I enjoyed it. Back when I read the VN I couldn't empathize with it as much as Unlimited Blade Works, but I think I've come around.

Watched it and I enjoyed it for what it is. More dialog with rider would have been nice. As is she is kinda just the muscle of the show where i remember her having more of a personality in the VN by this point.

The theater I saw it in was likely full of secondaries who didn't know their favorite franchise originated from a eroge so the finger licking scene and sex scene were quite hilarious with their open disgust/shock.

The whole Einzbern castle scene felt disjointed I dont remember it lacking any transitions in the VN but i haven't played it in like 10 years but that did make me kinda enjoy that scene less despite the animation being really good honestly.

I feel like a lot is lacking since we dont get the exposition from descriptions and bad ends like you do in the VN. Shirou feels less fleshed out for example and i think they had to add a few scenes just to kindof explain Sakura's obsession with Shirou where these things are done naturally while describing scenes in the VN.

overall worth my time and money even though i watched a cam rip of the thing a month or so before. I think the VN is still the superior experience though if you want to understand the characters more. Nasu just does that medium masterfully and i think isn't that great a writer outside the VN experience or at the best is a average writer outside VN.

Saw it last night at the local theater. It was pretty darn good. They definitely put a lot of money into the fight scenes, some of which were much shorter and insignificant in the VN. Ufotable still makes odd faces, but it wasn’t as noticeable here. Animation was consistently good, and I hardly recall any noticeable cg. Voice acting was also well done. It’s definitely designed for people who have already read and remember the VN. There were many in the audience who hadn’t read the VN who were really confused because of stuff they left out assuming you’d know it already. My only complaint is that the audience was noisy and annoying. Theater was packed with over 50 people and they all gasped and questioned and (ameri)clapped. Even when Sakura’s seiyuu subtly complained about it in the little intro she did with Shirou’s seiyuu.

Definitely. They cut out a few of her scenes. Fuck Nasu for not rewriting Heaven’s Feel back into the two routes he initially intended to write (Sakura’s and Illya’s). He has had plenty of time to do so. I just want to see a good end with Illya. Prisma doesn’t count.

What do you all think they’ll adapt next after Heaven’s Feel? They could do Fate, but it’s a bit pointless at this point. If they were going to adapt Fate they should’ve done it first. They may also do something with FH/A. The dark horse is Tsukihime or perhaps Mahoutsukai no Yoru.

I would love a adaptation of Mahoutsukai no Yoru but i cant see that happening anytime at all there's no real following for it even among nasu shit fans. I dont think it even has a full fan translation for the VN yet which is very disappointing.

The audience in my theatre clapped when Sakura responded to Shinji's advances. There was also an audible gasp when the fuwa fuwa scene dropped away to reveal the finger and all that. Honestly, I don't know how anyone can be surprised by the dream sequence ending that way, from pretty much the moment it started I had a feeling that it was the Shadow's view of the world for Sakura and whatnot.

Does anyone actually like Assassin? That it's always Hassan is boring. Part of why Apocrypha was great was because both Assassin's weren't the old man. Zouken seemed more powerful than his servant in all honestly, with his unlimited bug lives he's got stored up.

Here it was totally the opposite, people actually got excited over these scense and some even laughed.

There was this guy who even went "Woah" when Tohsaka told Illya to do "something" in her room.

Anyway saw the movie yesterday if I had money I would've seen it again as soon the one I saw ended. There's still 4 more times I can see it tomorrow and this sunday but it's a lot of money. Also liked they left out a preview for Spring Song.

I actually think Cursed Arm is pretty badass. He knows exactly what he can/can't win and knows when it's time to get out of the fight. A lot more than I can say for a lot of the other "assassins" in Fate that want honorable duels, or build giant floating castles, or crazily kill for jollies.

These Heaven's Feel movies really encapsulate my feelings on the Fate franchise generally. I just feel so sorry for secondaries that THIS is how they experience the story of Fate/Stay Night. I went to see it at the cinema and there were about 30 people there. No one was taking it seriously and people just keep laughing at it. I can't blame them. Why should anyone care about these characters? These movies are not very good at telling the story and in particularly giving our protagonists characterization so that we should give a shit. The first one was a total mess that felt like a poorly connected mash of scenes taken from a plot synopsis. The second one was at least better as a movie because it had a through line of a plot. Unfortunately now the action scenes in the second one were not very good. I really don't know how they are going to make a third movie that gives a satisfying resolution to all this with all the underdeveloped plot threads. To be honest, it might be best for them to go for the netural ending instead of the good ending considering how little Ilya has shown up thus far.

Overall, I just feel bad for the secondaries.
