In a post-olympics world where anime and manga have been thoroughly flushed from Japanese society and Akihabara is nothing but an empty shell of itself will these ultra-generic JK meidos be able to find all the GochiUsa UsaCafe tanks?
Welcome to the true dystopia.
Also there's some kind of sci-fi mahou shoujo plot about entering different popular series' worlds and fighting purple things or something I guess.

Its been decent so far. The parody series are exactly what is said on he tin with no gags or jokes of value. It seems lie the kind of series that is written with the thought "do you think anyone will remember X?".

I'd say its a few notches below "decent", the quality fell hard in the second episode. It makes me wonder how successful the mobile game it's based on is.

It did. To be fair though it doesn't need to have high quality visuals to be entertaining, see Imoimo. The whole show is hinged upon how cute the girls are and how the audience receives parody of the week. Given the ED and its acceptance, >>902222 and >>902166 , the quality just needs to be passable.

It's okay. After the first episode I thought I might drop it, but once they actually went into the manga worlds, it started to be ever so slightly entertaining. The Hanekawa group was worse than the Ren-chon group, too.

100% agree anon. The first episode was a total write off since it was so boring. However from the second episode I have developed a soft spot for this show. Every week I am excited to see which anime world they will parody next.

Would be even funnier if they actually did a crossover work with the actual thing they are parodying. I kind of assumed that given that there have been showings of actual manga that you can buy (I know I saw Sunohara in one of the episodes shown) in the show but I guess those will be skipped for something more famous and something they own. Might be too much to license and collaborate with competitors and other anime studios to get the style right to make an ultra crossover anime like this.

I remember some anon explained it when Nintendo was going around removing all of their old games from the internet awhile ago. Apparently due to the way Japanese copy right works, if you don't make efforts to protect your IP on your own it eventually becomes forfeit for all intents and purposes.

Surprisingly, they left the Gochiusa reference alone for the last episode.
It was okay, some episodes better, some worse. Just barely had enough interest to reach the end. The one thing I was impressed by was that despite the thin budget and constant big fight scenes, they still somehow avoided really bad QUALITY, though instead of that there were quite a few cases of 2fps animation. Honorable mentions to Ren-chon, nya~ and ojou for mostly being entertaining when on-screen.

I don't know about that. Show looked pretty garbage generally. It didn't reach Imoimo levels, but it was pretty close. Check out this scene where they didn't draw the drill properly.
No.915263
Overall this show was a mixed bag. Had some pretty great episodes, and a lot of lacklustre ones. The gimmick of being set in anime universes was mostly underutilised which was a big shame. The main appeal was the novelty of seeing which series they would adapt each week. Not the worst thing I've watched this season so I am content. Pretty annoyed they didn't have a Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san episode considering how much it was referenced. That would have been an amazing.
No.915408
>>915258
It was never well drawn, however in Imoimo almost every scene someone would be crosseyed or drawn blatantly shit, facial expressions poorly located on the face, here the worst it usually got was low detail and low framerate. There were some blatant errors, but not that many of them.
No.915505

Normally I'd be a little upset about this sort of thing but frankly I have no sympathy for mobage advertisement trying to sell itself on something actually decent like GochiUsa, not to mention that it wasn't a silly parody/homage that took a clever take on the original but just an excuse to straight up steal frames and direction work from the gochiusa anime with a chinese knock-off tier premise of 'haha usagi = unagi' as the only thing differentiating it.

Exactly. If you told someone about this anime it would sound really entertaining but the execution here failed to capitalize on the premise. It ended up being average at best.
No.915996
Well, damn. At first I was just hoping to stick this through and instantly delete. But with all the hoopla about the series getting withdrawn for (though they don't say it as such) infringement. I am keeping this one. It saved itself with the final episode as it's probably the first time Digiko's been referenced this decade. That part of the episode reminded me of Planet With for some reason.
How Anno isn't on the shut it down bandwagon is a bit surprising, considering they spent the last two episodes riffing on EVA.
