Suyaris-sama finally overtook the demon castle hell and received an anime adaptation. But then, a stupid writer attacks! Oh no, there's now romance. Still a more consistent product than what the 12 Apostles managed.

I got mixed vibes in terms of the cast, but it publishes in a shonen magazine, and the fanservice is pretty much strictly of the girl(s), and there's a lot of it.

No bully, but before this show I thought it was spelt 'Beezlebub' and that the fact that it was pronounced different was some kind of quirk of whatever language it came from.

This show is weird. It's like it's trying to be comfy, but it's not taking it easy enough to be comfy. I'll try watching more than the first ten minutes of the first episode, but I'm not really feeling it like I thought I would.

I wonder how long until you realize the focus is on Myurin, and generally the guys for some reason.
I really couldn't take it after a certain point how that wimpy, annoying, busybody but awkward protag gets all the sympathy from everyone, including the narrator, as well as focus.
Easily dropped after 3 episodes.
No.874986

>focus is on Myurin
They're playing two sides. It's partly because it's fujo pandering, but he's also the male observer/"self-insert", like the MC of most seinen-shonen romcoms. The focus on the guys isn't that off-balance. I think it's very similar to Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, which also had a pretty 50-50 distribution of screentime and many prominent male characters. Only difference was that Myurin was a girl.
No.874993
>>874986
That's a huge difference though, and the reason why this show became unbearable.
That Myurin is just way too fucking horrible of a main character. Everything else is alright.

>>874993
I don't find him worse than the average romcom MC; they don't usually get quite so visibly emotional over things, but he's somewhat proactive, and his busybody personality is there to complement the lazy-ass demon. That's not to say I like him a lot, but I'm not getting urges to drop the show from seeing him.
No.875095
The shotacon and the boys she imagines are cute. Still nothing compared to the puff. The romance is so pure white its blinding and under several sunglasses I'm cheering them on.

This time their version of the demon actually makes sense.
In comparison, Belphegor "was worshipped in the form of a phallus" and seduced people by teaching them innovative technology.

No.882908

>What kind of mythology is this?
Beelzebub is derived from Beel-zebul from the works of the Testament of Solomon. Beel-zebul was derived from the Philistine god Baal Zebub who was worshipped in Ekron as "The Lord of the Flies" which was later twisted into "The Lord of Dung" because of how the word flies and dung interact in ancient Hebrew. Ancient Hebrews, Phoenicians, Greeks, etc. were well aware of parasites like tapeworms and such that were known to basically destroy the liver/colon and thus people infected with them were considered to be possessed by the devil Beelzebul who was eating their shit and insides (maggots being considered a sort of worm associated with flies at the time). It's one of the reasons expelling worms and maggots and such from the body was associated with expelling devils & demons from the body.
Long story short, because of a bastardization of pre-Jewish history in the Middle East, Beelzebub is associated with eating shit in ancient scripture.
Polite sage.

Getting real comfy now.
First half, I don't know about that couple. They're definitely the worst out of the 4, mostly because shotacon gets played for laughs. Sacchan would be okay, but the manwhore isn't a very good partner for her, nor is the inevitable "he gives up being a manwhore for her, probably, maybe" storyline particularly good.

They have the least chemistry. Blondie may just say he likes her platonically to get that backbreaker as a comic relief. Even pink and silent best girl are better and they rarely if ever talk to each other.
