Nana to Kaoru
Kaoru is an outcast sadist BDSMfreak who used to be best friends with the current student body president and all around perfect student Nana. Unlike most BDSM manga the characters are actually nice and care about each other and it's a relatively realistic approach to how BDSM works. MC starts off as a little bitch but actually improves as the series goes on.
Gets a bit tiresome when a love triangle is introduced but I would definitely say it's worth the read.

Because adaptations do not need to exist. I never said any particular one was bad, just that I wouldn't read one based on a novel. I don't watch movies based on novels either. Bebop isn't like the manga at all. It's an anime original. I also feel like an anime can only improve upon manga material given whereas a novel can only be bastardized by making it into a motion picture whereas a manga can basically be copied panel for panel, you'd have a harder time translating words into visuals. I do read plenty of manga based on anime originals though.

I generally give my mangos 1 volume unless I don't like the setting to begin with. TOday was an exception for me, I started basara, which I had downloaded for months and kept putting off due to its art style, and decided to give it ago.
Minor annoyances aside the manga was ok so I was planning to keep running, but after second half of the volume the heroine has a boy meets girl encounter inhot springs, it seems she has no experience with love and end up falling for the guy (but refuses him) while the guy feels charmed by her, this is annoying by itself considering at this point the heroine's main drive is revenge, but after a few more pages we learn the guy is the red king, her enemy, the one who tried to kill her and killed her brother and father (neither of them realized each other was their enemy) so I dropped it like a sack of potatoes, fuck that shit.

Netflix picked it up. That's all the reason you need. The first few pages are wasted on telling what is simultaneously being showed in the most mundane fashion possible: "huh, what is happening to me, could it be, a shipwreck? what is this I am feeling, is it, water? What is that bright light? The moon?" etc.
Then two guys come up to her and rape her. But then they stop (?) nothing really happens. There's I believe also a gay guy that can't help but sexually harass the other dude that just raped the girl but not really. And it's full with boring forced dialogue and it's just awful.
But it won some prestigious manga award. So you know I'm probably just missing out on the real memorable moments 7 Seeds has to offer. I'm sure adapting the entire thing with 12 episodes may shed some light on things.
