4chan is GAY, its becoming another regulat plebbit. What the hell is going on with these once “free” sites becoming censorship bastions? Is this a government subverting event?

They came for us 4 years ago, and so we left. That's why we're here. If you decided to stay on 4chan in the wake of Gamergate and The Fappening's censorship you only have yourself to blame.

Any site that gets big enough, gets subverted. Usually it's just a matter of money: the person or company in charge of running the website needs to make it more family-friendly in order to please the ad networks, so any 'questionable' content needs to get banned. Sometimes it's also a matter of ideology: Reddit is notoriously managed by a small group of radical leftists, and anything they find offensive gets censored or quarantined. Same with Wikipedia. There are many groups trying to use these sites to influence the public discourse, and some of them could be affiliated with the government, but I think it would be a mistake to blame all the censorship on a single big government conspiracy.
>>43730
I would say, better late than never. A lot of people keep using 4channel simply out of habit, which is difficult to give up, or because the Gamergate/Fappening scandal didn't affect them directly.

They want ad money, free speech scares advertisers away.

Most of them stay there because 8chan is "slow" even though 90% of posts of halfchan are unreadable garbage. A bit how like a lot of /v/ threads look really busy until you see half the posts are a pointless "post yfw" image chain.

I have no disagreements with any of what you say. Im really starting to wake up and see the value of real free speech. I went on ‘1/2 chan’ lol becuase I thought somewhow it had escaped the wrath of pc tyranny. Just yesterday I come to find it has a lot of the same bs rules as reddit, buts keeps the “facade” of free speech.

Compared to Reddit, 4chan is a free speech paradise. I mean, you can actually argue with someone and even be rude without having to worry about being downvoted into oblivion. At worst you'll get called a faggot or told to kill yourself, but you get used to that after a while. Every subreddit I know of is basically an echo chamber by design, because even though in theory the downvote button is supposed to be used to deal with spam and trolls, in practice it's just community-driven censorship. And then you have to worry about the rules on top of that. Many subreddits have a long list of ridiculous rules like 'your account has to be at least this old to post here', 'you can't link or even mention that other subreddit because it's full of bad people', 'remove that part of your post and resubmit it so mods can approve it, etc.
So yeah, I can see how 4chan might have looked good to you when all you knew was Reddit. Unfortunately, you were late to the party. This place is about as free as it gets, at the moment. Welcome and enjoy it while it lasts.

Truth. Any site that gets big enough is going to turn to shit eventually. If this place keeps growing, it'll happen here, too. When it does, don't waste time and energy hanging around and bemoaning the fact, just pack up and move to the next place. If you want freedom online, you gotta be a nomad.

Free speech was just a shitty left wing meme in the first place, there never has and never will be an open "marketplace of ideas". It's a concept that is only good for subversives, which is why it's being eliminated now that the globohomo Borg are in control. Free speech is useful to us now, but the fact that it was so instrumental in the nation-wrecking scum coming to power in the first place proves it was a mistake to begin with.

I browse this board sometimes when halfchan's /x/ has not a single good thread. The internet in general is just getting dumber unfourtunantely, people dont want to read and would rather be dripfed through youtube, people dont want to read on halfchan so 8ch is much better for actual discussion. Its a shame really you would think more censorship would congregate smart people into one area against censorship but it instead seems to have splintered people into their own smaller fourms.

>Why is it so hard to find decent people…
The macro-cosmic reasons for this are pure /x/.
There has been a coup on "the other side". We are currently in the midst of ongoing spiritual warfare & the latter stages of that coup. Moreover, it is said that less than 20 [or so] seers on this planet are able to remote-view what has actually taken place, hence why no one speaks of this. But the word is getting out.
The reason why it is so difficult to connect with like minds IRL is that we are each one of us subject to nothing less than classic Divide & Conquer strategy by the enemy [the hold-overs on the losing side of the coup]. "Keep 'em Divided" & we are weak, but together we are strong. Hence why we are even here, lurking the chans: For no other purpose than being in search of compatriots.

Seconded. Though it certainly depends on the boards. Just today my post commenting on the Jewish origins of all superheroes in comics was deleted. In my experience /co/ has the worst mods of all the 'major' boards.

Then why is there never any thread on /sudo/ complaining about them, but thousands about the mods of /pol/, /v/ and /b/?

Firstly, /co/ is a lot less active than any of those boards - by a long shot. All the top three or so boards are likely to attract a lot of trolls and shitposters and epople trying to cause drama.
/pol/ is a battleground; SJWs and leftists and whatnot trying to stir up trouble, rightwing and alt-right trolls doing it for the lulz. It is impossible to please everyone when the board is all about discussing politics.
I have seen Mark sperg out on /v/, but I have never encountered anything bad on /v/. The few times I have seen the mods do anything obvious it has been banning obvious trolls.
/b/ is truly terrible now though, I'll give you that, and the mods are not helping. When I tried posting there lately, several of the VPN IP addresses I used had been banned unjustly. Just power-hungry mods who couldn't take the bants. No rulebreaking at all.
/co/ is the worst offender I have encountered, hands down. They'll let you rant about SJWs ruining comics, but if you aren't praising superhero comics that apprently isn't the board for you.

4Chan didn't generate a dime until they brought in the pass to skip captchas. Moot stated that the j shop ads would hardly break even for 4chan usually. I remember this one mobile only ad where it was a guy screwing a watermelon with the advert "This one weird trick will grow your dick" or something. The site has gone through hell or back just to stay alive.

>buy 8chan pass for $10

Isn't that how it works on 4channel? You lose your pass if you get banned.

On 8chan you're more likely to get a board ban than a global ban for spamming. And most BOs/BVs already tempban for spam on a first or second offense so the same spammer could just leave a bot running for weeks on end before eventually getting perma'd from every single board.

I'll tell you why: Because the physical realm is literally the end of the line, pleb. Everything here is simply the final result of something that had its beginning "over there" in the spiritual dimension, for lack of a better term. Think about it.

No. It isn't. Admittedly, it's not even /xpol/ [exopolitics+] tier [pic related]. But no matter. On a half-dead board with threads that move at near glacial speed, who cares anyhow? In the sense that something is still far better than nothing. So let's not stop! Or as it is said in Liber Legis: Exceed! Exceed!
