Nah. The whole point of the SoL stuff is the distance between it and the more serious shit that's going down. It's what makes HA work so well: On the one hand, you have the brutal Grail War murders and fighting of F/SN; on the other, you have F/HA, where you get to see how those characters could interact if they were just trying to keep the peace - Lancer goes fishing, EMIYA helps high school girls save cats from trees, Gilgamesh plays with a gaggle of kids, Saber is a fucking NEET because the only thing she enjoys is eating, Caster just wants to be a housewife, etc. Of course, F/HA still has its main plot, and gets a few cool action sequences as well, but all of that is secondary to the main purpose.
The SoL spin-offs work because of the assumption that TM fans like the characters, and that if you like a character, you don't always like seeing them get the shit beat out of them. In contrast, you have things like the fighting game spin-offs, where it's literally nothing but fighting with a layer of story draped over. And at the base of it are the VNs, which tie both together to varying degrees.
