The most extreme male self insert fantasy I can think of is accel world, where a depressed fatass scoring hot chicks made everybody everywhere mad about taking it too far with the delusions.
But this is taking the concept of self insert fantasy and taking it a step further, you're practically admitting you're a fat, hairy, drooling beast and that thing gets to fuck a cute boy in his prime.
I feel like I should be mad, but I can't find it in me to be anything but impressed, women are terrifying.

I don't know how moon grammar works so it depends on how "no" is being used. If it's possessive it basically means "Monster's Bride" is that right? No.866380

"No" is not exclusively used as a possessive particle, as it just shows that there is some kind of connection between the two words, but in this case I have trouble seeing it as anything else than "Monster's Bride", like you said. Or "Non-Human-san's Bride" to go full literal translation.

人外さんの嫁 could easily be read as 'A wife who is not human', 日ノ輪を嫁として指名した謎の生物, is probably closer to 'A strange creature who has decided itself to be MC's wife'. Mostly because of として, but frankly my knowledge of grammar terms in English isn't good enough to explain it properly, ironically. Admittedly, the grammar is a bit more ambiguous than it needs to be but it isn't explicitly calling the MC a wife. Doesn't change the fact that the designs are fujo as fuck.

>'A wife who is not human'
That possibility is why I wrote that の is not exclusively possessive. But considering that intentionally added"-san" to indicate personhood instead of keeping it more generic, I'm about 80% sure it's meant to be read as a possessive.
However, there is absolutely nothing ambiguous about 日ノ輪を嫁として指名した, which is why I was so glad to find it. MC is directly set as an object (日ノ輪を) to which the action "named/chosen as a wife" (嫁として指名した) has been done to. And the rest of the sentence and context just make it clear that the action was done by the creature. As explicit as it gets.
Slightly off-topic 日本語 sage.

I would have been completely fine if the show were about a group of pairings like that. Trap monster boys would be OK in my book.
I know it's classed as josei, but in its current state I don't even know who this whole package is supposed to appeal to.
Human guys (or girls) being picked by cute feminine monsters? The audience is obvious.
Human girls being picked by masculine monsters? There are a couple very different audiences for that depending on what direction things take.
Human guys being picked by masculine monsters? There is undeniably an audience for that too.
But who is this for? Nobody could be self-inserting as that pink thing who wouldn't be better served by just about anything else. I could believe >>865939 if the monsters were female and more similar to Kanenogi, but it doesn't make sense when the boys are wives and the monsters husbands.

From the context alone, with the purple balding creature that acts like an old man, the guy in love with a huge furball and all, it seems like it'd be comedy, but then you go ahead and watch it and it's actually not. It kinda does, fujoshi make up the majority of female otaku.

I'm not one of those people who can't watch anything without self-inserting. I can handle a series that's just a comedy or a romance without anyone you're supposed to insert as. But there's nothing here. The comedy is non-existent, and the romance is impossible to stand up on its own when one side of it is those things. I can't figure out what it has without self-insertion, but self-insertion doesn't explain it either.
It makes no sense.
>>871429
I know, but then the designs don't make sense. There's no BL appeal to the monsters.
