Let's discuss character designs and designers.
I'm a fan of Range Murata's style.
No.754894
I like Quzilax
Also has anyone else notice that a lot of good artists are shying away from pixiv? People like Quzilax and Nishiuri/cocomero use it to host their art less and less and are focusing on twitter and tumblr to showcase their art.

Hetza has a pretty interesting visual aesthetic, but I have never seen him translate it into sequential art.
No.754898
All the ones responsible for the characters in the Atelier games are really good.
No.754899
I like Chamaji. They take the Touhou designs and personaility and stylizes each of them differently enough so that the characters unique characteristics are brought to the front and emphasised. Also their take on the slaughtermelon is one of my absolute favorites.

Wilbell is top tier design.

Right you are, Ken. Rorona's design is my favorite though.

I love namori's style so much. The soft features are great.

I really dig Kobako Totan's style.
No.755040
Ryuta Amazume. I love the lips that he draws. Besides, all his series covers a different fetish; loli, SS, BDSM, genderbend, ect.
No.755042
I'll be damned if I can recall any of the artist but I dig these styles.

I am terrible with names, but I at least know of asano.
No.755047
>>755042
Do you dig Asano's style in general, or DDDD in particular?
No.755050
Shuuzou Oshimi. I really like the way every shadow, texture or different color is clearly drawn by hand with a ton of individual pencil lines. It gives his drawings a sketchy look.

I've had moments where I've forgotten my own name.

The art style in general. DDDD is pretty good for what it is.

Chamaji is really nice and cute. Nicetack is also good, but his stuff is a bit dark.

Pixiv went on a censorship spree, originally to get rid of tumblr-level western artists, but overreached and smacked some genuine jap artists as well. So these days artists usually post their rakugaki on pawoo or twitter before uploading the finished work on pixiv, if they upload them at all.
No.755085

I agree, the reason I asked is because DDDD has a pretty distinct style compared to Asano's previous works.

Are we namedropping our favorite artists?
I like Kashiwamochi Yomogi. The way he draws and colors makes the girls look so squeezable, even the cutting boards.

>Jouji Manabe
Draws top-tier /fit/ girls with a nice variety of tits and floofy hair.
>Satoshi Urushihara
He's an amazing artist who draws big shiny titties (I know some people have issues with how he draws nipples, but for the most part they don't really bother me) and awesome looking metallic hair.
While they both suffer from sameface, I like that despite the passing of time they've retained distinct late 80s-early 90s art styles.
No.755217

Agreed. His designs in Lain, and Texhnolyze are some of my favorites.

I remember plastic little just because of the nipples and lesbians
No.755230

What's really enjoyable about them is just how much variety and personality he puts into them. each one is distinct. No sameface, no template, like Oda or Kishimoto.

Second picture is from Erica aka Naze1940 and the fourth is Daito.
Dunno about the rest though

Does anyone remember the name of that artist who would draw pretty realistic art but would still have girls have faces like ">_<" in that realistic style? I think he drew a touhou doujin at some point.
I can't remember his name for the life of me.
Anyway I like his art.

Caught you, Hetza.
It is a shame he hasn't made any attempt at something more than one-off drawings with recurring characters, like that other Anon said. Ogros is an artist I really like and he finally put some of the characters he'd been drawing for a while into a manga.
No.757206
I'm quite fond of tanu who is behind the design of Flip Flappers and The Rolling Girls.

If someone ever hired henreader as a character designer for a loli only CGDCT anime it would be immediately in consideration for best anime ever made. In a similar sense, Tanabe Kyou has drawn a few parody manga where his style really stood out. It would be nice to see Tanabe get a character design role too. This guy >>755099, Noise, and many others too.
Drawing for an animation project is probably stressful compared to drawing for doujin works or even serialized manga. I guess that might be why so many don't do it, saying nothing of the competition to get such a role.
