This had never happened before but a week ago a Cardinal bird started to try to get into my car. This is the third time. It happened during two mornings a week ago and just now 11 miles from other 2 instances. What does it mean?

My uncle once told me a story about how after my grandmother died, there was a cardinal in his yard (he lives in what used to be my grandparents' house) for a few days after my Grandma died. He never gets cardinals in his yard.
