People are acutely aware of the declining birthrate and the slow crumble of the family unit because of the "work yourself to death" mentality that came from the lost decade. So they make more series about happy families and having children and trying to seize back that happier lifestyle. I doubt it, because by the time they're a sagging, hideous hag with a melting face (OP's image is a great example of such a fat, melting face), their value as far as new mothers is already approaching rock bottom. If it was just meant to be birthrate propaganda it would be about girls in their 20s or at most early 30s. Even earlier than that even, but modern society has of course decided that women are only acceptable by the time they start to lose all that youthful charm. There's a reason humans didn't wait until women were in their 30s to reproduce for most of history. It's either just a shitty fad or, if it's really being pushed by anything, people trying to spread the modern Western notions of ugliness being good, obesity being attractive and youthfulness being unattractive.

Either way I wish for this shit to end already, because I prefer cute girls and titty monsters that aren't already a decade past their expiration date.

I fully believe that the Japanese government is desperately trying to get shut-ins to copulate or at least to import people of a similar ethnic group to procreate to sustain its growth, but most of these fetishes are just people coming out of their relative closet and finally finding enough public, courage or niches that they can publish them.
