Yes. Actually there aren't too many of those segments, but the few there are (and especially the school festival episodes) are pretty jarring.

I rewatched it earlier this year to get ready for season 3 since last time I watched was when it was airing and I was finishing high school, and the way I see it, if they got rid of all the high school stuff it would be a much better anime with way less inconsistencies, especially in season 2. The poor attempts at SoL seriously hold it back in terms of quality, but it was probably responsible for a lot of the fanbase it has.

Honestly, there are so many ways to enjoy pizza and I think even with some unusual toppings you can make it quite delicious if you know what you're doing. And while I generally do tend for the more 'traditional' with mushrooms, ham and pepperoni, I do enjoy all kinds of other variations from time to time.

The mistake EVERYONE makes is using fresh juicy pineapple. You have this watery piece of fruit in the middle of your bread, meat, and sauce. Problem is you'd have to get the pineapple just right for this specific use, because dried pineapple would burn up and be a piece of ash, or at least way to crunchy and flavorless.

So basically pineapple on pizza is good in theory, but you'd never see it done in any large-scale operation or casual homemade situation.

It'd probably make a good episode of Food Wars because everyone can chatter about what hot garbage it normally is until Soma busts out his new preparation that solves the wet and dry problem.

Just chop dried pineapple into a smaller size and then sprinkle it on after the pizza is done cooking or shortly before it's done. Personally the problem isn't the sweetness but the texture and consistency of fruit, which doesn't really go with the rest of the dish. It's like putting apple slices on a sandwich, the taste may be fine but trying to chew the apple while eating your sandwich ruins the whole thing.

First off it's a buffet, so naturally the pizza is cheap. The bad thing though is that they try to get inventive. That place brings in weirdos with horrible taste in addition to the shameless fats that frequent any kind of all-you-can-eat establishment. The place's specialty is macaroni and cheese pizza. They have a few non-pizza items on the par and one of pasta with choice of sauce. They basically set a batch of pasta noodles aside and drizzle it on a cheddar cheese pizza.

Hell if I know what the hell it's supposed to add. Seems to me like they're just trying to be different to gloss over the fact that their food is only passable.

And yes, they make hawaiian pizza, and one of their staples is "dessert pizza" that's 1/2 Bavarian cream, the other size is apples and cinnamon.

Shirobako was an ok SOL but it had no plot and I didn't give a shit about the characters. Doesn't even hold up a candle to Code Geass.

Shirobako was quite the masterpiece, Code Geass aside, you really haven't watched it.

Now, judging Code Geass. It was great, not bad at all, but it suffered from 3 things:

1. The "Death Note" effect, or, the "Psychological" bias. It's very hard to convince your audience that some character is a genius when in fact the author is directing its will onto it and the story.

2. Edgy. Cringe edgy, and high school even.

3. Low story value, character development and relations were king in the story (which is not a problem), but if you're judging a "masterpiece", "the best of them all", it shouldn't have shortcomings.

Now, if Shirobako is close to being a 10/10, Code Geass is 9/10.

There are many other animes deserving being talked about regarding this topic, but it's not worth to develop loads of text in a discussion that is ultimately based on taste.

Code Geass is the MGS of anime. Both are overly loved where people say it's the best and then there are people who say it's shit. Both deal with a huge cast of characters with a convoluted plot filled with conspiracies as well. Both had tons of plot twists. Both provided numerous autistic threads which were also fun.

Most definitely Kaiji. It's the most thematically complete work, and the universe it's in is fully realized. It never has a moment that breaks the immersion of the setting he's in, drama never drags on one part too long like most battles in anime do, and it keeps in mind what the point of the show is the entire time.

No. The SoL parts were really bad and some of the plot developments like when he accidently told that chick to kill all the Japanese were just plain stupid. They could've done a lot more with it than they did if they took it more seriously. Still, I'll give it credit enough to say that it wasn't awful (although I must say that it is unenjoyable during a rewatch, or at least it was when I tried).

I prefer the original as well. I liked Brotherhood, but I prefered that the original gave more build up for the various homunculi. They got glossed over in Brotherhood and I never cared much for the Asian trio. I like the original shambala ending, where Al and Edward go on another adventure together to foreign lands. It left a lot more open for future adventures and the final Brotherhood boss was really lame.

I think the original did the ending batter than the manga ending as well. I feel the same way about Trigun. Vash disappearing with Knives into the sunset was a better ending than Knives turning back into a tree.

I don't remember exactly, but I think it's in season 2 when Lelouch loses his motivation for one reason or another, probably something related to his sister but I can't even confirm that.

I just remember him being emo in an underground garage or construction area and then Karen shows up and he has the good memories drug that killed her brother. She doesn't let him shoot it, then Lelouch tries to fug her and she doesn't let him either. It's one of the most emasculating scenes I've seen in an anime. It's the type of scene people ignore when talking about how good Code Geass is.

That shit is so good I'm going to go figure out which episode it's in so I can share my joy properly.
