Dream analysis.

Ill try to keep this short

I have had a series of recurring nightmares.

two of them were particularly bad.

Here is a short hand version excluding some random BS

DREAM ONE:

>In a bar, reminiscent of one in my area.

>Crazy man following me around

>He pulls out a knife.

>Follows me, stabbing me with the knife over and over

>only using the first half inch or so

>virtually torturing me in public, stabbing me in the sides and slashing my arms.

>>>I Scream out for help in the bar, blood pouring out of my sleeves

>no one cares

>Bartender gives me a machete

>I wait till the man turns his head

>Ram it through his chest, he falls over on it

>Five mins. pass he gets up and pulls it out

>>>I put my arm on his shoulders and say "Well looks like you're dead now, like me…"

>Follows me around stabbing me more

>Somehow I manage to escape

>out side the bar hundreds of people are just running around

>They're not scared, just a mob of people. appearing to be running towards something

LAST NIGHT

>At some weird outdoor gathering.

>Move to a gym/indoor convention center

>Man has a make shift "can opener" (basically a table saw)

>I give him a can of food to open with the saw

>It works, but barely

>I let out a small chuckle in mockery

>Guy freaks out

>>>Takes the lid of the can

>Tries to restrain me and starts slashing my forearms with the jagged tin can lid

>I pull my sleeve over my arm slightly blocking the slashes

>He keeps slashing and slashing trying to pull my sleeve down (trying to torture/punish me)

>>>Hes following/chasing me up stairs. He pulls what seemed to be 5 throwing knives

>In the middle of a giant crowd, (some faces recognizable)

>>>Absolutely bloody as fuck, pouring out of sleeves i'm screaming and begging for help

>everyone just watches

(wake up/scene skip?)

-later on in same dream

>A really good friend I had an extremely bad altercation with IRL appears in my dream

>get in a scuffle

>In a sort of bear hug, basically being crushed

>>>Completely restraining me, I become totally exhausted

>says something like "You're too weak" or "I can feel you fading" but it was more sinister

Not all of my dreams involve the blood and violence but in almost all of them, at some point, I get this feeling im dead/dying or outright say "I'm dead" or something similar.

Slept in on the day of the eclipse

>Had extremely fucked up dream

>>>Pitch black, thunder storm. Started floating towards my ceiling, forced myself down to the floor

>TONS of weird religious symbolism. (Even though I rarely exposed to that kind of imagery)

I don't look at gore or watch horror movies. The "darkest" content I take in is probably the old school Fallout games. Which can be gory at times but isn't psychologically disturbing

Any thoughts?

>Pic- a cross was drawn in blood on my forehead in the nightmare I had during the eclipse (I've almost never scene this type of imagery)

 No.35573

alright, i'm a little new to dream interpretation, but i'll do what I can

>public bar means want to escape stress

>someone else holding knife means they are inflicting hard choices on you

>attacking means choices are harmful

>bleeding means loss of vitality

>your own blade and attack means you have the capacity to counter these issues

>people running in unison means you believe people are in on something, leaving you out

second:

>outside represents freedom

>moving inside indicates loss of

>saw means you should stop doing something

>tin can means something you wish to preserve

>bleeding, same as before, loss of vitality

>chasing means you are trying to avoid someone, or are insecure about something

third:

>hug indicates love and trust

>fading indicates loss of imagination and motivation

>sinister tone means you believe you are being coerced

And a cross in it's standard position means suffering, matyrdom and death. I'm not sure how to peice this all together, but those are the symbols as I see them

It's hard to tell without knowing you, but the feeling I get from reading your violent dreams is that you're depressed or you hate yourself but you're not conscious of it or you're not doing anything to get better, so your mind is forcing you to deal with it. The fact that in your dreams nobody helps you could mean that you feel hated by society or you have low self-esteem (and don't deserve to be helped).

The dream you had on the day of the eclipse is really creepy. It sounds like you were abducted or attacked by some spiritual entities.

I've had a reoccurring dream of my own since I was 7 years old. You'd think I'd forget it, but it happens at least once a year, sometimes twice or three times per year. Pretty much what happens is…

>Be in bedroom

>Raptors break down backyard fence and come into house

>Always implied that my family is slaughtered, but I never see any of them in the dream

>Run through various traps and puzzles trying to escape the raptors

>Pretty much like the original Jurassic Park kitchen scene, but about 10x more terrifying

>Always somehow manage to escape the queen, only for one of her brethren to jump at me

>Always wake up right as I'm caught

There's just a few things that are strange about this reoccurring dream because of their consistency…

<1. I'm always my current age in the dream.

<2. The dream always occurs in the current house I'm living in.

<3. If non-house members are over, they always appear in the dream and get "jumped" before I look away and never find out what happened to them

<4. I always remember my past mistakes and correct them, even if I've long forgotten what they were in my awakened state, allowing me to last longer in each new dream rendition, even if I sleep less time in one rendition vs. another, and even though the physical layout of the house has changed sometimes.

Last time, the last raptor in the house was leaving when they finally caught me up on the rooftop. I'm worried about what will happen next year when the dream occurs, and the year after I'll be on a boat, so I'm unsure how the raptors will reach me there.

>>35571

I think something's trying to control you or command you, OP. At the very least, they're trying to mentally weaken you. I've never had a dream where my image physically got hurt, as I always wake up if I'm about to be hurt in my dreams, even if it's just cuts or scratches. I've had my limbs "detached" in a dream before, but they were still fully functional and I didn't really notice the detachment.

Strangely enough I've never had nightmares about raptors. I was terrified of them when I was a child, my imagination made me see them behind the glass door of our bathroom whenever I went to pee.

Learn to lucid dream anon. You are on the right path since you clearly have some dream recall. Dream diaries (updated on a daily basis) and reality checks are not an option. Do it. Face your fears. Overcome them. You will come out stronger on the other side.

Are not optional is what I meant. You must do these things.

I think that the man himself ties the three dreams together. Both anon and the man begin in the bar. Like you said he wants to escape from the stresses given to him, but the man follows him in. I think the man is either someone close to him, or symbolic for some authority over him, influencing him. The man follows him around all the time, appearing within both dreams, inflicting hard choices on him. These choices become harder by the mans appearance, it's not normal or anything that anon is accustomed to receiving. This would cause the hard choices to become jumbled in anon's mind, and these choices made without clear understanding will cause negative effects on anon. The knives take away his happiness, health and sleep, and eventually after trying to leave the bar he retaliates. What happens is the man that followed him fell with him, and when it was over anon wanted to make peace. The man wanted none of it, and continued to harm anon, even into the second dream.

With the second dream, the mob probably represents those around him that he doesn't truly know, being beckoned to something that they don't know but anon subconsciously knows. The anon is outside, feeling good for once, and is completely free. The affects of the man had taken it's toll, and so he goes to the gym to get his life in order. The man is already waiting for him, and offers him something he shouldn't really have in exchange for something he cares about. The thing offered did not help anon much, so anon tries to leave it only to find out that what he had offered caused what he had loved to be less lovable and his vitality decreases.

I think the continuation reveals who the man is. I think the man is some old friend, or past lover. They're confusing anon with different emotions and are not being completely honest. They still have desires, but there is just not enough to keep things together.

Basically, maybe it's an old friendship or relation that no longer works, and whenever you're about to find freedom it draws you back in.

Not really a nightmare, but more than half (say, 80%?) of my dreams are about my old apartment. They often include meeting with the people I've known there.

I had a dream that I was being stalked. Someone had been repeatedly breaking into the tiny apartment I was living in, and rummaging through my things. Weirdest thing about this was that I was not myself. It was an older individual I've never seen before and he knew why someone would want to be keeping tabs on him. The apartment was a two room flat and building itself was constructed with corrugated metal siding and consisted of several flats linked together in a long row. The room itself consisted of a drawer bed in the corner opposite the door with a nightstand, a closet next to the door on the adjacent wall, beyond that on the same wall was a small entertainment center with a tv, then there was a counter with a sink. A minifridge was tucked in a space underneath and a hotplate was on the top. On the window side of the room was a desk and some shelving. Paper was everywhere, on the desk, tacked to the walls. I don't remember what they were for but they were important. They stressed me out and I think I was an alcoholic. The next room of the house was the bathroom and shower. The floors were blue carpet which terminated to linoleum in the restroom.

The complex itself was located somewhere tropical, as there were palm trees in the jungle across the parking lot and they were swaying violently in the storm occurring that night. It was a full moon too so the room was dimly lit in the glow. I don't think the person I was in was from the area, just there to work on something. I only ever saw the room at night, because my dream about this person began when he was trying to fall asleep. I got up to kill a roach that I could barely see in the dark, but the bulb in the desklamp had gone out so I thought to myself "fuck" and watched it skitter across two walls of the room when my thoughts were interrupted by someone fucking with the doorknob at which point I froze. I couldn't turn the light on in the room because I had to find out who it was, and I planned on apprehending them. One of the thoughts which had to have come from the knowledge of the person I was in and not myself, was that I was supposed to be out somewhere else that night which meant that whoever was breaking in knew my schedule, which made it all the more important that I catch them. My dream ended there because I was awoken by some of my things falling off a shelf next to my bed.

This dream was really out of the ordinary, because usually I dream as myself and its just wish fulfillment. In fact earlier this night I had to wake up to pee, and the dream before that was me flirting and holding hands with a pretty girl. I don't know who this person was, but I hope they're ok.

I'd like an analysis on these dreams, if you guys don't mind. Or direct me to a board that can help.

The first dream:

>Standing by a river, gently flowing through an open field.

>I look around me, and see a large castle a far distance in front of me.

>At first I feel in awe of the castle, then I feel sickened by what lives inside the castle.

>As I look at it, I feel a hand on my shoulder.

>Turning around I see this being of immense beauty. I'm not gay or anything like that, but I honestly felt love towards this guy.

>Can't say for sure how tall he was, but he had golden hair that shone like the sun.

>Tells me that the city will burn, I say that I want to follow him.

>Says no, and that I must take the back roads.

The dream ended there, and I awoke. I told a person I went to school with about the dream and he said something about how I'm being targeted by demons he's summoned in his warlock training and I must leave everything in his hands.

Dream Two:

>I am wondering around in the dark, and a blinding light overwhelms me.

>As my vision is restored I find myself sitting at a long wooden table.

>Men (or maybe women, dont' know) are sitting around dressed in brown robes.

>Behind each of them is another robed person standing.

>Can't hear too much, but I do hear someone say "Don't trust him, he lies to you."

>See the person they're talking about.

And that was the end of the second dream. I was working on writing something for work at the time, and I saw "He lies to you" scribbled on the piece of paper.

Third Dream:

>Late at night, nearly two in the morning.

>Outside, forced to stop two people from digging this early in the morning.

>As I approach the first hole I see the person that was called a liar.

>I tell him to stop and kick some dirt on him.

>I wake up as the guy from the other hole grabs me from behind.

first dream.

on the surface it sounds clear.

the Castle up ahead is the future, you fear it, whatever it is.

the hero arrives and he represents all you admire/love. he offers to go with you to fade the fear the future and conquer/destroy it.

you refuse, saying you will take the back roads, avoiding any great challenge and just taking the easy/quiet route through life, staying as you are.

maybe the hero represents you, what you could become, what you want to become but are currently afraid.

he wants to go with you to face the future, a more challenging but rewarding future where you confront and overcome your fears.

maybe you should go with him. become him.

face that castle with the same confidence that he has.

fear shouldn't push you away always, sometimes you should be brave and trust in yourself that you have the strength to defeat it and continue on your journey through it and past it.

in waking life, you can begin building your confidence by exercising every day and building up your physical strength.

it will change how you perceive yourself to some extents, but more importantly, it will show you that you can accomplish something difficult, that you can conquer yourself, your body.

for me, when I became strong, I don't mean arnold level, but athletic, my dreams would often have me with even greater strength, and poweful arms, pullling me up scaling walls and trees with ease and confidence.

face your fears in life, take risks, because life is risks, and fears are usually more in your mind and you stopping yourself, rather than anything else.

try taking up a slightly risky hobby or activity, not gambling, something which relies on your skill.

a sport or something.

take calculated risks regularly, practise facing your fears.

be careful, because now he knows you are aware of him, he may come for you.

or, no. don't worry about it, I've dreamt a lot of being other people or not present.

I dream mostly of being myself though.

maybe improve your apartment's security for your unconscious peace of mind. no harm in doing so.

perhaps your brain thinks backwards more because it isn't content with the present.

some general advice based on my own experiences of several years with repeitive themes in dreams.

1. actively think positively during the day.

turn passive negative thoughts into positive ones.

"I will never finish this -> if I keep at it, I will finish it and do it well"

with consistent practice, it will affect your perception and give you a clearer vision of things over time. the conscious mind has effect over the unconscious.

2. don't dwell on your dreams. tell one person briefly or write them down briefly, then don't replay them.

instead, think of how you could resolve the problem in each dream, then visualise doing it in the dream with all your imagination.

so either by turning your body to be as hard as steel, or by walking through a wall and landing on a beautiful warm beach with good friends. any positive resolution.

do this every time, and over time it will improve your ability to resolve problems in dreams while asleep too.

the machete was a good start, actively dealing with your problem, but don't take his shoulder and walk with him after.

instead, say "look, you are defeated, go find your own way, this is my way".

or throw him out of the bar and then sit down and have some food and a chat with the barman.

or push him into a corner of the bar, tell him to get a grip, and then leave the bar and go sightseeing or find something more fun to do.

it might takes months of this before you realise things have improved. it's good though.

To be quite frank, you're caught. You can feel it leaking through the dream and into your life, there is something surrounding you and those around you. It doesn't matter where you turn, or where you try to hide. You can feel the guilt from something done years ago, something that should be long forgotten get in the way of friends and family. The puzzles then are you trying to reason with yourself. You're struggling and out running it, when you should turn and face the unknown without fear.
