Not counting the Sea God island bit, they were on the boat for ten fucking years. Ten fucking years. I don't mind a two year dream, as long as they can charter a plane or magical bird back to the mainland. Or maybe that's blind optimism, and six years from now Miura will be looking back on 15 chapters of fantasia-esque sea creatures dogging the groups return boat ride, covered in his own ejaculate, clinging to life and his Idolmaster hugpillow.

The dialogue really isn't that important at this point given how glacial the story has been the last decade or so.
>>785447
I fully expect another decade on the return trip. Rather than quickly going back the way they came, they'll get diverted to a nearby landmass and be forced to return on foot/by horse.
Don't get me wrong. I loved Berserk, but I largely gave up years ago on ever seeing the ending to this series. The best way to end the series now is to just return us to the night of the eclipse and have Guts screw up Griffith's ascension somehow. It would be an easy way to see Griffith get btfo by the Godhand and then things can go back to the status quo. There's no way in hell Guts will ever be written well enough to explain how he could ever defeat the Godhand without some sort of major plot device. Of course, Miura could take a page out of FMA and make it so that the Godhand get weakened by reminding them of who they once were or something along those lines. An easier option would also to have the Godhand be individuals who mounted the power of gods and individuals who can be severed from that godly power. If they are actual dieties, there's no way to for Guts to make that jump without major asspulls. Regardless of how he eventually decides to tackle them, the Godhand will have to get "nerfed" down or given a major weakness that Guts can exploit. Not that it matters much though. It'll be another 20 years or so before Guts and Griffith meet again, based on how quickly things have been moving over the previous 20.

I think it's plausible for Guts to find power comparable to the God Hand, for two reasons.
First, as >>785512 says, his sword's been absorbing the essence of the monsters it's been killing, enhancing its effectiveness. Second, the Beast of Darkness is continuing to develop within Guts, fuelled by his rage and slaughter. It's possible that the same sort of function in which sacrifice can be used to turn a human into an apostle or God Hand could utilise all the people and monsters he's killed to transform Guts into something else. Perhaps he could follow the same path as Gaeseric and becomes a Skull Knight equivalent.

Femto transformation into godhand was never finished since Guts and retard is still alive.
Guts already killed one god. While he was close to murdering godhand.

I've got another take on this. Guts would never sacrifice any of his companions. After seeing first hand what hell people end up in if sacrificed, I don't think he'd even do it to a mortally wounded Isidro who was begging for Guts to use his life. But, as seen by the Egg of the Perfect World, concepts can be sacrificed as well. What if Guts was to give up his revenge against Griffith in exchange for the power of an apostle?

For what fucking purpose, after curing Casca, his only goal left would be to kill Grififth, not to become a demi-god. If anything, he would sacrifice his memories of Casca and the rest of his JRPG party in order to kill Grififth.
A worse conclusion would be if an ancient evil awakens, so Guts and Grififth have to join forces together in order to stop nacient evil, and in the process rekindling their friendships ala Naruto and Sausuke

I am not sure if the author even cares about what Berserk even means at this point, plus I'd argue that the sea god was an ancient evil, so who know what other bullshit is in store for us. Lastly, the berserk we are reading now is not the same Berserk from the Black Swordman arc.

I don't hate the loli, I hate magic. Silke has a good head on her shoulders/isn't a bad character in and of herself, but she was the gateway to introducing magic into the world that inevitably ruined the series. Up until that point the series was extremely magic-lite. There were demons, yeah, but Guts overcame everything with his own strength or with the strength of his companions later on. Even the Berserker armor (as shitty of a plot device as it is) wasn't horrible necessarily, but the introduction of magic ruined the whole grim atmosphere and put the series into the tailspin it's been on ever since.

It doubt that's what he meant. There were demons in the world, sure, we wouldn't even have a series if that wasn't the case. However, Guts has always defeated them with his own power and maybe a few gadgets. Compare that two "hold them back, I need some more time to solve our problem with a spell" or Guts going into super berserk mode thanks to his armor.

No. Pretty sure that's why they are the hand of god but not god itself. They are powerful but not almighty. The idea of evil probably is almighty but it is so far above normal existance that it doesn't even have an active will or personality. It existed since the beginning of time, as an sll powerful, eternal, eldritch presence, closer to a concept that a being.
TL;DR: Miura clearly watched Hellraiser 1 & 2 and took about as much inspiration from it as Dark Souls took from Berserk but he's much less open about it.

God gave Griffith complete control over everything theoretically. And God is the Idea of Evil, basically chaos god from WH working by same laws as them. Evil, despair and other nasty shit birthed him
And you can easily slay even someone who is almighty god simply if he wills it.
Basically godhand can affect causality and its their main power. And they can fuck with laws of reality unless they are not changing reality, but breaching prime material plane to the Warp.
It was stated that humans cant affect anything because they live in the world, part of it and therefore under complete control of its laws and laws state that you cant kill godhand. But someone like skullknight basically left world and fight them on their own terms. And Ganishka also turned himself into their equivalent with resources of whole empire.
BUT after that whole world combined with warp and basically turned into demon world. So technically laws of the world changed a lot. And Griffit never finished Eclipse and sacrifice, Guts and Casca still alive, I think its an important point. And technically you can turn the world into a better place therefore killing the Idea of Evil. But I dont think it will be so. I think berserk heavily inclines towards "you cant defeat evil on going on quest for revenge, you can only defeat evil by destroying evil inside you and helping these who are close to you." Pretty sure it was common theme for past years.
