do you think yugioh has gotten better as a game over the years even with the addition of a new extra deck mechanic every few years, or is it a dead horse at this point?

also why hasn't konami released support for the god cards yet? it's very disappointing.

Not trying to be a fag about it but MTG is the only mainstream card game worth getting into right now

true kek but it's one of the only decent card games that are more skill than luck based

My friend runs a brick & mortar game store and says that the yugioh TCG players are smellier than the smash players. He's postponed one of the tournaments to tell them to go home and bathe, and only three quarters of them came back.

I've played the game from the beginning (grew up with it), and didn't really stopped until link summoning. All the extra deck mechanics are actually really good, except for link summoning.

Syncros are cool because they require careful planing, as you need to achieve the tuner and non-tuner requirements plus they have to equal the level. And I think anyone can appreciate a turn one quasar summon. Xyzs are really good, as they made consistent monster levels a necessity, and they're easy to put into any deck. Pendulum are ok, honestly their major flaw is not having many decent archetypes. The only unbalanced and unfun to play against pendulum deck was majespecter (made me leave the game for half a year, was very salty).

But links on the other hand ruined the game, as in order to summon more than 1 extra deck monster at a time, you need to use link monsters. Not to mention they make most non-meta xyzs useless, as they just need x number of monsters (no same or different level rules). I'll try the game again when April comes, as they said they were removing the whole link requirement for non-link monsters, in other words you can actually summon more than 1 non-link monster.

TL;DR all of them are good additions except links, which were a clear cash grab. Also, in April they'll remove the requirement to have links.

MTG is not worth getting into, every card set (except regular land cards) after 4 or 5 card sets will be banned from modern (the main format).

While Yu-gi-oh has some serious power creep, losing the value of cards over a few months is retarded.

Also right now, none of the mainstream card games are worth getting into, unless you have a group that will play a previous meta/format with you. The problem with card games these days, is that they continue getting support for way too long.

>Imagine thinking that Magic is the only decent card game that requires more skill than luck

Guess 90% of other card games don't exist

This is true for any group of fan boys. I mean go to a Street Fighter tournament and like 65% of people there will smell awful. Dunno why tournaments and events attract the worst people, you would think that these people would be mega neets.
