Extract this, overwrite game.exe and use kof13climax.exe to start the game. controls can be configured in the typex config

Is it possible to get this dump running on actual Type X 2 hardware?

 No.378

Not sure about that but i'm guessing if you managed to get standard windows installed and drivers for the type x hardware such as the jvs card then maybe it would work if you ran it without the loader

Every single TTX dump will run on a TTX2.

How? I have a couple of TTX2 main boards, and it would be nice If I could run this game in my JVS cabs without having to buy a JVS-PAC or similar extra hardware.

KoFXIII is a TTX2 game by the way.

 No.413>>414 >>424

all TTX games will run on Real hardware, you click the exe and they play IF YOU have the correct 7900 GS and a real JVS io. IF you want to play the game with a diffrent gpu, and not having a JVS io board you need to load them, with the Typex_loader.exe .

>IF YOU have the correct 7900 GS

I hear any 7900 GS can be flashed with the correct BIOS and it'll work?

 No.423

any Gpu can be flashed with he bios of the same

You can flash all 7900 7950 ect --- > to a 7900 GS

you are also required to have a proper jvsio

I'm not following you here. Can I simply plug in an empty hard drive into my TTX2, install Windows on it and then run dumps? I realise it's basically a PC, but I don't think it's that easy.

 No.425

I don't own a TypeX but if it says press f12 to select boot device when it's booting then you should be able to boot off a windows install disk and install it but if it will only boot off it's hard drive and nothing else then you could install windows onto an empty hard drive with another computer and put it in the TypeX and use it. if you do get windows on it then finding drivers for the thing (excluding the graphics card) and the dongle would be your next issue

Yes, You can run this and all dumps on a Real Taito type X assuming your type x has the following

7900 GS

3.0ghz p4 or better

1gb ram or better

You cannot however use a basic windows install as the jvi io and other drivers for the motherboard are hard to come by, what you need to do is use a stock TTX drive image this will be a windows xp embedded Japanese version you can find this windows install in the chd files for any ttx that is inside mame, or you can use a pre built ttx drive image like on arcade-projects., You can also build your own drive image but keep on mind device drivers are going to be a pain in the ass.

Tdldr Yes all TTX dumps that dont use a TXAC decryption work on a Real ttx2 by clicking the game.exe As long as your windows install is setup with the right drivers, or you are using the original windows install

the current list of games with on the fly file encryption that do require a loader even on a real TTX are KOFXII Climax and SSFEAE1.3 the other 20 dumps do not have this feature and work

Thanks for the info. I have the chd for Spica Adventure and KOF98UM. So I'm assuming I can use a tool like chdman and put it back on a real hard drive? But these are TTX1 images, will they boot on my TTX2 without issues? I'm guessing it won't complain about the lack of a security dongle either.

Also, TTX games are set to auto start upon booting. Do I have to worry about that with a mame chd?

 No.431>>435

you will need to mount the drive on another pc if doing it that why and remove the shelled application ie launcher.exe to use it as a normal windows install again if your going thought that id use a pre done image that is already set you can find these on arcade-projects forums.

 No.432>>435

>>427

Aren't those encrypted though? Don't you need a dongle to make it run?

 No.435

>>431

All right. I'll look into finding a pre done image. Thanks for your help.

>>432

I have a genuine copy of both Spica Adventure and KOF98UM and they indeed do need the USB dongles to boot. I don't know anything about chd images that's why I was asking. I got them from a torrent a while ago.
