After putting off for a long time I finally watched the first episode of Tsuki ga Kirei out of curiosity.
Seemed like garbage to me.

Never heard of it before, doesn't sound very promising. Some kind of played straight middle school romance? Though you should really abide by the three episode rule if you were intending to try it. Also your post formatting it a little strange, I'm not sure why you needed to set out the 'Seemed like garbage' line apart from the rest of it like it's its own paragraph.

Watch it through. It was a bit slow but in the end I really enjoyed it and thought it was one of the better anime I’ve seen lately. It’s a somewhat generic romance but it was very good
