I made pic related and I'm not sure I fully believe it anymore. There are great differences in style and subject matter between kemono and western furry, to say nothing of the communities surrounding them, but the internet has made our world small. Plenty of western artists are more inspired by kemono than western art, and kemono artists are surprisingly knowledgeable about and interested in western trends. Things like Undertale and MLP have really taken off over there, and every day another kemono artist hops on the commission gravy train. And the real kemono oldfags (ok, not as old as Tezuka) like TRUMP and Dr. Comet were selling translated works overseas and even attending American furry conventions in the 90s.

The sidemouth is pretty bad in this manga. To be fair I believe this is the mangaka's first kemono work, so it's understandable that he would have trouble with that. It could also be that because this is "entry level" kemono in a sense, proper canine mouths would scare people away.

Yeah. I hate that. I don't know that much about furries but I seems like the worst "people" in their community are also the worst artists, with those that cannot draw at all at the very bottom. Too bad that they spill thousands of dollarbucks on commissions for their shitty fanfiction OCs fursonas, so their shit is still spread all over the place. The same seems to be true about other western art site, like deviantart of hentaifoundry.
