The Hyouka anime is so much better than the novels, several of the smaller, filler mysteries does not appear in the books and the main stories are more fleshed out. You may say that filler is worthless. However, in a slice of life like this, filler should be a major part of the content.

To be fair they replaced it with a pretty amazing visual euphemism (also in Musaigen no Phantom World), and to my knowledge have never done panties so it's more or less to be understood. Actually I lied they've done one blink-and-you'll-miss-it but even that may just be a void like the ones in Little Witch Academia. It is weird when they're happy to do things like nudity and boob jiggle though. They still do drop-dead-gorgeous female characaters even with that fault.

Finally an opportunity to talk about it since I finally binged my way through it a few days ago. The OVAs too. I haven't read the LNs, I understand there's more to do and that like Nichijou its main crime is there's not enough of it. But what we got has gotten some of the few real laughs out of me in a while. The entire bit with the Axis cult, and all the amazing faces and totally embracing QUALITY as something to be used for effect, and the four MCs are a delight, especially Kazuma. Also fat butt Aqua, as funny as it is for her to have the same ones as a certain other dumb goddess in the LN.
