The author of this manga made an anthology with other mangakas where they would draw "chapter 100 but without the other 99" like an epilogue to their ongoing mangas, that one is the one he did and by god its one of the best chapters in the series, if not the best one.

True for the most part, although some of his bits, like the postal service, did involve interacting with other people, and it looked to me like he enjoyed teasing Yokoi on occasion (it felt like he was more of a pedant with her attempts to use the mail system, the magic tricks episode, jacking up the prices of his appraised cups). But their relationship felt a lot more... I dunno, natural? entertaining? surprising? than the one in Karakai. Either one could "win," or they could both lose. Often, the chapter was just Yokoi observing Seki and trying to figure out what he was doing and why, without interfering. The dynamic was made more interesting with the addition of other characters - heck, my favorite chapter was when Seki's mom showed up and her and Yokoi teamed up. It was a lot more interesting than a rote repetition of "I'm gonna tease YOU this time!" "no u" "Darn, team Nishikata is blasting off again!" every issue.

I think you guys are looking at this the wrong way. Takagi-san is not about shenanigans and stuff like Seki-kun. Takagi-san is more of a romantic comedy.

That's why it doesn't really matter if Takagi wins it all, she loves Nishikata and teases him and tries to get closer. Further in the manga you don't even feel like Nishikata is 'losing', nothing really bad happens to him and he obviously likes Takagi too.

The core humor of the show hinges on Nishikata being a dense motherfucking baka. But he never even shows a hint of growth or adaptive learning, and they can only stretch the premise so far. It would have been much better if this was written as a one-shot volume or spread out over a wider timeframe, like following them from middle to high school.

Nishikata will eventually get older and the dick will begin evolving and assuming control over his body. At this point, he'll begin mercilessly teasing Takagi sexually. I just wish we could see it progress to that point.
