So I just bought my first Cloth Diaper because I was kinda sick of running out of my disposables and having no money or having to wait till my next pack came in. I'm not sure what to expect. Do they hold wetness well? Good for messing? How do they feel after long term wear?
I bought the dotty diaper company pink cloth as pictured above.

Yes. Cloth diapers use the entire diaper so they WILL leak pretty quickly without the plastic pants to hold the leaks until the cloth can absorb it properly.

The other option besides cloth like that, is going for pocket style cloth diapers. They use a waterproof outer layer made of PUL, and have a pocket you put an absorbent bit into.
I have one with little plastic snaps, rather than velcro. Velcro can kind of become a nightmare in the washing machine. I got mine from https://www.snap-ez.com/product-page/small-snap-ez-adult-regular-rise-pocket-diaper and have their inserts as well.

So I was thinking of purchasing a cloth diaper like op linked but I was intending to use one as a cover? Does anyone else do this and does can it work like that? I just thought it would be a cheaper way to double up.

Not a bad idea but you gotta know that sucker is pretty thick, kinda made for waddlin'. It would also hold the diaper underneath really close and tight to ya. No room for saggin.

My cg and I have done this a few times. I'd still wear plastic pants if you wanted to use the cloth as well as the disposable under it. As many others have already said it will give you a very noticeable waddle.

Soak in cold water before washing, hot temperature, and if you messed, shake the soiling off into the toilet before soaking.
Do not use fabric softener, that will fuck up the absorbancy.

We got ours off EBay. Not sure of the seller's name anymore. I do remember them saying it was dependeco all in one diaper though. You still need plastic pants with them however, so not sure how it's all in one? We also bought some large cloth inserts to go in them too, which makes them even poofier.
I really like the diapers, my CG doesn't like the laundry that comes with them and the added chance for leaks so I don't get to wear them too often.

Though looking at them, mine only has 2 tapes, it seems like dependeco`s diapers have 4 tapes. So I don't know if it's actually one of theirs or if the person made the diapers themselves. (I remember them only having one of each in stock and waiting like 2 weeks for the diapers, but we bought 3 from them in different patterns at once.)

Hi
This post has been drawn to our attention, after many emails from people to warn us that someone is trying to post information about our company.
For the record that address is our business address and there are other things wrong with the information provided,
Perhaps who ever posted it would like to discuss this with us, our email address is sales@dottydiaper.co.uk
Honestly why does a question about our cloth diapers need someone to bring in information about the company thats simply not relevant?
I am going to ask whoever is moderating this stuff to remove posts not relevant to this discussion.
And to who ever thinks that its relevant to post this stuff to think next time before committing something that could land you in civil case.
Yours
Tom

Sorry, bro, they aren't quite like traditional japanese diapers. There's basically a waterproof outer layer with a soft inner layer, and a spot you shove absorbent layers between the two. Not so much of the tons of wrapped layers. With no absorbent layers, it still works pretty sweet as a cover over other stuff though.

8chan baited them, you see the the details he gave wasn’t severe details and it doesn’t give out their address. This was bait so Dotty would reply and send threats, when did they, 8chan took matters into their own hands and had Dotty’s Instagram terminated. This was the 8chan bait, this has been done plenty of times before to webcam models. This isn’t something new. Had dotty ignored it their Instagram would have still been up.

Tried this out. I bought it mostly just as fun, thick nightwear, didn't really intend to use it often because I figured it would be a pain in the ass to clean but nope, its just another piece of laundry. It can even be tumble dried (on low). I've wet it I think twice now (haven't messed it, I don't do that). The first time I wet it leaked but maybe I didn't let it absorb enough before laying down? Idk. I wet it this morning and it didn't leak when I sat down. The Amazon page does say that it takes a few washes for the inserts to reach maximum absorbancy and I did wash it a few times between my first and second wetting so maybe that had something to do with it. Its pretty comfortable. Not too hot, especially because it doesn't require separate plastic pants. It doesn't cut at my sides like disposables tend to do. The outer material is super soft. The fit is really good and highly adjustable thanks to the wide array of snaps on the front and the stretchy sides. For reference I have a ~32" waist and have it snapped to where the sides nearly meet in the middle so there's plenty of room for people who are much larger than me. It comes with one insert but one alone isn't really 'fun' thick to me. I bought one of the two packs of inserts and one of those with the included insert seems to be the sweet spot for me. Honestly, this is so comfortable and so economical that assuming that leaking issue was just a fluke, this may just entirely replace disposable diapers for me.

As long as we're discussing Rearz products, their PVC Lined Flannel Pant (https://rearz.ca/pvc-lined-flannel-pant/) is pretty awesome. It's reversible, so you can put the flannel on the inside to absorb minor leaks when used on its own, or on the outside if used under another waterproof pant.

Follow up: it does absorb much better after a few washes. Two inserts seems to strike the right balance between capacity and bulk for me. There seems to be a bit of a learning curve to telling just how wet it is and how much more it can hold but I think I'm getting the hang of it. All in all I'm pretty happy with this and I plan to buy a second one soon. If you're of the mindset that cloth diapers are more trouble than they're worth but you have access to a washer and dryer you can use discretely, I highly recommend giving this or something like it a try. Its comfortable, cute, and if you like it it could save you a ton of money over buying disposables.

First diaper I've ever worn was a cloth-diaper I stole from my sister.
We wore mixed diapers. Disposables when outside and cloth when at home.

I actually found that quite interesting. The idea of wearing cloth at home and disposables when on the go is strangely intriguing.

Any recommendations for discreet (quiet and low cut) plastic pants for use with training pants? I'm specifically look at getting a pair of Rearz training pants.

Has littlelolikat not been bullied off the internet yet? I'm not saying it should happen, she's kinda cute, it just seems like something that would've happened by now

I bought their cloth diaper. The material is great - very soft and very thick. However, the sizing for the large is completely borked. It says it fits waists 40″ -- 52", but I have a 42 inch waist and the diaper just isn't long enough for my pelvis. The front exposes my pubes, and the back exposes my buttcrack. The velcro landing strip only barely comes up past my inner thigh, so it bunches up at the sides and prevents it from sitting straight. I'd assume I got a size too small by mistake except it has a tag with "L" on it, and the arms are almost too long as-is. Plastic pants help the fit a little since they press everything tighter, but I might have to remove the bottom layer of velcro landing strip, and sew it onto the top of the diaper to get it to fit properly.
Maybe it's a matter of mens vs womens hips, and they designed it with a female model?
Anyways, if they fit like in the picture, I'd absolutely recommend them, but I can't recommend what I got.
