I asked a friend who's a history nut if he'd come across anything about Julius Caesar fighting giants on a campaign. He said no, which means the giants' agents got to him, as well.

I have a book about Celts that makes no mention of giants at all, but then I read online about Senone giants fighting Romans at Allia. After looking into it more, I've found no primary sources to refer to.

I can't seem to find anything either. As you've said, some sites describe the Senones as giants but provide no quotes from primary sources for this claim. Maybe Livy or Herodotus talk about it in their histories. One of the sites mentions that the swords used by the Celts were of enormous size, 96 inches/8 feet/243 centimetres long, and gives French archaeologist Henri Hubert as source. Assuming it's true, we can speculate that the men who wielded them were about as tall as the swords were long.

A famous Frisian warrior and rebel who lived in the 16th century, Pier Gerlofs Donia, is estimated to have been 213 cm tall (about 7 feet) and he wielded a correspondingly big sword. According to Wikipedia, "Donia was noted for the ability to wield this great sword so efficiently that he could behead multiple people with it in a single blow."

I read the same, 96" swords. Which has me skeptical as the Battle of Allia took place in 390 BC, or which is in the Iron Age. The reason being is that steel during this time period was not advanced enough to craft swords that long without the sword bending. Although, I could be wrong here as thickening the sword may counter this, which is possible for a giant's strength and would explain beheading multiple people in a single blow. But even 50" swords were very rare for this time period, anywhere. This would likely mean that the giants would have to have been technologically advanced in metallurgy.

Just a thought: according to ancient religions, giants were the offspring of the gods and human females (sometimes the opposite).

The Book of Enoch is an ancient text supposedly written by Enoch, an antediluvian patriarch who was Noah's great-grandfather.

Basically another version of the myth of Prometheus. And just like Prometheus, Azâzêl was punished by 'God' (the king of the elohim) for disclosing information that should have remained the exclusive domain of the gods.

The techniques that the Watchers taught their sons must have been quite powerful, if they 'corrupted the whole earth' and posed a threat to the existence of all men.

It's also interesting to see that the angels were described as having blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. This is a passage from the Book of Enoch telling us about the birth of Noah:

So Noah's father becomes scared because his son doesn't look like a human, but like one of the nephilim/giants. Now, hypothetically speaking, if some Celtic tribes really were giants, could they have been the descendants of the nephilim? In which case, it wouldn't be weird that they'd possess relatively advanced knowledge of how to heat and treat metals.

Call me crazy but I think they're still here. I think they live underground for some reason, maybe they're afraid of the sun. There are many myths about the hollow earth and how it is inhabited by different races. One of the most important ancient pagan rituals involved the pouring of liquids (milk, wine, etc) on the ground; it was meant as an offering to the gods. The way I see it, humans were originally ruled by the gods. Then the gods started having children with human men/women, and those demigods also became kings/heroes. But after some time, the divine blood had been diluted by too much interbreeding, and the nobles became human just like everyone else. But they discended from the gods, and that's why they had a right to rule - 'divine right'. Yeah, I've read that story many times because it's always mentioned in discussions about giants, but there are different versions of it. In one version of the story, the giant was almost invincible, and they had to repeatedly shoot him with anti-tank bullets to take him down. The one you've posted is more believable. The fact that the story seems to confirm the descriptions of giants in the bible, in my opinion, shouldn't be seen as a point in its favour, because we have to remember that there's a lot of fundamentalist Christians in the USA, and some of them might have made the story up.

That doesn't make any sense, anon. Giants have nothing to do with the place of birth of mankind. They could just say that giants existed but came from Africa, and their theory would be safe. If they found a hitherto unknown race of giants outside of Africa, that would raise some serious questions about the validity of their out of Africa theory. I can't think of any skeletal remains of alleged giants being found in Africa.

The god was Marduk and the goddess was Tiamat, but to be honest I don't remember that story too well. I don't think it was complete nonsense, because ancient people were not stupid. It might have had a hidden meaning that only few people understood. In occult circles, this is called the difference between esoteric and essoteric knowledge. Another possibility is that ancient myths were written in a way that allowed for multiple levels of reading, like a very condensed form of knowledge that was easy to remember.
