It was a show that knew its only reason for existence was talking about stuff otaku freak out about, so it did that, which made it a lot of fun. There was a small group of anons following the series when it was airing, good times were had.

It was pretty decent. I'm legitimately surprised it wasn't a harem though.

The only complaint about Arisa is that she isn't Kati, and that's just sad gamefags like me complaining about nothing. Kati was so popular she shows up in the background of the anime every now and then, so there's that. At this point in time another anime would be more likely than another game (Akiba's Beat was a flop) so here's hoping.

It was alright, some of the episodes fell flat but when the parodies were done well (like the music episode) they really shine.

Watched it. I thought it was terrible. Some jokes worked but most of the parodies fell flat. Not sure how someone can compared it to animegataris which clearly shows effort put into it compared to Akiba's Trip. It has a level of QUALITY that you can't tell if it's intentional at times. Mahou Shoujo Ore at least made it clear at the end with a literal QUALITY beam and message that scrawled at the bottom.

I don't remember any QUALITY in akiba's trip. Are you talking about the background characters that were literal stickmen? Because that was a pretty obvious way they managed to turn their low budget into a joke, with the way they did it (properly drawn characters staying right next to the background ones without changing the way either is drawn, stickmen staying as stickmen even when in the foreground).

I agree some of the parodies fell flat but saying it didn't have effort put into it is pretty unfair. It had accurate renditions of locations in Akiba, it talked about stuff only a very specific audience would know about (especially in the ham radio episode), it had hidden details in the background, it had well animated scenes...

I dropped it after the SF5 advertising episode. Is it worth picking back up?

The episode about TCG is the one that hit home with me the most.

Oh! I'm totally picking this one up! One day I'll play the original when I can read it but I did play the sequel and it's one of my favourite game ideas ever, and not too badly executed either.

There was no real need for more to begin with. Making it effectively a spin-off without the amazing gimmick of the first 2 was not going to end well. I'm content to ignore it and that's saying something.

If it's anything like the games it's much more comedic nudity than lewd. Even Australia gave the second game a middling M-15 rating. I'm just guessing the series appeals more to foreigners and less to the locals.

Normally I think shows are newer than they actually are, but here I feel like Akiba's Trip was way older than those shows, at least a couple of years old.

Akiba's Trip got kind of dull in the second half and I ended up dropping it due to having too many shows on my plate that season. But I did like it. The girls were nice, the MC was cool and I still occasionally listen to the OP to this day.
