Yuru Yuri:
Little fag lolis try to rape each other. Unfortunately, a pure red-magenta-headed ditz gets caught up in her "friends" homophilic antics and comes up with fantastical occurrences to help cope with her rape trauma syndrome. She tries to remain her old optimistic self however, though sometimes she falters. Despite it all, she is shows kindness to others, and makes many new friends along the way, and at the end, she confronts her trauma and fears with the help of her newfound friends. It is a Bildungsroman slice of life story of kindness, friendship, love, challenges, and hope. And therefore utter dogshit, heh heh.
Welcome to the N.H.K.:
A homeless mahou neko shoujo named Pudding fights evil in her world alongside her magical anthropomorphic vacuum cleaner, and is in a love triangle with some boys in her school. She also cannot live without her cellphone. Pretty cliched, don't know why it's so popular.
Lucky Star:
Slice of life show where cute highschool girls talk about food. Became popular as a result of it airing in the good old days after 9/11, when citizens of the free world needed something to get their mind off of the current geopolitical landscape, and the United Federation's tyranny.
Stardust☆Witch Meruru:
Another magical girl anime. A little girl and her best friend are hit by a falling star, and become mahou shoujo as a result. Despite the anime supposedly being about teaching the value of friendship, Meruru blows everything in her path, including her best friend(?) and a metropolis. Not sure if meant to be tongue-in-cheek or not, though probably pretty funny either way.
Himouto! Umaru-chan:
Dumb spoiled imouto-sue gets magical-girl powers somehow and squanders her newfound abilities on junk food and entertainment, as well as to boost her grades. She constantly shits on her onii-chan—who is a fag—despite all he does for her. As her older brother builds a harem of cute girls, including many of her friends, she becomes jealous and constantly sabotages every relationship he tries to form. By the end, she has fully manipulated him into believing she is the only one for him, and they have a mock "marriage", after deciding that, in order to live normally, they can't really be together, so they pretend to be married "for a day", all after a harem of qt 3.14s and millions of otaku fans had their hopes, hearts and dreams shattered into a million potato chips, all falling lifelessly into the cackling, gaping maw of imouto Umaru-chan.
Youjo Senki:
Duck-face normalfaggotry brought to Japan, for some unknown reason (probably related to online marketing to be honest). It's about Tanya the Evil, as the title clearly suggests, set in the First World War between the Senatus Populusque Romanus and Carthago Mediterranean powers (plus minor allies for each), and offers political commentary aplenty, though whether any of it is not ideologically motivated or biased in any way is up for debate.
Chobits:
I, Robot but is a romantic comedy.
