Do you ever try to limit the amount of chapters/episodes you read/watch? I have tried it a few times. However, some of my favourite series I have powered through non-stop.

I am limited to 1 episode per week or 2 - 3 episodes per BD release.

Yep. Perfect example is FlipFlappers. I avoid watching seasonal anime and prefer to grind out entire series in the highest quality all at once. I got two episodes into FF and decided it was too good to not savor. Same thing with LoGH. After the first 20 or so episodes I forced myself to limit it to an episode a day max.

It's necessary for any show that's remotely CGDCT because if I don't limit it then I feel depressed for 24-48 hours after watching the last episode. Almost happened to me recently with KonoSuba but having the LN translations available to read afterwards alleviated it.

I don't often have the luxury of choice when it comes to that matter because I'm always feeling rushed to catch up to that fucking backlog. And then there's some old jap movies and books to read and other stuff to learn, so my backlog will never actually see an ending in this lifetime.

But it does happen on its own form time to time, when a show is too... overwhelming, emotionally, for me to handle any more episodes that day or week.

Flip Flappers was such a wonderful show. Will gladly re-watch it, one day.

I did/do exactly the same thing as you.

Personally, I never go above six episodes a day. Most of the time I don't watch six, it's usually four, unless it's a really good anime series. However, I only follow one (good) series at a time. I make exceptions for seasonal anime of course.

I understand perfectly the sentiment of wanting to watch something in as high a quality as possible, but son, you missed a lot of good Flip Flappers threads.

 No.764123

Not anime but I just started Index New Testament ln and I've fallen in love with Kamachi's story so much that I've started slowing down reading them, because when I finish them, the in universe story is over, but if I still have something to read in the future, I can always continue imagining that the story goes on.

But its great to discuss anime when its released and anticipate episodes every week. Although some shows aim to fix shit quality only in DB release so it might feel wrong. Diamond is unbreakable is perfect example.

 No.764464

If it's a show that I feel is worthwhile in some way I don't watch more than two episodes at once per day, but usually take longer breaks in between sessions. With more mediocre or simply not thematically heavy things or less-investing shows etc I may marathon them with no regrets.

Flip Flappers was the shit.
