The panning animation seemed a bit off, but I thought it wasn't too bad as they seem to focus more on the fights. When they move as fast as they do a big sword that you can only swing once seems a bit pointless. That said I'm probably going to watch this as I enjoyed it.

Cute girls train to kill Aradama (monsters).
And there's a school tournament.
>What did you think anons?
It was decent.
Kanami reminds me about a female Goku, she's ワクワク for all her fights.
My hope is that this is going to be more about girl vs girl fights, the Aradama aren't interesting and seem weak (Kanami wipped the floor with Sayaka, who killed the Aradama centipede).

And there's the fact that the anime website lists the age of Kaoru (pink hair) & gaijin as 15, making them JK.
I also think they are directly listed as JK, I can't read Nip beyond Kana, but .高means high- according to the dictonary.

I don't think so.
But the ship itself is affiliated with the American Navy.
The police is kept in the dark, they aren't Yukari's servants and therefore are limited by regulations.
>Why were all of those policeman just standing around by it
They are probably not allowed to directly interact with the submarine.

The place was an old military base, it isn't unlikely that Yukari was in posesion of plans/blue prints from the old base.

I reckon we're in for two solid episodes of battle, after which I don't know what direction they'll go because it depends on the outcome of their fight with Yukari. Akane has the opportunity to tell the world about Yukari while the girls are fighting, so it will be interesting to see how it plays out. Unless Yukari orders the snipers to kill her, I guess. No I bet its going to be much worse than that. Like a flash back in time to the battle the parents had against the great aradama. We never saw it in full and have no idea how the parents became the sword spirits. Also main girl never remembers what she learns with her younger mother sword spirit. Its probably going to be 14 episodes of battle with long flashbacks or 2 episodes of battle along with that "the great aradama threw us into our own pasts now we have to fight our way out one by one".

Just to keep the conversation going here, I know 12.5 was a recap episode, but there are 2 reasons why this ep actually works
1) It wrapped up the first half pretty well, though terse for some parts, did not linger until the wrap up, so anyone who's been on the fence about this can catch up easily.
2) It's a 12. 5-emphasis on the .5, and won't count against the episode count (think Moetan if you remember).
Plus, it made the second coeur feel like something fresh might happen, though, as a poster a few above mine, did point out.

I think they're dragging out this setup too long. Maki is obviously one of the hooded figures, though I'm not sure what her motivation is since she's fighting aradama and also apparently stealing noro while trying to be low-profile since she isn't using her prior okatana. Yume is probably coming back as an aradama puppet sooner or later. Yukina seems to have given up fetishizing Yukari and moved on to directly serving Tagitsu or some other aradama, and Yomi along with her.
I've had my fill of the political handwringing. Get the girls back to their partners already, they're all miserable just working like dogs solo. Last episode Sayaka looked like she was ready to kill herself if she couldn't see Mai.

They had a spare submarine and hidden port in Japan just for the nonsense in the first cour. Do you really think theyre not going to get everything possible out of noro? Be glad they didnt try to make noro into a weapon of mass destruction or try to tame, weaponize, and mass produce aradama.

That was a surprise. To see actual blood in this story means shit is going to hit the fan bigger than before. Still sad the little shitter from before >>804812 isn't coming back.

Not really a show to compare it to, as this has no rom-com element at all. It's more like the aforementioned Schoolgirl Strikers or like Sky Girls than anything with any real romantic intent. Maybe a hint of some isekai (MC's Mom, if you want to count it), But it's a joshi swordplay and camaraderie show.
CGDCT, only with blades.

I stopped watching a few episodes ago, I was only there for Kaoru at that point. It's a pretty boring show with typical bad anime drama. They should've removed all the political shit and made it 13-15 episodes.

The politics doesn't help. The sword fighting for fun is what everyone signed up for at the start. The only thing nice about the current state is the aradama princesses are cute and Kaoru being Kaoru.

They need Hiyoyon to lead their party on a vigilante quest again. Kanami doesn't have the will to disobey orders.

Creepy Ayumu seems pretty happy even though she's brainwashed. I think Kanami was feeling here some of what Sayaka felt earlier in the second half, the distance between skill levels. Maybe Kanami needs noro doping to defeat Tagitsu.

Shes the saving grace of pretty much all the episodes between the end of the first cour and now. Finally it seems the politics are over and swordfighting is centerstage.

>Hiyori absorbs the hikki aradama
>Becomes lightning god but also being consumed by aradama
>Twintail princess shows up and wants to fight
>Hiyori suddenly masters not being eaten alive by power and wins against twintail princess
>Kanami takes on Ascended God Hiyori
>Wins immediately
>Twintails returns and turns the tables
All of this could have been beautifully animated fights and power/character development instead of the politics. This felt like way too much content for 1 episode plus 5 minutes of the previous episode. Shit is probably going to hit the fan now with twintail princess being the last aradama standing. Its like we are back to episode 10 or 11 now minus Hiyori existing.

I'm sad that this show doesn't have the budget or time to animate everything properly. The few moments that we do get always blow me away, though that might be because I'm comparing them to such trash from the rest of the episode.
>>830687
At least this is consistent with the pacing of the rest of the show. We either get 10 major plot points an episode or massive exposition dumps.

I'm enjoying the hell out of this show. I would have been happier if parts of the second half were condensed, but I think these last few episodes will make up for it. We're going to the netherworld soon.

Yukari also lost to Tagitsu twice, but she's probably stronger than Kanami when she's rested and prepared. The toji from her time were a whole different class of fighters, thanks to the 20 years of relative peace Yukari brought. But they're pulling in some sword mythologies, so relative abilities are kind of a tossup. Each sword probably has some inherent talent.
Also, this fight and its outcome was suggested several episodes ago by pic related. Furthermore:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tachibana_D%C5%8Dsetsu
>Dōsetsu was in possession of a famous sword called Chidori (千鳥, A Thousand Birds). One day, while he was still a young man, he was taking shelter under a tree, as it was raining. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning struck him. However, Dōsetsu used his Chidori to cut the Thunder God inside the lightning bolt, allowing him to survive. After this incident, he renamed his Chidori to Raikiri (雷切, Lightning Cutter).

>used his Chidori to cut the Thunder God inside the lightning bolt
Somehow he was standing under the tree and holding the sword out or above his head, perhaps wiping water of his face, when lightning hit the tree, arced onto his sword and grounded through his body. Alternatively it arced to the sword then back to the tree. Regardless some non-swordsman observer from a few hundred years ago would say he cut the lighting and avoided death. Surely the swordsman would say the same considering the alternative of just being a lucky bloke.
The cutting lighting story is a bit more terrifying and romantic than being a lucky idiot.

You can say that again. I thought it was supposed to be that she got super strong from training with her mum all the time, but who even knows.
This show is okay but I am really just bored with how long its taken to get here. The first cour had a decent build up and climax, but the second has just felt totally tacked on, rather than as a continuation that builds on the first.

Im getting concerned that last week was the climax. This whole rescue green/get the sword back story was so simplified it felt out of place and certainty was not drawn all that well despite many characters returning and allying (usually reserved for climactic battles).

The girls have fought with Tagitsu so much it kind of lacks the gravity of a battle to save the world. I hope things get insane for the finale, or it's going to end on a tepid note.

We did see all the budget they had left for a sword fight though. It looked nice but lacked the impact of a big sword fight. The princess didn't move much despite being superior for most of it. The whole Jin thing where it seemed like they were dimension jumping was silly powerlevel non-sense just to eliminate side characters. Why couldn't they just get their utsushi's cut up?
