I've been looking forward to this adaption, but this is only Troyca's fifth anime, so we'll see how it goes. I really liked what they did with that train scene.
To first order it's pretty much a direct shot-for-shot adaptation of the manga, but they made it distinctive and did something with it that took advantage of the medium. It's a great scene on its own, and a great adaptation of a manga scene. It's one of those cases that shows you don't need to be fancy, expensive, or time consuming to stand out.

Getting his mini-backstory is unusual but the main point of it is to have an outside observer analyze the relationship between Nanami and Yuu and bring up the threat of being discovered. And in Maki-kun's case he is a voyeur who is experienced in observing romance. He's a weird guy all around. I do think there were a few small times where the animation looked a little stiff, and the brightness and flares everywhere can be a little distracting. The class rep did come out to her too early I feel; might have been best to wait a few more episodes. That aside, I like it.

I was on the fence about whether I would use Asenshi or Horriblesubs for this show, but after the debacle last episode (see pic 5 related where they aren't even talking about the right character) and now someone has put the honourifics back in, Asenshi is the way to go for me. Also hsubs isn't CR. It is Hidive, who are the same people who butchered Hakumei to Mikochi a few seasons ago and Revue Starlight last season.

This one feels too short because it IS too short. There's a coherent goal that the season has been driving towards, but we're stopping short of actually getting there. It wouldn't have worked to try and cram the play into one cour with everything else, but I also don't think there are enough chapters out for a second cour yet. Depending on how things go with the manga, a second cour might actually be able to conclude the series.
Zombieland is a little different, since there's not an obvious endgame. There are unresolved plot points like Tae, but there's not one thing we can say should happen before the show ends. It's also anime-original, so on one hand it could have just as easily been two-cour, but on the other hand it's riskier to greenlight two without knowing how it'll sell.
