I've fallen behind on this series since the Forthorthe arc started, but I've seen people talking about how the series is going to be around 40 volumes long lately. Can someone tell me where they are getting this from? How is Takehaya going to stretch it out that long? It seemed like it was getting close to the end.

The 40 volume number comes from the vol. 26 afterword apparently, but I can't read nip and it isn't translated yet so I can't confirm it. In the vol. 25 afterward Takehaya said that the series has an end point and after that the cast will return to a normal life. He then asks readers how they would like the series to continue if at all. He then went on to list some of his ideas for future stories.

He mentioned that remnants of the radical faction are still around, so he might do a story about that. He also said that he'd like to do slice of life chapters set after the ending.

He said that if he does this that he would have to do one for each of the girls. His editor apparently liked the idea and mentioned possible limited editions with character related goods.
