I know this is an overused meme in a sense. But I constantly have encounters with these beings. Often during harsh or difficult times in my life but sometimes randomly. I think they are attracted to fear and feed on fear. And our mental state when sleeping or half awake or under the influence of hallucinogens is conductive for them to prey on human beings. Although they are unable to feed fully on myself as I get enraged on encountering them and try to physically fight them. When I can't move or breathe I panic initially then I get a bit of consciousness and try and call out after them. I also encountered in my dreams a "plague doctor". In the dream my house was damaged, my wallet was stolen, my parents died, and my girlfriend cheated on me. Prior to dreaming about this my girlfriend did indeed cheat on me. A few weeks later my house caught on fire. A few weeks after that my wallet got stolen. The plague doctor was a humanoid but had the head of a crow. And their were crows flying around him that would bite and attack him. IDK what I'm trying to say here but even people I know who believe in ghosts, demons, etc think I'm full of shit about this.

I feel like that's the shadow that ducks out of the window when you're home alone and feeling uneasy.
Anyways I sleep pretty good always, in March 2016 I tossed and turned all night and had uneasy dreams. The second night, I woke up and there was a black figure darker than the blacked out room standing over me and it wooshed away. It made me wide awake and I just started laughing cause I had caught it and it fled.
As far as your post OP, it wasn't the best time in my life, my girlfriend had died the day before the preceding Halloween of 2015 and my brother had moved in and was non-stop talking about the ghosts that lived on the 3rd floor of this retarded 1990's built mansion in N.California.

The usual explanation is that shadow people are just a figment of your imagination. But how can so many different people have the same hallucination?

Sleep with a flashlight. If sleep paralysis prevents you from grabbing it keep a light shined where the shadow usually appears each night.

This board is getting weird…I try to post here and it ends up someplace else. Anyway, last try. The only book I recall on this is called 'Darkness Walks' ISBN# 978-1933665375. There is another better one, but its missing and I don't recall its title. I'll nose around on WorldCat, and if I can find the title, I'll post it later.

Dear Anon, this is something i used to struggle with… This is what helped me.
1. Get off dope, change your externals (friends who claim to not rob you but still do, shitty town, house, and etc.)
2. It may not clear up in extended sobriety - and this is ok… If you stare into the void long enough the void stares back. At this point obviously you are not strong enough to repel these beings/perceptions on your own. So you must seek help of either the spiritual or psychological.
3. Hagravens arent just a Skyrim thing man. They go back to the scarlet Dragon - sorcerers who prey upon spirits to bolster their own strength. Also called nightmares for some cultures. Stereotypically one is inflicted with not just sleep paralysis but one feels 'exploding head syndrome' - you can't breathe a loud static or ringing plays through your entire body. The best way to combat this is to live a balanced lifestyle (diet, /fit/, prayer or faith - its equivalence even occultism. Negative entities prey upon the weak, so remove yourself from the herd.) This may or may not explain your plauge doctor thing…
This isn't a cure - its a treatment, you must remain on top of your rehabilitation. I'm not spouting stupid AA bullshit - I am saying if you cannot muster the will to combat, then you cannot muster the will to live life or live it free!

I guess everyone's welcome to share their hallucination stories here
I know I'm interested in reading your experiences
>I've smoked weed for 7 years.
>Quit quite recently only a month ago
>I've had 2 hallucinations in my life. Both have been brief. We're talking 0.5 and 3 seconds brief.
>It was a late evening in 2015 I was 18 y/o I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom. When I saw something in the mirror.
>This time I was also high on weed and a feeling a little tired.
>I looked back. And across the hallway inside the kitchen I saw a silhouette made entirely of dark gray smoke.
>It didn't have red eyes or anything
>(although others who have sleep paralysis have seen these exact smoky silhouettes with red eyes).
>In that brief moment I felt as if it was staring right at me as intensely as i was staring at it.
>The disembodied soulless, demon or nephillim offended me with it's presence for 3 seconds.
>Before my god given eyes quit recognizing it's presence or it dimply decided to dissolve itself before me.
>Didn't feel afraid after the encounter.
>Can't say I appreciated the novelty of the encounter either
>It was a late evening in 2014. I was 17 y/o high on weed in my couch. When I glimpsed something move in the corner of my right eye.
>I looked right and saw the latter part of a black cat walk into the kitchen.
>Hadn't owned a black cat in over 5 years.
>I think about what I saw whenever someone mentions the paranormal.
>I don't consider ghosts to be real.
>[While I at the same time consider fallen angels and demons to be real]
>I like to think we all have a antediluvian wariness of cats and other wild animals. It's our fleshy disposition.
>Being drunk on psychoactive substances can magnify this very visceral and maladapted awareness of feral animals.

Hi OP, sad to say that I am intimately familiar with the particular thing you're describing. Specifically the would-be cowman. Your conjectures on the preying of specific mindsets is accurate to some degree, but I'm sure that gets discussed here often enough. What worries me is that based on what I've seen of this thing so far, it is fairly level headed and while it does commonly do favors at no cost to exact justice the only other way to attract his attention is by bargain. I wouldn't fear him, but you maybe, who somehow managed to insult him so badly that he felt the need to remove from you the thing he sees as most sacred, that being the home.
Were you kind to your guests? Were you a good host?
There's only a couple ways I know of to piss this thing off and if it wasn't a direct result of treating visitors of the home poorly or treating a host poorly in his own homr then it could only be by bargain with someone who convinced it that the punishment he was exacting was justified.
Good luck with that OP.

I personally have only seen shadow people twice, but I see black cats made of smoke pretty often. I saw the first one when I was around six. It just walked into my room, tail and ears down and then walked into the corner of my room. it stood there and then eventually appeared to dissipate and then it was gone. it happens around 2-3 times a month, 4 times some months. And if I'm lucky, I'll get sleep paralysis in the middle of it happening, but most of the time I can move. I've tried getting up and moving towards the cat, but every time I've tried it just dissipates as soon as I'm out of bed. Suggestions as to what I should do?

They're beings outside of our dimension, they can't physically interact with us, people only see them in altered states like sleep paralysis. They feed on your negative energy. Overcome your fears and they disappear

A term used by morons of the O9a, who worship a false old one, Baphomet (in truth, Banebdjedet, who they brutalize in their worship into a female without any resemblance to the 4-headed Ram that inspired the Cherubim of the bible).
They don't even know what the El are, and assume that things that call themselves 'God' aren't real at all.
A pity, if they knew enough to fight the enemies of man, they'd actually be worth something.
Good to know you're just a student of psychology, and not one of those fools, though at least they seek to tear down the false orders of man.

They are interdimensional beings.
Maybe demons, fallen angels or
djinns. Similar experiences are recorded through out human history, all over the world.
I had problems with them a while back. They are irritating, capable of manipulate your emotions in various ways. They feed of "negative" emotions i.e. Negative energies.
So the cure is simple.
Avoid react to your "negative" feelings.
Be kind to yourself, and pray.

Spent 6 days straight on a ice binge, 4th day starting seeing cunts.
5th day was off tap and didn't touch the shit, spent most of it just zoned the fuck out and seeing shadow cunts (knew I've been hitting the pip and knew I could lose my shit) but kept my head right just rode it.
6th day was on n off sleep
(you only reach to a certain point of sleep, you're awake but not),
and only mull (cannabis) to have. Got to sleep (kinda/better) that 6th night.
So shadow cunts and invisible mosquitos is what Tina will give you on the 4th day of twirling.
That was 20th of Oct 17, good times lad.

They didn't talk to me or anything, they would be in a dim area near the room's corner or just at the front of the BP when I was about to cross the road.
Fucking meth, mind you, my mates were seeing the same cunts.
Just static, elusive figures mate.

Astral projected last night but mistakenly thought I had just woken up (my method for leaving my body is simply to "sit up" in bed.)
So I "sat up" but had the sensation that I had been assisted or pulled into that position.
Then I became aware of two dark figures in cloaks, the one on the right had hat like a plague doctor's.
Went straight back to my body.
