Story of a guy who heard a voice calling his name to go into the woods. There have been many stories since ancient times of mythical creatures that lure people out to their deaths but the monsters involved differ across stories. In the Appalachian Mountains is a story of something that people call "the bitch in the woods" that looks like a nude woman in stream, luring men. From shapeshifters to invisible creatures, numerous stories about how people disappear in the wild to these cryptids are told. I've never had any strange occurrences happen when out in the wilderness.

These beings are obviously intelligent, but their behaviour makes little sense to me.

I was watching a skinwalker video and this guy describes them at one point as being able to call out people's names.

This video is also great. There are some good videos if you sift through related videos. Many channels are usally a whole bunch of nothing though, just someone in the woods talking to their camera instead of recording something, still better than clickbaits and hoaxes at least.

Sorry to say but this is obviously fake. Look up Content Aware Fill for photoshop and you'll see it's the exact same effect.

The bitch in the woods sounds like the hulder from Scandinavian folklore.

Have had my fair share of interactions with these things before due to living in thick forest Appalachian wv.
Very very nasty creatures.
Not only can they shapeshift but they move faster than anything ive seen before.
They kill dogs and shit so you run out trying to help your pets or random dogs and then they follow for a good couple of months feeding off your fear and paranoia.
The best way to deal with them is starting taking pictures if you ever encounter one. Idk if its because they dont wanna be found out but they hate pictures so much
