D&D gets this right, all varieties of goblins still boil down to goblins but different, and most of that variety is generated by their characteristic crossbreeding and ability to "rapidly" adapt over many generations rather than some instantaneous change.

It's a matter of gobs preferring to live in packs because it's safer. They grow strong from "surviving" because they have to make it on their own until they find a new tribe to settle into (or procreate into) which causes them to level up. With the exception of maybe Goblin Champions, most of the goblin "evolutions" are just slightly bigger/stronger gobs. In theory, that could just be explained as "potential growth correlates with level, with higher level goblins having more room to grow, allowing them to become human sized." It could also be explained away as the goblin's "age" since most goblins probably only live to be two or three years old tops, and mostly only large tribes have specialists.

I think my favourite part of Goblin Slayer is that the battle style reminds me of Berserk.

GS needs to expand his gobbocaust. As is, they breed faster than he can kill them. He needs to start a goblin slaying guild and start training other autists to kill goblins. Except there is no money for killing Goblins unless you become high skilled and you can do enough to pull a profit. There is no money to be made killing Goblins.

Only reason why he is so good at killing Goblins and having $$$ is because adventurers don't hunt them so he has plenty quests to do (supply). His goals line up the quest itself while other adventurers are in it for the $$$ so they ignore goblin quests once they get high leveled enough to move past them.

So his goblin guild will not be a good business to start. There are enough quests to do, but the pay isn't there to pull a profit. So if he did find potential Goblin Slayer trainees, they won't stay long because they won't be paid enough.

You can't mass kill goblins because they are everywhere and pop up fast, breed fast, and move around a lot.

What needs to happen is not a goblin guild, but a goblin education program. Fuck adventurers. They're all cunts. The ones goblin slayer wants to save are the commoners, the villagers, the regular people. THOSE people are the ones that would benefit from general training and education on how to eradicate the pests. Train every village in the land to not only defend itself against goblins, but also to proactively eradicate nearby infestations, and the goblin menace will never be able to take root again.

Goblin tools are a shit and they mostly only steal food and women. In D&D terms, the weapons Goblin Slayer uses would have like a -2 or -3 attack penalty. Goblin loot is like the 3 GP you find on a good loot roll, maybe a copper or if you're really lucky, silver ring on a great loot roll.
