Drawing is way more of a pain in the ass than I'd expected years ago.

There's been some progress but other than the eventual fluke I'm still shit.

I keep getting idea stories and the thought of drawing it one day is what keeps me from giving up.

As of yet there's 1 short story idea, 7 series ideas, with two pairs that are similar so it might just turn into comic/spin-off, 1 gag page thing, 6 one page drawing ideas, plus 2 setting fragments I have no idea what to do with. And I can't even draw a proper anime girl yet, so that's going to be fun.

It's not really that elaborated or creative, it's mostly just me thinking of a scene/setting and liking it for some reason usually at 5am. when trying to sleep and have to wake up in an hour then elaborating on it a bit and writing it down. Still, I want to try and do them all, even if only to make a single page and then trashing it because it's shit.

Here's a few.

>guy gets kidnapped by 3 aliens and lives on the spaceship with the aliengirls studying him, 4 characters including MC, no dialogue at all and a GWTBW-ish sort of humor

>medieval doctor finds a viking loli then travels around studying medicine, focuses on medieval medicine like accidental anesthetics and drillings skulls and letting it bleed to fix the blood levels

>gag isekai where the MC gets a wish and asks for the power to summon earth weapons, instantly summons nuclear weapons, nukes the maou castle and completes

>a few other that are along these same lines, plus one alice in wonderland surrealist type shit that I haven't fleshed anything out except for one scene with a dwarf and a giant devil snake that acts as a gate.

I'm starting to feel like I've "grown out" of art so much that I'll never be able to realize any of the ideas I have.

I spend much more of my time working on programming projects than art these days, it's just so much easier to accomplish things in a meaningful way in a meaningful time frame and the problems that need solving are more interesting to solve. For stories I have about 2200 lines and 500k characters worth of ideas in total (not counting the mental imagery/visuals/scenes in my head) that I might be interested in enough to do something with, so there's no shortage of material to work with in case I ever feel ready to get to it. Some of it are detached ideas like character descriptions or world elements that interest me, but there's some much more involved and specific stories too.

It's very tempting to work on a comic, and talking about it like this has already raised the temptation to do it right now. The idea that has my interest right now is similar to Evangelion and Elfen Lied and Birdy the Mighty and Men in Black, about a secret organization who raises genetically engineered hardly-even-human girls to fight some monsters using a tool that interferes with machines and is lethal to nearby humans. They have a short lifespan so on their 16th or 18th birthday they can wish for anything, and their current head wishes to experience human life after learning about it from someone who escaped the facility and spent some time in a human town.

Learning Japanese is WAY easier than learning art to the point of being able to draw decent comics. Even when you're pretty good at art that doesn't mean you're fast enough to not take 7 months to finish a chapter. I could definitely draw a comic in terms of quality, but not at all in terms of speed.

I think I declared a goal in last year's thread, and I did almost nothing towards it. I wanted to make a OST for a mock RPG. I made a couple of game themed songs, but then I went back to making random unfinished crap. I've contemplated making a game or writing a story, but I can never come up with any interesting ideas appropriate for my skill level which is totally amateur. I really enjoy coming up with settings, but when it comes to writing a story for it I have no fucking idea what I'm doing.

My most promising idea for a game/story was about a loli who gets lost on her way home and takes shelter from the rain in a mansion. The mansion is magic and the loli can't find her way out. Eventually she encounters a butler who is stressed and panicked and tells the loli she can leave if he lends her help to him. The residents of the mansion are ghosts and have lived there for centuries, and an unmanageable quantity of dust has accumulated. There are various dust monsters prowling about the mansion, and each of the family members' rooms has been made into the lair of a dust boss. The loli is made honorary meido, given a uniform, and a magic broom. She uses it as a sword against the dust monsters, and eventually she learns to harness its magic and can fly it like a broom. There are a lot of details to fit in. I think it would make a neat manga or metroidvania.
