It's hard to say that Luffy has grown significantly, but I think the big difference here is that we're seeing him in a calm, controlled situation for the first time in years. He's been scrambling and hanging on by a thread for what felt like years during the Katakuri fight. Before that, it was constant running around and screaming about Sanji. Right now, we've got a calm, fully recovered Luffy that's in full control of the situation, and for once, the enemies around him aren't personified forces of natural destruction who can't be stopped, like Big Mom and most of her Kids were.
Would have been nice to have some of the crew around for this stuff, though. Sucks that we got some of them back together after scrambling for an entire arc, only for them to be split again.

Predictions:
- Big Mom is heading to Wano to try and ally with Kaido against Luffy. This will fall apart and lead yo a three way war eventually.
-Luffy's vivre card being lost might result in the grand fleet showing up? Long shot, but I know that's happening eventually like Whitebeards allies at Marineford.
-Luffy allies with Hawkins and Kidd, but Kidd is violent and unstable and his lust for revenge after his humiliating defeat will complicate things. At least some of their crews were likely killed, everyone is leaning towards Killer as the likely victim.
-I think X Drake will stay loyal to Kaido.
-I suspect the WG is heading for Wano, but I'm really hoping I'm wrong as it would be nice to have an arc with no involvement from them like with thd last one.

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I'm sick of Carrot. I like the idea of a mink mugiwara, but she's boring and she feels... Like a mary sue. Her backstory is No where near as compelling as the others, everyone loves her though she's a stow away, she instantly defeated Luffy when he ate her carrots and saved him from drowning at another point, and she has a special power with limited usability that makes her prettier and leaves her in a weakened state. Virtually every other mink has a more interesting backstory.

Oh yeah, I remember now." They added a lot more scenes like that for her in the anime, especially in the filler, so now every time I see her smiling face I just think of Rey fixing the Millennium Falcon.
Like, I remember way back when I first saw Brook and didn't want to like him. "They already have a swordsman..." But his backstory and personality both instantly won me over, and it's been like that with most OP characters. Except for Law's flashback, that just made me like Corazon.

>兄貴 is not really rude, but rough and slangy. In manga and anime, certain people such as gangs and tomboyish girls tend to use 兄貴 to refer to their own older brothers or bosses. Such people use 兄貴 to refer to someone else's brother without being offending. In real life, I occasionally hear 兄貴, but it's not common. If I'm not mistaken it's like "bro" in English.

What bothers me to this day is that Ace got all the way to Wano and apprenticed under one of the Yonko, without ever learning about Haki until fighting Blackbeard. He was a Yonko commander too, which makes it so much worse now that Yonko commanders have Haki on top of Haki.

None of Whitebeard's pirates used it. You can look at it one of two ways, either the crews had some form of specialization and intentionally refused to use it -sort of like how no one else seems to use those extremely useful techniques Cipher Pol uses that let them fly, shoot bullets and become invulnerable- Oda hadn't come up with haki yet -but the rudiments had already been revealed with Mantra on Skypeia and Shanks using conquerer's in front of Whitebeard- or the third (retcon) option is that people have been using it all along but you can't see it unless you're aware of it. I mean even Smoker can use it now.

As far as I understand, Haki is something that everyone can use to some extent, and the stronger they are the more likely they are to awaken specific kinds of haki, but at the same time, using Armament Haki, for instance, requires training. Do you think Chopper is going to remain weak for the rest of the series? I've been kind of disappointed with his growth, at least in terms of combat ability. I've also been disappointed with how underutilized Robin is. She should be the most powerful member of the crew with how many powers her fruit gives her. I've said it before, but she can teleport, phase, create doubles, regenerate endlessly, temporarily fly and create giant limbs -which I'm sure will evolve into a full giant form. As to where I'm getting the teleport/phase thing, back during the Fishman island arc they threw a metal net over her. She dissolved into flower petals and rematerialized outsidr of the net. It makes sense, since she can make her limbs appear anywhere she can see.
Or to put it in comic book terms, she's wolverine, multiple man, shadowcat, nightcrawler, and giant man all in one.

Robin has yet to be put up against an opponent that would require her to use all of her powers to their fullest. Without a doubt, Oda could construct an amazing fight scene where Robin is a truly terrifying opponent, attacking from all sides, appearing and disappearing, and occasionally unleashing a skyscraper-sized fist... But there are lots of problems with that. For one, Robin is not a fighter, she's an archaeologist and she doesn't enjoy fights the way that Luffy and Zoro do. She'd need an opponent who could survive her usual neck clutch or any of her usual tactics and also force her to get really serious, which is a hell of a character to create, and at that point, you start wondering why that kind of threat isn't thrown at one of the stronger Strawhats, not just because it makes sense, but because that's what Oda and the editors would likely insist on doing. As best I can figure, Oda giving Robin such an absurd power was likely more of a mistake. Something to make her interesting and then a powerup to keep her alongside the rest of the crew, but not something that he can fully take advantage of.
Which brings me to Chopper and the rest of the weak characters: Even though One Piece is largely a battle manga with characters training and struggling to get stronger to beat tougher opponents, not every character in the crew exists solely to fight. Nami's greatest accomplishment will not be beating the strongest opponent she's ever had to face, it will be navigating to Raftel and mapping the world. Likewise, Robin's final payoff will be decoding as many poneglyphs as possible, revealing the truth of the Void Century, and avenging Ohara by spreading the truth and knowledge she's accumulated. With Chopper, I can only assume that his time to shine will not be combat either, but in an act of medical heroism. The Wano arc has set up that Kaidou's factories are poisoning and killing people, which is a perfect thing for Chopper to occupy himself with, while Luffy and Zoro get into a fight with Kaidou.

Technically, Robin could still do that though. There was also Shiki with his sword legs and a sword guy who could turn his whole body into swords. I think that's it... This theory works until you get to Nami, after this last arc she's been upgraded to the fourth or fifth most powerful member. She still has all her thief agility and cunning, but her rod has become an extremely powerful weapon extending to any length and giving her control of the elements. She was the only reason Luffy beat Cracker and throughout the entire arc her use of Zeus damaged Big Mom more than anything else, and that cannot be understated. Luffy nearly passed out just clashing haki with her. With Zeus she's truly s force to be reckoned with now, shit's going to be awesome with her flying around on him whipping out typhoons and smacking shit. The only way around that -but it would annoy thr shit out of everyone and I can't see Oda doing it- is if Zeus gets a downgrade as a result of his defeat and enslavement.

I think you've severely misunderstood why Big Mom is such a threat and what makes her so powerful, as well as exaggerating how strong Zeus is. Getting a sentient cloud that can bolster her abilities is a big step up for Nami, but she's still one of the weakest Strawhats for many other reasons, and even with her weather-tech stuff, she still doesn't do much to make it easier for the crew to sail the New World.

She would most definitely not survive any of the crazy bullshit the monster trio, Chopper or even Usopp get to eat in every other major fight. On top of this, her big moves all have a cast time of sorts making her far less effective in a straight 1v1 fight.
Nami is strong, but only as long as she starts with the advantage and gets to mop up the fight fast before any counterattacks happen.

It's a shame because his low bounty is funnier if he is an actual threat, and I don't know if on his own he could even take down the Zoan Impel down guards.

Land-Jimbei could have any woman he wants, because he's famous and likely rich as fuck from winning so many competitions. I think he's forceful, but not a bad guy. Wapol and the Celestial Dragons are literally nobility and they're villains.

Manga is a strange industry. They work amateurs nearly to death and sculpt them into manga producing machines who slowly realize they had no idea what they were getting into with the amount of labor and the creative strain it would introduce, especially when the lead artist and writer are the same person.
Some guys need to be constantly pushed and given ideas and guidance by their editors. Others need constant prodding to keep the art exciting. Oda is quite literally one of those once in a lifetime talents, the kind that they write stories about. I can't foresee an editor fucking with his creative process too often. It's the kind of thing that they need to handle very gently, because too much prodding could spoil the innate quality that makes the series so popular, but leaving Oda unleashed could mean a lot of time wasted on very, very silly ideas.

I'd heard Oda didn't intend for One Piece to be very long at all but never found any thing that looked like hard proof of that. Like, that almost everything after Alabasta wasn't really planned. I find it hard to believe but that's the only thing I've ever heard of editors or top brass effecting him.
I heard Oda also gets kind of stressed out because he knows a lot of people have jobs because of him and that he thinks that if One Piece takes a shit he's gonna ruin people's lives.

From what I've read, Oda didn't originally intend for Shanks arm to get bitten off, his editor found the first chapter boring so he changed that to make it more dramatic. He also intended for Whitebeard to flat out kill Akainu but his editor stepped in and insisted he survive as he'd make a better villain later in the series.
He also initially intended to stop with the Shichibukai, but as he started writing those arcs he kept coming up with new characters and raising the stakes and power levels until he felt more powerful adversaries were needed.

So I was just thinking about the difference in strength between the warlords and the Yonko. Obviously some were shit, and Doflamingo was terrified of Kaido, so he better be a fucking monster, but I was wondering specifically about Hancock and Mihawk. I definitely think Mihawk could take out a yonko commander, I'd put him at least on par with Katakuri personally. But I'm wondering if Hancock's power would work on any of them. The only requirement seems to be that you find her attractive. If Kaido really fathered kids with Big Mom his standards can't be too high, so she should be able to put him to stone. Now we know Big Mom can't drain Kaido's life because he doesn't fear death.
Also, Fujitora should be immune to Hancock since it's been established her power doesn't work on the blind.

This is also kind of pissing me off because aside from just getting "stronger" we haven't seen much of a change in him. The timeskip implied that all the Strawhats were sent to places that would hone their existing abilities. Urashima confirmed villain in this chapter. He'd seen eating with another smile user, Mouseman complaining about how he wants that girl to be his wife. Mouseman says he should just take her by force which makes him smile. He then orders someone to cook their PET tanuki as a meal for him, on account of being pure solid douche.
Another headliner called Golden is revealed, he has a lion head on his stomach and they both roar. He had the girl kidnapped because he's interested in her animal taming power. He orders her cheek pinched (the fiend!)
Luffy loudly announces they're there to rescue the girl at the gate, the female samurai is horrified by him doing this. A bunch of weak ronin attack them but Luff knocks them out with haki. They're then attacked by sumo wrestlers. Urashima thinks the girl is there to accept his marriage proposal. She tries to hide behind Zoro but is much too large for this to work. Zoro doesn't feel right cutting a bunch of fat, unarmed naked guys so he lets them right by him. They take her to Urashima but when she gets before him she unsheathes her sword and lops off his top knot(!) leading to the chapter ending on an increasingly excited Luffy.

Oda's typical style is to spend an entire arc doing everything in his power to make you hate the villain so that when Luffy finally kicks his ass it's incredibly satisfying. They've all done despicable things. The vaguely sympathetic ones end up allies. Even Buggy burned down that pet store.
Hancock was introduced as constantly kicking puppies and kittens, literally and a supremely stuck up botch who looks so far down on you her head acyually goes straight back.
Enel declared himself a god, cared about none of his men, blew up his home island and I tended to blow up others simply because he had no further use for them abd zappes around the island tormenting people arrogantly.
Crocodile framed a good king by starving his kingdom and starting a civil war. When the king's guard took a drug to fight him that they knew would kill them even though they couldn't possibly have harmed him he didn't even let them try, he dishonoured their sacrifice by dusting out of their reach and then mocking them as they die.
Arlong murdered Nami's adoptive mom, kidnapped her telling her she'd be freed if she coild but the island from him and once she had the money he stole it from her so she would have to start over on top of all tue racist stuff which is only made harder to believe after seeing his past with Fisher Tiger and Panda.
Wapol made it illegal to be a doctor unless you worked for him killing you if you practiced medicine outside of his employ and extorting money from his people for any medicall care at all.
Doflamingo killed his own brother, mind controlled an entire kingdom to frame their king and take over and then had anyone who fought him turned into a doll, erased from people's memories and forced into slavery.
I mean, I could do this for everybody. Remember Big Mom's glee in how she was going to betray her allies and have Sanji's brains blown out at the wedding? How about Jack poisoning the monks and then cutting off their leaders limbs? Caesar experimenting on children with addictive and far so drugs disguised as candy? Basically everything Akainun did at Marineford including trying to murder Coby? Magellan lecturing Shillew on murdering prisoners and then running around fatally poisoning any prisoner that annoys him? They're always gleefully unrepentant assholes.

I Could argue Doflamingo got so much shit it made him crazy. Everyone in their peasant town deserved to die, and he got so crazy he went full evil.
I could even argue Arlong was already racist and got full crazy after the whole Fisher Tiger's death and seeing how disgusting humans were not only for betraying them, but just forcing him to bride them.
I could EVEN defend Big Mon as she was just a tool for more deviant people and because she was an adict. It is impossible for her to redeem herself unless she finds someone MUCH stronger to make her feel pain, and by proxy, empathy.
The rest are assholes, I don't doubt that.

So far I'm a little underwhelmed by Kaido's crew. This Golden guy is a headliner, which should put him on the level of Hawkins at least, but his lion power is seemingly beyond his control and innhis introduction punches him in the nuts hurting them both. Jack's crew also kind of sucked besides him, and I did have a soft spot for the chick but only her physique. Even Jack got absolutely stomped both by the Navy and by Zou itself. Also to be honest the animal fruits have thus far always been the least interesting. An entire army of people with animal enhancements could get boring quick, that's why I think both the Supernova and evil Wano remnants are supplementing his forces so much.
This may be the recurring theme though with Yonko. Big Mom's commanders were strong but honestly everyone else with a few exceptions didn't seem that impressive.
No.854344

I don't think their pasts justify their actions. Doflamingo killed his own father, and he wss able to stop the town because of "a darkness" that was already in him. It's what Trebol saw in him. Corazon had the same experiences and he was an utter sweetheart.
Arlong's experiences didn't really justify his prejudice, especially given it going directly against the wishes of his queen as well as his captain. He also inspired Hody so his evil carried on sfter his defeat.
Big Mom may be retarded, but mad dogs get put down. She straight up ate all those orphans. Every time she doesn't get what she eants she throws a murderous tantrum. All of her children live in terror of her because on top of eating some of them she's horribly abusive, hence so many of her daughters defecting at the first chance. She also tosses aside the husbands as soon as she gives birth not even allowing them to see their children. Pound died happy just getting to for one brief moment see and protect his daughter and grandson.
I'm most curious about her past with Kaido. He was at the very least able to fight her to a standstill and they fucked before she got ugly. I kind of wonder how she got hot for a while with her eating habits never changing. Or maybe she'd get hot every time she went a day without eating or something.

Well, metabolism is a bitch, and she can starve herself to death in just a day. She might be strong but she consumes herself in a few hours. In fact, being so crazy with hunger might be her body screaming to eat because she needed constant feeding.

Also, I think it's worth noting to the people complaining Wano's king was for "open borders" because he wanted to have contact with the rest of the world, so far all of Kaido's men look like foreign invaders. It may be a switcheroo where perhaps it was the king's good nature that allowed Kaido and his men to come in and take over. I wouldn't go so far as to claim it was intentional (though I definitely think it was with Big Mom) but you could even say the Beast Pirates = Muslims, though there's no religious element and Oda already had a pair of Muslims in OP so I don't think he'd be so subtle if he wanted to make a commentary on them.

New One Piece film was confirmed for summer of 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the anime. I'm scared because it will probably be about the Rox Pirates, giving them the Shiki treatment, which I really don't want to happen. If the movie was 100% canon and just covered the days of the Rox Pirates and Garp kicking their asses, I would be very glad, but who am I kidding, it's a One Piece film, the Strawhats are definitely going to fight them, and the Rox Pirates will likely never be properly expanded upon just like with Shiki.

So it'll have gorgeous animation that puts the anime to shame, a binch if characters with alternate versions of powers we've seen before and tgmhe crew will get their asses handed to them for 4/5ths of the film only to suddenly remember the full extent of their powers in the final fight and clobber the bad guys.
Eh, I'll watch it and enjoy it for what it is as long as it doesn't introduce some new ally or interesting story detail that'd never brought up or confirmed as actually being canon in the series.
Actually, does Oda answer sbs questions from foreigners? Easiest thing to do would be to mail and ask him simply "do you consider any of the One Piece movies to be canon to the story and if so which ones?" Might be even smarter to phrase it listing which ones *you* think are canon since he tends to like those questions for some reason and always responds "Okay, done." Like when someone suggested Chopper's birthday should be Christmas.
I have mixed feelings on a movie a out the Rox Pirates though. If as you suggest it was a movie about Garp taking them down in his prime that would be fantastic since it would basically be a flashback arc in movie form, but I think a One Piece movie without the Strawhat would be a hard sell both to the studio and general audiences.
Which means one of two cringy options. 1. The plot involves time travel (strawhats go back in time or Rox Pirates come forward) or 2. The remnants of a crew from before even Roger's era meaning the entire crew would either be immortal or at least in their late 60's. Alternatively they could have been in some sort of suspended animation.

It's probably in an awkward spot where they're stronger than headliners but weaker than calamities, so they were just relegated to headliner status anyway.

Hm, good point about Sheepshead, I didn't remember him being mentioned as a headliner but if he was the title means nothing.
There were members of Big Mom's crew that weren't shit, and I remember how much Bobbins was hyped as an island destroyer and then Sanji one-shotted him and immediately afterwards Bege just shot him off-screen.
Him aside though, most of her army seemed at least fairly strong. Most of them could skywalk and use haki for instance. It wasn't just her generals either, Oven, Daifuku, Amande and a couple dozen others were extremely strong. One of her low ranking henchmen comes back in a new form every time he dies.
Kaido so far has three calamaties and three supernovas confirmed working for him, but I doubt anyone thinks the supernovas are going to remain in his employ. It would be a shame if that's it for the guy who's been hyped for years as puttibg all his resources into building a massive army. Especially if the whole army is fodder. We're going through animals pretty quickly too. Lion, Gazelle, Bat, Rat, all throwaways.

So the Vivre Card Databook Volume 1 was translated, here's the notable information:
Kuina's age doesn't line up with Tashigi, so the stupid theories might finally die down at least a little.
Roger and Shanks have bounties (though they weren't given), since Shanks has one, that acts as confirmation that Yonko are indeed given bounties.
Lucky Roo found the Gomu Gomu no Mi.
Finally, we got some real big news: going by card number, there are four missing cards between Brook and Roger, and the strawhats are indeed in order. It might be something else, but this seems like near-confirmation for the theory of four crew-members per section. Jinbe already joined, Carrot is extremely likely to join, so it's time to theorize about the remaining two.

What if "the great cleansing" the Gorosei spoke of, was literally flooding the world?
Think about it, this idea is batshit enough that Oda could very well be going that route.
>world of tiny islands
>most of the planet is water
>one of them, (Raftel), somehow became submerged
>weakness of devil fruits, is water
>Devil fruits are continually hinted at, as having more "science" to them, than we initially believed
>the D clan are "the enemies of God."
It's all coming together. The D Clan made the Devil Fruits. At the time they did it, the planet wasn't as covered in water as it is now, so it wasn't a crippling weakness. But Imu got his hands on a "water water no mi" and fucking flooded the world.
Or, something. There's something here, man, I can feel it.

The weakness of Devil Fruits is also tied to the "sea prism stone" and the minerals in seawater. I doubt there's a Water Water No Mi, but I could see the true bad guys of the void century doing something as insane as flooding the world to kill their enemy, especially if they had the Red Line to retreat to. The world being mostly ocean is definitely a huge deal, but you also have to consider the other unique geographic features, like the fact that the planet is walled off into two distinct sides, the weather patterns all across the Grand Line are absolutely nuts. There's poneglyphs from the void century beneath the ocean, in the fucking sky, and dotted throughout the world.

Also the shit with Fishman island that we all forgot about.
Merpeople and Fishmen fully capable of living on land. Their entire Kingdom exists in a giant bubble built from the special bubble material only found in Shaobody at the bottom of the one wall that bisects the planet. Centuries ago, the Fishmen were building an arc to TAKE EVERYONE TO THE SURFACE designed to be pulled by Sea Kings, a feat only possible thanks to the Royalty having the Superweapon class ability to command Sea Kings. Superweapons tied to the Void Century to the point that knowledge of their existence is enough for the WG to come and kill you. Joy Boy, the one who had something to do with the Poneglyphs, was the one who promised to help the Fishmen get to the surface.
Looks like they knew that the world was going to get flooded, but they were preparing to retake the surface once the true bad guys were taken care of. Shaping up that Joy Boy was one of the carries of the Will of D, perhaps the first one, who led the fight against the Tenryuubito and their masters to try and save the planet from their insane plans.

>who led the fight against the Tenryuubito and their masters to try and save the planet from their insane plans.
The tenryuubito are a classic "nobility degenerate" theme, their ancestors probably were proper nobles, centuries of indulging themselves coupled to the fact that they also have forgotten why they got their privileges.
The plan back then probably wasn't insane, just a desperate measure in a desperate time.
Nothing we've seen about the 5 elders (who might have been alive back then) is evil. Quite the opposite.
Their direct subordinates are the Marines top brass, so Garp, Sengoku, Akainu, Aokiji, Borsalino, Kong and Fujitora, all of them except Borsalino, have the same theme of "harsh but fair" old men.
We're supposed to hate Akainu because he killed Ace and tried to kill Luffy but in his successive appearances:
-He spared Boney (despite being a pirate).
-He spared Kuzan (despite the duel being supposedly to the death).
-Cesar said that he thought that Akainu would buy his WMD but he partnered with Don Flamingo instead.
-He stated specifically that killing Luffy and Ace was the job and no mercy could be had for them (because they're Ds?) during the battle.
So there is a definitive possibility that he's the most ruthless because he's the one who understand most what the D means.
Because while Luffy is largely harmless, Dragon and Teach are definitively another story.
I mean all we know about Dragon it that he abandoned Luffy and revolutions are never good especially from a nip POV.
Meanwhile Teach is pretty much "evil Luffy".
Also don't forget that Roger and Rayleigh know what the fuck the D means and what the void century is...
You don't see Rayleigh joining up with Dragon against the government while Roger pretty much let himself get killed.
The idea that the government is evil doesn't seem to be the point here, the Tenryuubito that abuses their power definitively are (same as the marines), but it's because they abuse the power they have inherited instead of being virtuous with it.
Another thing to add to the D is the possibility blackbeard ability to eat two is linked to it which would go to the "unlimited power" thing and why flooding the world was the only way to save it.

Also the elders agree to talk to Shanks and speak of him as having a "position" and should know better than to interfere with politics... doesn't that mean that the Younko thing is the same as warlords? A necessary evil that the WG allows?
Also Vivi is on the photo Im seem to consider to add to the pile (with the mermaid, blackbeard and luffy) and Vivi should be a Tenryuubito (as her family is part of the 20 "that made the world" but decided to go back down). I'm sure everyone has forgotten but Vivi does seem to have a natural power of hypnosis and uncanny agility/see in the future kind of thing... Momo is a SMILE user and he retains his human form. At least so far all the gifters are fodder with the mild exception of Speed who's only an exception because she's cute.
If Kaido really has built a huge army that primarily consists of fodder that can literally be defeated by Mink children I can understand why he cries so much. I'm curious to see what his powers are and why he chose animals as his theme. Maybe he's some kind of commentary on the Russian military strategy of just throwing raw numbers at any problem? Like he chose Spans specifically because the fruits are so common? Maybe his power is in some way enhanced by the number of underlings he has? He seems much more interested in forcing his enemies to work for him than killing them.
I guess it could be kind of interesting if most of his army was shit but he himself is so insanely powerful it makes up for it.
Also, I definitely think Hawkins is part of the alliance now. He just let Law walk away? Law didn't kill him? Nah, from the way Hawkins was talking and the stress lines on his eyes he definitely wants an alliance.

Three explanations come to mind:
<Luffy doesn't have a choice

The time travel in KH is stupid but far from complex or confusing despite what others here have said. KH comes off as a stupid clusterfuck only in terms of writing. But the lore is stupidly simplistic and easy to follow.

Ok yeah. It's only fucking retarded normalfags who drool on their bibs when it comes to Disney's first time travel.

Reddit and Halfchanfags are eating this shit up and loving it like the redditors they are. So I don't doubt the modern day readers will absolutely love the concept since all they ever do is talk about politics, fedoras and posting shitty yaoi art of Katakuri and Luffy.

The fanbase in many parts has really devolved in recent times as OP's popularity drastically grew in the west after Naruto's end, so this comes as no surprise. The shippers now plaguing the fandom are the same fucks who wouldn't shut up about shippings like NaruSaku and NaruSasu for years. Now they're shitting up things in as many boards as they can.

I really just hope Japan is going to be fine. I've already read about how places like Kabukicho is full of black thugs trying to get people to buy their stuff. I just don't want them to lose their way of life. It's bad enough that they're being pressured to be more diverse from outside, now the most popular manga is doing it too.

What fucking part of my post implies I support shipping faggotry? I said "if only" as in a minority of cat ladies shitposting their pathetic fantasy is preferable to thousands of literal faggots who won't shut up about how progressive it would be for Luffy to fuck Katakuri you faggot. That's the hell we're living in right now. There is no escape from shipping faggotry.

I blame the inclusion of Kingdom Hearts for this discussion going sour.
If this is persistent time travel it opebs a lot of doors. The last thing we need is the characters changing the past but basically every character from a flashback coild potentially come back. This might be how they explain the rocks pirates coming back as well.

It's meant to be a parallel to Japan's isolation period where America sailed in and told them to open the borders. I think. I don't think Oda is going pro-refugee or globalist at all here and people seeing that and gushing over that are fools. Wano has no refugees, it just has a population that's stagnating culturally and technologically under a tyrannical ruler. Wano is being left behind and its people are suffering for it.

I know we're just joking, but it couldn't have been that fruit because Foxy as far as we know has never been to Wano, and if someone else had the fruit before him that would mean they died which is generally a condition that ends devil fruit effects. I hope it's something more creative than a plot device no no.

If its actual time travel then the fact that it exists will break the entire series. Oda is smarter then that so it could just be stasis

>being afraid of those who look different only highlights your ignorance
And then an entire two page spread of the strawhats being humored and then moved to tears by Cuckden's story that we haven't even heard. But that's not all, even Whitebeard and Roger were Cuckden fanboys. It feels too forced. Clearly Wano was barely isolated if both Whitebeard and Roger were intimately familiar with some daimyo. We're supposed to sympathize with Cuckden to such an extent that he made the most remarkable figures of the pirate world sympathize with him too.
