As for meetings, just as Megumin met Wolbach, Eris took pity on her loneliness and created an avatar just so she would have a friend. Not only that, she also got her ass saved from Alderp's machinations repeatedly, again by meeting the most likely only person that would be able to do so, ultimately saving her from an arranged marriage.

That would explain why Kazuma is constantly being shit on despite having insane luck while being able to win consistently at things like rock paper scissors or other "luck rolls". Well its not a big deal in that world because Luck isn't considered important for an adventurer.
