That is definitely an eye.

We all know that eyes are important. The all seeing eye. That's why google and others have colorful logos, to represent the iris. They are watching us.

Huge pineal gland statue hidden in plain sight at the Vatican. I'm sure you already know this, but the pineal gland is the 'third eye' spoken of in esoteric teachings and it was traditionally represented as a pine cone.
