I exaggerated my problems. I am a bedwetter, and have very little warning that I need to go during the day, so for a while I just said fuck it and wore all the time. My parents both knew I had warning issues and they were really understanding.

Besides being fun, it was actually great to not have to worry about not making it to the bathroom on time, and I really probably should wear all the time still.

I only did it once, but I was too much of a wenie to wet for diapers.

I've did it when i was 18 yr old, wet the bed and showed it to my mom, told her its happening for some time and asked for diapers, she bought them for me the same day.

Growing up I had a lot of messy "accidents" but stopped after my mom threatened me with diapers.

Another time while at the hospital with my new Mommy, I went and asked one of the nurses if they had any protective undergarments and the nurse in this ghetto ass voice was like "you mean a diaper? you need a diaper? " eventually she came back with 2 of those shitty blue medical diapers and walked away. Not a terrible experience, and I got 2 diapers out of it.

I wet the bed for a week straight, my parents didn't say anything about it and I chickened out after a week, I wonder how close I was to goodnites?

I frequently thought about wetting the bed intentionally when I was about 11 or 12, but never had the nerve to actually go through with it. Eventually I wound up having an actual accident one night and chickened out after that.

I'm not super proud of it, but I started wetting my bed on purpose when I was like 15. I'd never had bladder issues at all before that, so my parents were more perplexed than anything at first, and I ended up wrecking my mattress pretty well before mom gave in and got me GoodNites and then, when those leaked, Depends.

At that point, my dumb teenage brain figured that 1) hey, I'd already committed to it this far, and 2) committing had *worked*, so I started faking daytime accidents shortly after that. I'll give myself points for being sneaky about it: I made a big deal of smuggling my wet pants to the wash at first, so that when I finally got caught I didn't have to fake being flustered. Then, I worked up to a couple of big, semi-public accidents: I remember one was in the car on the way home from visiting family and the other was in the middle of the grocery store near our house. After that, GoodNites turned into my regular underwear for a good while.

To that extent, the whole thing went off with flying colors. My mom 100% thought I was a bedwetter and continued to buy night diapers for me well into college. On the other hand, I also ended up seeing a shrink about it after the daytime "accidents," once our family doctor not-very-subtly told my mom he thought it might be a "behavioral" issue. And it definitely strained my relationships with my parents and siblings and stressed me out a lot in the process.

So…I dunno. Older me knows it was a really self-centered thing to do, but I can't really say for sure I wouldn't do it again if given the chance.

i had something similar… except i have legit accidents. mom is pretty sure it's anxiety related. very embarrassing and isolating to go through it. i'm doing a bit better now though

I did it three years ago because of a suggestion from a psychatrist i visit in this time.

I have to say it was one of the bedt decisions i ever made. 90% of this last 3 years i was wearing diapers. The last 5 months i throw away my underware and now i'm constantly in diapers and wotking my way to actual diaper dependence.

My gf was always ok with it and most of my friends also know. My doctors and random people who discovered it belief i just have issues.

My life has become much better in this years. Three years ago i was a depressed looser and now i'm quite successfull in my new job which i really love. I've finished university with very good grades and i'm financialy secure. I'm more calm and much more self confident.

I stick to bedwetting because I know I’d get tired of faking day accidents. It’s too much. I’m more than happy with my current setup, ie being reminded to get dressed for bed by my parents. The best is when I’m in the family room for a movie and I’m crinkling under my pajamas. That doesn’t happen often, though.

Eh, I still don't know for sure how far my mom bought the daytime wetting, really. My shrink was the only one who knew for sure that it was at least partly faked, and I'm like 98% confident that she never told my mother. And my mom's at least seen clues that I wear 24/7 now since and has barely batted an eyelid–tbh, if I'd moved back in after uni, I probably would have doubled down on saying I'd kept having daytime issues.

I did probably need to commit to it a lot more fully than I was ready to at the time, though, and it definitely produced a whole different level of tension at home than just bedwetting.

I found the twelve-month program for incontinence [1] online at around 11 or 12, and I just said fuck it and decided to feign incontinence, with the end hope of eventual, actual incontinence. I looked up medical literature and tried to create a reasonable narrative of the development of incontinence (occasional accidents with frequent toilet breaks, became more frequent accidents, then public accidents, then bowel troubles which became more frequent, etc.).

I planned it all out before hand, to the micro level, which was fortunate since both mum and dad were medical doctors–so it had to look real. It did take a lot of work and a lot of public accidents in order to spur on some action–at first, mum and dad just preferred to pretend it wasn't real, or it was just a normal part of adolescence, or whatever. I also had to deal with the medical red-tape (for example, I had to deal with things like timed toilet breaks, medicine which just made me piss even more often, frequent conversations with a dietitian, and all that crap–I had to have public and awkward accidents up through that period, until I was 'prescribed' diapers).

I've never spoken about it before since it's all so emotional to me–at that age and period I had depression, and there was lots of additional trouble between mum and dad. It stressed mum out that her son 'suffered incontinence', but it did help her forget about her personal troubles (mental illness) and let she and her husband focus on more than just their mutual antagonism. I still think about it a lot, as it was an emotional time for me and mum and dad. It's such a broad topic with such broad implications, I just find it hard to sum up in a neat manner, to be honest.

I tried once but potty training is powerful stuff. I couldn't force myself to wet the bed. I gave up on it fairly quickly and just made some thick cloth diapers for myself. It worked and I could wear it when I liked

He's not talking about real bedwetting though(and success rate for "untraining" is debateable). If you wanted to fake it, you could pretty much get up and pee on the bed and then your clothing

No it's that my body wouldn't let me wet the bed. I have the problem even up to a few months ago where I have to be standing in front of a toilet to wet my diaper. I've been getting better at it and I've been able to use the diaper standing anywhere recently. I by no means want to untrain but its nice actually being able to pee on demand

When I was a kid I bought pull ups (goodnites) and wore them to bed. My mom caught me and I convinced her I was wetting the bed. She fell for it and bought me proper teen diapers with tapes for three months and kept it secret from my dad and sister. Later on I was drunk and told her I was still having problems so she gave me money to buy more myself.

Why would your psychiatrist recommend diapers?

I wish I could fake being a bedwetter so I could get free diapers but I am not so sure.
