8Chan, the man-o-sphere, and similar forums are comprised of what are basically the functional equivalent of wizards, occult scientists, and demonologists of the 21st century.

Moreover, just as alchemy and similar fields were, in large part, the pre-modern proto-scientific forebear to modern chemistry, much of what today is dismissed as "bro-science", that which is rejected by the mainstream, will certainly be considered obvious and mainstream a century (even less) from now.
