Years later we actually did work out what was causing 8ch to keep crashing, it turns out that refreshing the recent posts queue is highly processor intensive and under her initial setup Hoihoi was pulsing that page every <10 seconds (and we had multiple instances of her running). We worked it out when Ron tracked the fault down and told us our bot was overloading the servers and to switch it off for a bit. We did so and immediately things were better. The only reason NEXT even happened to begin with was Hoihoi was over-vigilant and kept crashing the servers.
