Everything that happened to her, all that shit was on her own accord, she caused it to happen knowingly, she definitely deserved her own suffering.

Zouken is evil in a way that I can't even fully explain well because it makes no fucking sense. Some villains have goals that are ostensibly neutral or even good, but to accomplish these goals they have to sully themselves using evil methods (e.g. Griffith). There are villains that again have neutral or evil goals, but willingly use evil methods to achieve them even when there are other options (e.g. Pagan Min from FC5, Catholic Church from Hellsing). Then there are the villains who have evil goals and no qualms about using evil methods to achieve them (e.g. Gilgamesh). Finally there are villains who go out of their way to perform evil; evil is their main goal (e.g. Anton Chigurh).

Zouken fits into none of these categories. Zouken has his own evil goals involving winning the Holy Grail and corrupting it. He certainly uses evil methods to accomplish his goal, but the kicker is that most of the time he acts extra evil *to his own detriment*. Time and time again when faced with a choice he disregards the option that will advance his own goals and picks whatever is most instantly evil. Will he help his brother win the grail for him or sabotage his efforts just to see him suffer? Will he bide his time and wait for an opportune moment to kill Shirou or just attack him on sight to his own detriment? Will he manipulate his son and daughter to support his goals or just continually torture them until they're incapable of supporting him?

Zouken is the polar opposite of the superhero who saves a mass murderer and dooms his future victims to death.

She deserves every terrible thing that happens to her. She could have handled the situation way fucking better instead of cucking Futoshi. She promised to him to be with him forever and then not even 10 minutes later asks to swap.

Yes, Futoshi is a little bitch boy and looks desperate as fuck always crying over her. But there was no reason to break him and his trust like that.

Kokoro is smiling a lot of the time and you have to read between the lines if you want how she actually feels about something. Nothing about her behavior during his "confession" said that she was comfortable about it. Hell, the atmosphere seemed strained and awkward as hell from her end, and pathetically hopeful and desperate from his since he would cling to anything she gave him as word of god. It seemed like she went with it in a misguided attempt to be kind, or simply misread how seriously he was taking it, and also the very-Japanese idea of not rocking the boat and smiling through situations like this. Which she seems to embody most of the time.

You're also forgetting that they're also both clueless kids who don't know what a real relationship is or how to deal with other humans normally (even the adults fail at that, to be fair). Two stupid kids in a weird situation that have no idea how to deal with "people feelings" didn't see eye to eye, and he took it way too seriously while she didn't take it seriously enough. She left an awkward situation asap and he took it as high betrayal because she'd said "lol sure" to his "LET'S BE TOGETHER 4EVER" proposal. Also, looking at it from the command front, if this were to disrupt their sync then switching them away from each other may have been a really safe/smart tactical move.

Was it ever made explicit that it was romantic from her point of view? Or was it just a changing of the guard to keep partner compatibility up and/or support a teammate? Calling either of them bitches who deserve pain is like curbstomping someone in grade 7 because they panicked asking someone out for a date, then the other person afterward for panicking and fucking up the response to the invitation. At best, they should have their heads knocked together then be left alone to mature and learn from the mistake.

That's the kicker: Zouken himself his evil, but his goal itself is not. He only wishes to stay alive so he can fulfill his wish. The problem he has is that in Nasuverse logic, souls have a lifespan, and he happens to be some 500 years old. When he was younger, his wish was to create a utopia: The problem being, he himself was not a good person, and even if his intentions were good, he was screwed up from the start. When he moved to Japan, away from his native lands, his soul deteriorated even faster, and his objective shifted to just staying alive. He seems almost aimless because he has quite literally forgotten what he originally wanted, and devotes all of his energy to staying alive. He wants to create the Grail so he can wish upon the Grail to stay alive long enough to wish upon the Grail.

He did not expect to participate in the 4th Grail War, because he already assumed it would fail, and he could have Sakura's child (who would be much more powerful than Kariya) do it for him in the 5th War, which at the time was presumed to be another 60 years in the future. Kariya coming in meant nothing, because Kariya was too incompetent to win. So instead, Zouken decided to torture him for being a bad heir.

He doesn't want to kill Shirou at first. He doesn't care. In HF, he doesn't decide to kill Shirou until Shinji loses. When Shirou and Saber investigate Ryudou, he damn well nearly does kill him, and actually does in multiple Bad Ends. The only reason Shirou survives is Rider, who Sakura sends in to save him - something Zouken was not actually aware of at that moment. After that encounter, there is no reason to kill Shirou, since he's no longer a Master. If anything, killing him would be the random evil.

Further, from then on, Zouken could have Assassin kill him at any moment. He doesn't, because he wants Shirou to keep alive, since his presence aids in Sakura's development as the Black Grail, which is exactly what Zouken wants to happen.

Shinji is useless except for his penis, which carries Makiri genes. Sakura's only purpose is to take those Makiri genes and give Zouken a proper descendant who is actually tied to the land in Fuyuki, and can become a proper Makiri magus. The kid he wishes to create from them is the only purpose they have. And since Shinji is more than happy to rape Sakura, Zouken already has what he wants.

I definitely agree that Zouken is absolutely over the top in terms of how fucked up he is, but it's not as if he's random about it. It makes perfect sense why he does what he does, in the context of who the character is, and in the context of the story itself. It's just extremely difficult to imagine a person who is actually fucked up enough to go to the lengths that he's willing to go to.

Except he didn't. Rocinante went through everything Doffy did and still came out of it a moral person. Though I will admit that Doflamingo was the man who was asspulled to death. For all intents and purposes he should have had Law dead to rights on multiple occasions. Its just that the Ope Ope no Mi is pure bullshit. Also, Luffy being able to spam techniques from gear fourth, even though none of his previous gears had anything of that kind, with gear second being a basic speed and strength boost, and gear third being more of a form structured around delivering decisive, powerful hits. Not to mention he was surrounded by useless gimmick paramecia as his henchmen. With Diamante probably being the worst offender. Say what you will about Crocodile and Baroque Works, but at least he had some good DF's under his command. Mr. 1 and Mr. 4 alone are pretty serious. Though I guess Baby 5 has both at once. At the risk of going into off topic rant territory, since Griffith and Dio have already been posted, might as well round off the "did nothing wrong" trio.
