sort of thing.
Don't fall for the body builder meme either. Lifting heavy shit is all well and good but it's not a healthy life style. The majority of your exercise should be things like walking and jogging in the open air. It's not going to make you into the autistic hulk you're wanting to masturbate but it'll put you in a much better mental space and be physically healthier. Shutting yourself in a small box and lifting heavy things will fuck up your mental health pretty quickly, but greenery will put you in a better head space. If you have a dog, dogs will walk til you drop so take your dog with you for walks every week (also a chick magnet since we know you're a virgin).
Music wise, don't pick MANLY BADASS COOL music, it'll make you do stupid things. You get all pumped and you're ready to lift that extra heavy thing, then you blow your back out because you weren't ready for it. You want music like the embedded, a steady beat with enough music to mentally follow but not enough to manipulate your mental state. Your goal to better fitness isn't a sprint, it's a long journey of repetitive movement. It's why dance music is popular with artists, the same steady beat is good for focusing your mind and getting a job done. High impact sexual violence music is supposed to be a short term thrill not a constant.

>no high intensity cardio
>no heavy lifting
>advises against music of any kind
>recommends walking and jogging, the worst forms of cardio
forget this crap OP, the number one killer of exercise programmes is lack of results. What you want is HIIT and you want to listen to EDM/j-core/hardcore/etc while doing it. Yeah it's hard but it takes very little time out of your day, greatly improves your health and you know what? You'll keep coming back to it because you'll enjoy the feeling of strength and vigor it gives you, and for the feeling of youth the music gives you. For a long time I fell for the light-moderate cardio meme and kept falling off of it for lack of results, but HIIT under high resistance on an elliptical or rower keeps bringing me back.
Cardio is the most important part of your programme since that is where all the metabolic energy for lifting is going to come from. To begin with pick a few useful lifts, I do dumbell press, pull-ups, weighted lunges and side-raises but I know I'm leaving core work out, visit /fit/ for real lifting stuff.
Strength is the one, true god of this world. Endurance training will never make you strong, and studies are showing it actually makes you weaker long-term. There are no limits, except there are but you're not stupid enough to exceed them.
