I asked a friend who's a history nut if he'd come across anything about Julius Caesar fighting giants on a campaign. He said no, which means the giants' agents got to him, as well.

I don't remember reading about Julius Caesar fighting giants, although he mentions that the Gauls made fun of the Romans for being shorter than them. However, Maximinus Thrax was a Roman emperor who was reportedly 2.50 metres tall, and there's been speculation that the Thracians were a race of giants. Ask your friend if he knows anything about that, and if he denies it, ask him how does he explain the oversized helmets, weapons and jewels made by the Thracians, or the 3-metres-tall statues of Thracian warriors made by the Romans in their honour.

Anyway, this is a sculpture by Australian artist Ron Mueck, entitled 'Wild Man'.

I have a book about Celts that makes no mention of giants at all, but then I read online about Senone giants fighting Romans at Allia. After looking into it more, I've found no primary sources to refer to.

 No.38875>>38879

>>38801

I can't seem to find anything either. As you've said, some sites describe the Senones as giants but provide no quotes from primary sources for this claim. Maybe Livy or Herodotus talk about it in their histories. One of the sites mentions that the swords used by the Celts were of enormous size, 96 inches/8 feet/243 centimetres long, and gives French archaeologist Henri Hubert as source. Assuming it's true, we can speculate that the men who wielded them were about as tall as the swords were long.

A famous Frisian warrior and rebel who lived in the 16th century, Pier Gerlofs Donia, is estimated to have been 213 cm tall (about 7 feet) and he wielded a correspondingly big sword. According to Wikipedia, "Donia was noted for the ability to wield this great sword so efficiently that he could behead multiple people with it in a single blow."

I'll do some more research tomorrow…

 No.38879>>38895 >>44057

>>38875

I read the same, 96" swords. Which has me skeptical as the Battle of Allia took place in 390 BC, or which is in the Iron Age. The reason being is that steel during this time period was not advanced enough to craft swords that long without the sword bending. Although, I could be wrong here as thickening the sword may counter this, which is possible for a giant's strength and would explain beheading multiple people in a single blow. But even 50" swords were very rare for this time period, anywhere. This would likely mean that the giants would have to have been technologically advanced in metallurgy.

(Long post, but relevant, I promise.)

Just a thought: according to ancient religions, giants were the offspring of the gods and human females (sometimes the opposite).

The Book of Enoch is an ancient text supposedly written by Enoch, an antediluvian patriarch who was Noah's great-grandfather.

>This first section of the Book of Enoch describes the fall of the Watchers, the angels who fathered the Nephilim (cf. the bene Elohim, Genesis 6:1--2) and narrates the travels of Enoch in the heavens. This section is said to have been composed in the 4th or 3rd century BC according to Western scholars.[67]

200 'angels' decided to rebel against the orders of their supreme leader and mix with mortal women. Their sons were said to be of gigantic stature, 135 metres tall, or more probably 13,5 mt (44 feet). The fallen angels taught their children many things, including metallurgy.

>And Azâzêl taught men to make swords, and knives, and shields, and breastplates, and made known to them the metals of the earth and the art of working them, and bracelets, and ornaments, and the use of antimony, and the beautifying of the eyelids, and all kinds of costly stones, and all colouring tinctures. And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways. Semjâzâ taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, Armârôs the resolving of enchantments, Barâqîjâl, taught astrology, Kôkabêl the constellations, Ezêqêêl the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiêl the signs of the earth, Shamsiêl the signs of the sun, and Sariêl the course of the moon.

Basically another version of the myth of Prometheus. And just like Prometheus, Azâzêl was punished by 'God' (the king of the elohim) for disclosing information that should have remained the exclusive domain of the gods.

>the Lord said to Raphael: "Bind Azâzêl hand and foot, and cast him into the darkness: and make an opening in the desert, which is in Dûdâêl (God's Kettle/Crucible/Cauldron), and cast him therein. And place upon him rough and jagged rocks, and cover him with darkness, and let him abide there for ever, and cover his face that he may not see light. And on the day of the great judgement he shall be cast into the fire. And heal the earth which the angels have corrupted, and proclaim the healing of the earth, that they may heal the plague, and that all the children of men may not perish through all the secret things that the Watchers have disclosed and have taught their sons. And the whole earth has been corrupted through the works that were taught by Azâzêl: to him ascribe all sin."

The techniques that the Watchers taught their sons must have been quite powerful, if they 'corrupted the whole earth' and posed a threat to the existence of all men.

It's also interesting to see that the angels were described as having blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. This is a passage from the Book of Enoch telling us about the birth of Noah:

>Enoch speaking “My son Methuselah took a wife for his son Lamech. She became pregnant by him, and brought forth a child, the flesh of which was white as snow and red as a rose; the hair of whose head was white like wool, and long; and whose eyes were beautiful. When he opened them he illuminated all the house, like the sun; the whole house abounded with light. And when he was taken from the hand of the midwife, he opened his mouth to Yahuah Elohim.

>Then Lamech his father was afraid of him, and flying away came to his own father Methuselah, and said “I have begotten a son, a changed son. He is not human, but resembling the offspring of the angels of heaven, is of a different nature from ours, being altogether unlike us. His eyes are bright as the rays of the sun, his countenance glorious, and he looks not as if he belonged to me but to the angels. I am afraid lest something miraculous should take place on earth in his days. And now, my father, let me entreat and request you to go to our progenitor Enoch, and to learn from him the truth, for his residence is with the angels”.

So Noah's father becomes scared because his son doesn't look like a human, but like one of the nephilim/giants. Now, hypothetically speaking, if some Celtic tribes really were giants, could they have been the descendants of the nephilim? In which case, it wouldn't be weird that they'd possess relatively advanced knowledge of how to heat and treat metals.

You might be thinking of the Cimbrian War which happened about century before Julius Caesar's time. The Cimbrians were barbarians who suddenly appeared on the border marching towards Rome and rolling over Roman armies. Roman historians described the Cimbri as giants with white hair who were immune to cold, practiced ritual sacrifice of prisoners, and rushed into battle by snowboarding on their shields down mountains. Those Roman historians did not witness any of this first hand and they should probably not trusted. Anyway, Roman only survived because the barbarians dicked around in places like Gaul for two years while the Romans remanned and modernized their army. When the Cimbri finally made their final push to Rome, the Romans were ready. There is still no consensus on who these barbarians were exactly. Dan Carlin tells the whole story in an episode of Hardcore History entitled "Thor's Angels."

Study up on the mound builders culture, native American lore, early explorers accounts of giant natives.

Pic related, 8'4 skeleton from California was on display travelling around for a while. Beside it are a doctor and a man from the ((Smithsonian)) who both verified it real. It was bought for $500 in the 1900s by the ((Smithsonian)) and it never been seen since.

The sumerians said the anunnaki gifted them their ancient cities and great buildings when they returned to where ever it was they came from the previous time. The sumerians did not build them themselves. They also said they buildt the pyramids, and they also said the father of enki and enlil, "God", said it was good that they aligned their buildings after the star map. As we all know the pyramids are aligned to the stars. So the anunnaki buildt the pyramids and gifted them to man.

So is this true? It could be just another level of mindfucking, making us believe something because it amalgamates all religions, and therefore seems true..

And let's not forget they were probably draconians.

7-8 feet tall is obviously not outside the realm of possibility for humans, but a whole tribe of people that tall would have seemed like giants to regular sized humans. Also I don't believe that the average Scandinavian 18-year-old is 7 feet tall.

I also have noticed how the muslims call themselves SLAVES of their god. It seems the religion which insists the hardest on being slaves to their god instead of having inherent human rights, is the religion that thrives and takes over. It is also said that the anunnaki let the kings of men take over, to rule in their stead, and thus kings rule by "divine" right, and can disregard human rights and abuse people however they wish, "because god supports it".

The principalities have been at this game for a very long time, and I don't think they will stop anytime soon…

Anyone here familiar with the "Giant of Kandahar", a supposed living nephilim giant? Will post a truncated account for those who are interested:

>The soldier tells Marzulli his unit made its way along a goat path near a cave where the team noticed an unusual pattern of rocks, bones, and, ominously, a broken piece of communications equipment of the type used by the American military. While pondering this, the team was surprised by a man “at least twelve to fifteen feet in height.” The creature had long, red hair and skewered one operator, identified as “Dan,” with a pike-like weapon. The remainder of the team opened fire, repeatedly shooting the creature in the face and eventually killing it. The full length of the engagement was only 30 seconds.

>After the battle, while mourning their fallen comrade, the military sent a helicopter to remove the creature. “It was too big we couldn’t move it,” the soldier claimed. “It smelled worse than a skunk -- a corpse that’s been around for a while. The communication was sent out that we had a very large, possibly human creature.” But the soldiers were told afterward to “rewrite” their after-action reports.“So we had to rewrite it the way they wanted it,” the man claimed.

>[Another soldier] testified there were rumors at his base in Afghanistan about the engagement with what become known as the Giant of Kandahar. “We started hearing a rumor about a unit that killed what they were calling a really tall person. At first I didn’t think anything of it. I come to find out that the person they killed was actually three times the size of a man, had extra digits on their hands and on their feet, and had red hair. A special unit had come and wanted this target. We’d heard they’d killed this thing inside a cave or the mouth of a cave.”

File (hide): a210513d77d0b86⋯.jpg (54.51 KB, 551x412, 551:412, gok2.jpg) (h) (u)

>The soldier alleged the rumor was actually widely circulated among military forces in Afghanistan. “There was common knowledge among the military to hear this,” he charged. Years later I came to find out when I had returned from Afghanistan and had met other military members that had not been in the operations with me. If you would bring up the Giant of Kandahar they’d know about it.” He confessed the story sounds ridiculous. “At first you think, this has got to be a joke, this has got to be hoax,” he admitted.

>“Then after things go down a certain way, and you keep hearing it, you start to realize it’s not a joke. They kept telling us to keep our weapons high, which means normally you are ready to put two in the chest or in the head, but they kept telling us to put it towards a man’s head and put it higher. So we would question why do they want us to shoot higher than a man’s head?”

>The soldier also said local people told seemingly ridiculous stories about giants who would attack humans -- even eat them. “We would hear the locals talk about rumors of these giants,” he said. “They said they would live in the caves and they would eat people. They were cannibals. At the time, we compared it to tales of Bigfoot in the United States, every culture has this kind of folklore. To actually all of a sudden hear that a military unit had killed something though…”

I am inclined to believe it's an urban myth/campfire tale shared amongst soldiers but the parallels with red-haired Peruvian mummies and biblical Nephilim are intriguing. And it's a cool story anyway.

 No.44086

Call me crazy but I think they're still here. I think they live underground for some reason, maybe they're afraid of the sun. There are many myths about the hollow earth and how it is inhabited by different races. One of the most important ancient pagan rituals involved the pouring of liquids (milk, wine, etc) on the ground; it was meant as an offering to the gods. Why would they pour milk on the ground if the gods lived in the sky?

>>44077

The way I see it, humans were originally ruled by the gods. Then the gods started having children with human men/women, and those demigods also became kings/heroes. But after some time, the divine blood had been diluted by too much interbreeding, and the nobles became human just like everyone else. But they discended from the gods, and that's why they had a right to rule - 'divine right'. After Christianity became the dominant religion, they gave this phrase a different interpretation: the king or emperor was able to rule because he received his legitimacy from the Pope, who was God's messenger on Earth. And thus the original true meaning was lost.

>>44079

Yeah, I've read that story many times because it's always mentioned in discussions about giants, but there are different versions of it. In one version of the story, the giant was almost invincible, and they had to repeatedly shoot him with anti-tank bullets to take him down. The one you've posted is more believable. The fact that the story seems to confirm the descriptions of giants in the bible, in my opinion, shouldn't be seen as a point in its favour, because we have to remember that there's a lot of fundamentalist Christians in the USA, and some of them might have made the story up.

That doesn't make any sense, anon. Giants have nothing to do with the place of birth of mankind. They could just say that giants existed but came from Africa, and their theory would be safe. I think this could be more about the theory of evolution itself. If the giants were real, some people would start saying 'see, we told you so! the bible is the word of god and evolution is a scam!' and other people would say 'humans were created by aliens, now we have proof!'

If they found a hitherto unknown race of giants outside of Africa, that would raise some serious questions about the validity of their out of Africa theory. I can't think of any skeletal remains of alleged giants being found in Africa.

The Biblethumpers are sadly making any researchers sceptical of looking into alleged giant remains. No serious scientist would like to get mixed up in that crowd and be viewed as a nutjob.

The god was Marduk and the goddess was Tiamat, but to be honest I don't remember that story too well. I don't think it was complete nonsense, because ancient people were not stupid. It might have had a hidden meaning that only few people understood. In occult circles, this is called the difference between esoteric and essoteric knowledge. There's several mentions of giants from the codex AND Cortez diaries.

That one Wiki article mentions "Race of giants from the mesoamerican mythology, according to the Legend of Five Suns these guys were created in the Rain Sun, with their leader being Tlaloc" Then Quetzacoatl came in as the new boss, made the rain become fire and burned these fellas. Rain Sun was the 3rd period, we are supposedly a creation of the 5th period.

The old mesoamericans state these were the guys who build the ancient cities of Teotihuacan and the first phase of the Tlachihualtepetl city, in which subsequently the locals made a mound pyramid on top of it and later the spaniards buried all of it and placed a church on top of it in their classical doctrine of buried earth.

The tough Tlaxcaltecs (castrated at some point in their existence) say they fought, for some unknown reason, with the last remaining ones shortly before Cortez' visit. In my opinion due to knowing the absurd warrior culture the tlaxcala guys had probably it was because of their bloodlust and overall warring honor they had, although if these guys ate people then they probably asked for it, even if they were a race of advanced men living in post-apocalyptic conditions/mood. The codex picture is a recreation of said war scene, the tlax were probably about to eat the guy as revenge knowing their tricks.

There might be more info on it, but we might not found it again due to Fray Diego de Landa antics, a franciscan who was send by the King to convert the mayans by any means, and some of those means involved buying/stealing/getting any kind of literature or document and burn it, along with demolishing a couple of temples, at least the ones that could be done. A lot of the codex we have these days are smuggled goods or goodwilling soldiers/spaniards who took care of them (doesn't help the Vatican bought a lot of them even recently)

/pol/ mentions injuns didn't have a lot of document or buildings, ignoring that they got their shit fucked up really hard by the spaniards (cannot say catholicism in general due to the portuguese not doing anything near the same). All this probably due to Europe's massive problems dealing with the 12 tribes association and the lack of a spare one to link it to the american population, thus denying they existed in the first place. That happened for a good century until nobody could deny a lot of unexplained shit coming back in ships.

Are those 'periods' basically the same as the 4 (or 5, according to Hesiod) ages of man talked about in ancient Greek and Indian literature? It's interesting that this myth explains the existence of the giants in ancient times as the last survivors from an earlier age. How tragic that only stories remain of them, and even those are few and incomplete. Sometimes I like to imagine how cool it would be to find a book dating back to antediluvian times.

>Tolteca

>Tulan

I seem to be mistaken, that pic mentions that those guys might be Toltecs, and the name Tulan refers to Tollan (Capital City), which refers to Tula or even Teotihuacan or Cholula/Tlachihualtepetl, although not likely. Pic related are the four giant warriors overseeing the pyramid, second pic is The Burnt Palace.

It fits as Wiki mentions the Toltec dynasty founder Topiltzin, the first king, was a valiant warrior often paired or identified with Quetzacoatl.

Topi is somewhat contrasting as a figure, other than his godlike cult of personality he seemed to be highly affectionate to his people and restructured all the priest class so to avoid any human bloodshed/sacrifice and made the said priests more strict by implementing a celibate doctrine along with not drinking/getting high, the 2 major sins he considered that destroyed man.

This jumps against his wartime, as he seems to have used scorched earth doctrine to win the land he managed.

All this stuff in my opinion suffers from chinese whispers syndrome, as most written documents are from aztecs or post-apocalyptic mesoamerican dwellers whipped by the moors, all done centuries after the facts and mystifying/over-exaggerating them as supernatural deities like the chinese do with their wuxia/kung fu kings. One thing for sure is that these guys said the toltecs burned an advanced tribe of giants around 910-923.

I'm not versed in this as i'm learning with you fellas, but it seems that central/southwestern mexicans were a bunch of wimps/subhuman-tier, all their empires/dynasties were founded by foreigners, Toltecs and Topi were from the Bajio/Northeast area.

No idea bud, but it seems at least the other tribes around the same time had the same stories, but they mention only 4 suns.

>a book dating back to antediluvian times.

I once knew a guy who lurked a lot, he was a complete piece of trash as a person and perhaps as a friend (knew him little but knew his buds), nothing good came out of him but i could see he knew a lot of stuff, and i still find puzzling one thing he said to me (one of the last conversations we had): I asked him what he thought about ISIS shitting and bombing ancient sites and artifacts, and he said it was another case of jews in covert groups destroying the remains of a misunderstood ancient world.

Seemed somewhat like a /pol/ rant i agree with on the basis of instinct but over years his theory fits well enough with some facts, sounds rambling but the israelis have been known to horde all artifacts found in Palestine and Jordan, as far as raiding with military the latter's excavation areas. They grab old bibles and throw them in museum warehouses never to be seen again, ISIS is almost confirmed to be a Mossad operation and they are known to smash and bomb museums and archeological places to smithereens, the U.S. army did extreme damage to a good chunk of Iraqi sites and museums (the main Baghdad museum was bombed in the initial invasion raid) along with selling stuff in the black market.

Hell even the British, the eternal anglo and pawn of the jews according to the good guys back at /pol/, known to be THE premier explorers are also known to horde, buy and disappear precious artifacts all over the world, and were well known to also smash old native american places, although a minority of them along with the basque military were also known to preserve them (New Mexico/Arizona)

Lara Croft and Indiana Jones are even unapologetic stereotypes of the typical british/jewish explorers stealing treasures for profit and obfuscation of facts.

It keeps happening, the reason why they do this might be simply attributed to merely their evil nature, but there has to be another, more complete reason.

The popol vuh provides a lot of insight and commonalities between the early Mesopotamian and dilmun.

The way Islam acts in contrary to the ashtiname of muhammed can tell us all a lot about where their modern doctrinestandsin remain to it's prophets teachings
