Where I live there's no ABDL diapers. The best brand I can get is Tena, but it is hard to find, I have to go to big stores to get it.
The usual drugstores just have cheaper brands. They get the job done, but I can never relax wearing them, if I flood, they leak and I'm talking about the one for heavy incontinence, meant to used for the whole night.

We don't have any ABDL diapers around here either. If I want some, I gotta order them over the internet. Even getting hands on some Tena is hard, as the only ones sold normally are Tena Pants, which are alright but not exactly worth it.
That generic drug store brand I tried was called Duchesse or something. a 10-pack is around 9 euros here, they are tape diapers and hold an entire wetting, sometimes even two wettings, no problem. Though they are only one size, meaning they are quite big as a M/L size.

I think the reason for nursing homes to use such shitty diapers is because as soon as the some elderly feels he's wet, he asks to be changed.
I have an incontinent grandfather and he hates diapers with his guts. I can't generalize, but I think the feeling is mutual among many of the elderly/patients.
So, having a great diaper with lots of padding would provide a net negative.

Grandmas without dementia are rather relaxed when it comes to diapers, grandpas are most of the time stuck-up.
I doubt anyone would prefer sitting in his/her wet clothes or sleeping in a wet bed.

Most of these diapers leak after one wetting, even if you are going out of your way trying not to. How is that useful to anyone? I have worked within nursing homes and I have seen the amount of soiled laundry.
Can you try answering all my points before attacking my motivation for asking the question(as perceived by you) for the sake of winning an argument?
I don't think old people would enjoy sitting in diapers longer. I think they should be changed as soons as they soil - but more sap keeps dampness of the skin and prevent rashes. These people are bedbound for most of the day. If anyone should be wearing a bigger diaper, it's them.
