It depends on what you mean by 'paranormal'. If you mean magic, then all you need is disbelief. Magic only works on those who believe in it. Most paranormal creatures won't be able to harm you so long as you stay inside your house. To avoid sleep paralysis, avoid thinking about it, and sleep on your side. To keep the fairies away, use iron. They're terrified of it for some reason.

This tbh

In general just learn banishing rituals and proper visualization for them. Have a protective magic circle from my notes, I got this from Psychic Self Defense.

Face east

Qabalistic Cross

Touch fore head

"to thee O god"

Touch solar plexus

"Be the Kingdom"

Touching right shoulder

"And the power"

Touching Left shoulder

"and the glory"

clasping hands

"unto the ages of the ages. Amen"

Next imagine grasping a large cross-handled sword, in right hand holding point upwards

"In the name of God I take in hand the Sword of Power for defence against evil and agression"

Imagining yourself towering 2x taller chainmiled and vibrating with the power of god (sword of power)

Draw a circle upon the floor with the point of the sword, imagine it being made in golden flames around you

draw deosil(from east to soust to west to north)

Stop the visualization of the sword but continue visualization of the circle

Clasps hands in prayer rasing them above head towards east

"May the mighty archangel Raphael protect me from all evil approaching from the east"

Turning south

"May the mighty archangel Gabriel protect me from all evil approaching from the south"

turning west

"May the mighty archangel Michael protect me from all evil approaching from the west"

turning north

"May the mighty archangel Uriel protect me from all evil approaching from the north"

Turn east and repeat Qabalistic Cross

note: oppisite is widdershins from deosil, deosil affirms gods power widdershins goes against gods power

>Weapons…

A popular weapon against witches, wind demons, elves and other things in pre enlightenment Germany were the so called "Hexenmesser/Drudenmesser"(Witchknife).

Some of them are just simply knifes used for every day tasks, others are expensive and decorated with silver, many have INRI carved somewhere on the knife, some feature the pentagram and/or drudengatter and other symbols, but the one combining feature all these blades have is the nine X and nine C on one side of the blade.

How or why the nine C and nine X work against evil entities nobody knows anymore, sometimes the nine X are called crosses or stars and the nine C are always called moons. Common says back then were that "Neun Kreuz und neun Stern halten alles Übel fern”(Nine Crosses and nine Stars keep all Evil away) or "Neun Stearn und neun Mun greifen alle Teufel un!"(Nine Stars and nine Moons attack all Devils).

The knife works like a charm against witches, demons, elves and other evil entities simply by wearing it, but can also protect a house by ramming it in the door or the roof beams. However if that doesn't work, there is also the obvious solution and using that knife to kill the evil entity simply by throwing the knife at them.

Alternative make a club from buckthorn wood that is said to have similar characteristics against the power of evil magic user and entities.

>Tactics against the Paranormal

One thing to think about when you are out in the woods and fear being stalked by the paranormal or animals is fire.

Fire is humanities oldest and most successful tool to keep away the dark and everything that lurks in it.

However if you have read stories about the paranormal out in nature there is a common mistake that shows up time and time again and that is that people just make one campfire and then sit at the outside of it, ready to be snatched away from it.

What they should have done is make more than one camp fire and placing themselves between the fires, that way the fire blocks most directions from which a potentially attacker could come and no beast would dare trying to snatch a human from between fires.

It is said that a whole boatload of paranormal critters can be slain with silver or that skinwalkers can be killed using white ash. However the application of these tools always leaves something to be desired, silver bullets are terrible projectiles as can be read here:

http //www.patriciabriggs.com/articles/silver/silverbullets.shtml

And all the weird herbs, woods and powders to slay special critters are almost impossible to use as a range weapon. But there is one simple solution to this problem, the 12 gauge shotgun shell

People have put almost everything inside them and shot successful, even wood and stones and it is much easier to get scraps or pellets of silver and load them into a 12 gauge shotgun shell than it is to cast a silver bullet.

Even if the silver, wood or whatever you put into the shell turns out to be useless, shot out of a 12 gauge shotgun almost everything is deadly at close range.

Claiming that the silver from a crucifix only works or that its more effective because its sacred or the working of god would be an example of sympathetic magic.

I try to avoid giving advices about sympathetic magic, because the logic behind it is often heavily bound to culture and nature doesn't tend to care about culture.

The problem with salt is that it's "garlic level", stuff that got its spirit banning claim from the fact that it either works as a preservative for food or it kept the bugs away.

Buy a good book about herbs and you find that half the stuff in your kitchen was once said in older times to have the ability to scare away spirits, witches and the devil.

The stuff becomes interesting if one wants to plant a garden to protect a house and knowing the properties and abilities of plants is valuable knowledge for preppers and anyone who goes into the woods, but if you really get into contact with something hostile and paranormal do you want to bet your life on some dried plants and minerals in your hand? If so I can write more about them.

Alchemical Salt is purely theoretical, much the same as alchemical Mercury and Sulfur. They don't refer to actual mercury and sulfur, but properties of matter.

Though there are several kinds of salts. For magical purposes, I've mostly heard people recommend sea salt. Which is essentially the same molecule as table salt, but a certain variant, obviously.

It is kinda both in the sense that there is a physical representation. For instance, in Spagyrics you break down the herb you are working with into its organic salts (Salt/Body), essential oil (Sulphur/Soul), and alcohol (Mercury/Spirit…hence the traditional name for wine and liquor 'spirits'). When you move onto the mineral work you are doing the exact same thing. Breaking it down into the three essentials, then purify, next recombine ie Solve et Coagula.

Or if you are a roman catholic(for whatever reason one wanted to be one today), you could create your own Breverl.

Breverl(from latin breve "little letter/script") are from South Germany and were used from the medieval period until modern times and are basically the european christian equivalent of a medicinal/mojo bag. They were created to protect the owner from demons, demonic possession, sickness, storms and some people even claimed they could protect soldiers from bullets.

To create one you first need some images of saints or a bible verse/prayer, they were usually copper engravings and folded 9 times.

Then the center of the 9 times folded paper is richly filled with votive offerings like the saint Benedict medal, saint Georg medal, saint Sebastian arrow, saint Nepomuk tongue, Ex Voto or the sacred heart of Jesus, but also stuff like scrap figures of Madonna, catkin(from Palm Sunday),

coral, Agnus Dei wax and other stuff of holy nature.

The whole thing is then put into a richly decorated little pillow and sewn shut, the little pillow was then worn either around the neck, at the rosay or sew into the clothes.

The protestant North German answer to the Breverl is the Himmelsbrief(Heaven's letter), which to my knowledge is a custom that even made it to the USA thanks to the Pennsylvania Dutch.

Himmelsbriefe are basically a meme that predate the Internet, they are chain letters claimed to be send from heaven and whoever makes a copy of them is protected against all kinds of evil, as long as he follows a honest (protestant) christian live as instructed by the letter.

Prior to the coming of Christianity to the West; the West supposedly was abound with all manner of demon, monster and paranormal creature. There are numerous tales pre-dating Christianity of struggles with dragons and giants, and a fair few after it first arose; the difference is that there once it came to prominence there is little that happened after. Now there could be many reasons for why this is - but the obvious one appears to be that since Christianity came along, everything else went away (or else was genocided).

Even today the only corners of the Christian (or at least recently Christian) world that are seen as 'spooky' are those places where Christianity does not, or did not hold full sway. The voodoo-perverted Christian traditions of Mexicans, the Saracen-stained lands of Spain, the heathenry of Native American lands not fully inhabited nor explored by the Christian, and the God-forsaken continent of Australia. Where Christianity flourished the monsters seem to have been held back - where it did not fully take root is where we today consider to be 'spooky', and where it is not at all (places like Indonesia, the Congo and Saudi Arabia) there is such obsessive superstition and constant tales of spirits and monsters that it is simply taken, by those people, as a fact of life.

Now whether it is due to Christian white men killing everything, their belief in God holding back the tides of darkness, or simply the fact that they do not believe in those monsters - I cannot say. It is however worth noting that the Christian faith seems to be the constant that removes monsters from every day life.

I sort of agree with you, but I think it has more to do with population density, modernity and the history of a particular area. For example, belief in the fairy folk survived in Britain well into recent times, regardless of the fact that Christianity had been the official religion for centuries; what killed it was urbanisation and the modern rationalist doctrine. Scandinavian people kept believing in trolls long after the last troll had been killed. The 'demons' of yesterday still exist, but we call them aliens now. The phenomenon itself hasn't changed, what changed is the cultural perception of it.

Most monsters were probably killed because they were considered too dangerous or simply for sport. See this thread about ancient dragons in India, especially these two posts >>28782 and >>28784

Clearly written by someone with no knowledge about European folklore, Europe was ripe with tales of monsters even after christianity became the state religion of almost every country in Europe.

What ended the tales of monsters was not christianity killing the monsters, but the Age of Enlightenment dispelling the myths around them.

Christianity as a whole also didn't reduce the number of paranormal creatures, but they brought their own from the middle east and added them to the list.

>Even today the only corners of the Christian (or at least recently Christian) world that are seen as 'spooky' are those places where Christianity does not, or did not hold full sway.

Also untrue, for example the USA today has more urban legends about paranormal creatures than any country in Europe. The reason for that is the type of protestantism that immigrated from Europe to America in the 18th century.

Anti enlightenment clerics during that time had a hard on for ghost and demon stories, because if they could proof that ghost and demon exist it would justify their faith and make it immune against criticism.

Iron (as in wrought iron) that has been magnetized is said to kill Djinn according to more than one Arabic grimoire I've seen. Meteoric iron is said to injure demons. Iron dust is said to destabilize ghosts and evil spirits for a time, preventing them from interacting in a physical way. Damigeron's De virtutibus lapidum, or the Virtue of Stones mentions several gems that adversely affect demons and evil spirits, nullify witchcraft, etc.

A friendly /k/ommando's advice…

Shoot it until it dies. Preferably with napalm shotgun shells. You're guaranteed to kill something, possibly a couple thousand acres of forest and anything that lives in it by causing a forest fire.

It's bizarre to hear that. Spiritual beings are, from how I always thought of them, separated from the physical in almost everyway. While the two may interact, to actually kill a djinn with magnets is not something I would expect to hear. Iron is generally viewed as being non-magical, even absorbing energy, which could derive from Arabic sources. You made me look up Arabic grimoires though and it looked a bit interesting for being in a language I don't understand.

The Djinn occupy a weird place in occultism:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jinn

https://www.llewellyn.com/journal/article/2182

One source will claim they are non-corporeal, then another will tell of Djinn breeding with humans.

In the Euro tradition, wrought iron in general (and meteoric iron in particular) has a long history of repelling or harming demons.

There are Arabic books translated into English (and other Euro languages).

Lesser banishment ritual of whatever shape is suitable for your religion;

Qabalistic Cross, sometimes repeated at the end of the LBRP. This is meant to construct an astral cross in the body of the magician, with points corresponding to Sephiroth on the Tree of life. While constructing this cross, the magician vibrates Hebrew words from the last few lines of the Lord's Kingdom (Thine is the kingdom, etc.). Formulation of the Pentagrams, in which a banishing earth pentagram (for the Banishing Ritual) or an invoking pentagram (for the Invoking Ritual) is drawn in the air at each of the four cardinal points and an associated name of God is vibrated (YHVH, ADNI, AHIH and AGLA for East, South, West and North respectively). This segment of the ritual is meant to banish or invoke the four elements (Air, Fire, Water and Earth respectively). The four pentagrams are connected by a circle, also drawn in the air. Invocation of the Archangels, during which the magician declares the Archangels Raphael, Gabriel, Michael and Uriel(or Auriel) to be present, while visualizing them at the four cardinal points.

Some traditions, in order to distance themselves from the Judeo-Christian content of the ritual, replace the Qabalistic Cross, names of God and archangels with suitable substitutes; using, for example, the chakra system instead of the Tree of life, mantras instead of God names, etc. Magicians practising Thelemic magick will often intone the name Aiwass at the heart while performing the Qabalistic cross, as reinforcing their commitment to the presiding intelligence of Liber Al.

Under attack by some horrible hell beast you put very little thought into summoning?

Greys, reptilians, nordics, and other extraterrestrial scourges hovering over your roof in active camo fields and beaming the d e s p a i r code straight into your noggin?

Cursed? Hexed? Possessed? Downright infested?

Here's a step by step, tried and true method of defending your mind and soul from immaterial threats!

Ready?

CHANT.

Abrahamic types have continuous prayer cycles, hindus and buddhists and whatever all do mantras, focusing on words of power and protection and repeating them are so damn tried and true it's almost like PROMETHEUS gave it to us or some nonsense!

Chanting out loud getting boring? Stop being a pussy and monk through that shit. Train your willpower against it. You can resist anything if you have willpower. This is something you can do in your head.

WHAT'S THE MOST HOLY, PROTECTIVE, EMPOWERING SENTENCE YOU CAN SAY?

SAY IT A THOUSAND TIMES.

Say it as slowly as you can, drag every syllable out until saying it takes a full deep breath.

Say it as fast as you can, test the limits of how fast you can imagine saying it. This is a good way of snapping out of something. Any tendrils wriggling around and through your noggin will fly off, like water off a rapidly spinning wheel.

Let's say you're mr skeptic, don't believe in no stinkin faeries or illuminati insanity beams getting jacked up in your non-existent soul.

Repeating a holy, protective, empowering message to yourself will probably make it a part of you or some poetic flowery bullshit.

Shit man, wanna look like a cool spiritual weirdo and have a totem/object/talisman/relic/fukken thing? Get some prayer beads and look all badass like you know shit.

Try saying a long protective prayer or adoration of some deity in private without telling anybody ever.

HOLY SHIT IT'S LIKE THE EGYPTIAN GOD OF WRITING AND FUCKING WOOOORDS WAS ALSO THE GOD OF MAGIC

Not like you'll find references to the power of words packed with a fuckton of meaning in cultures across the goddamned planet, some of which had zero contact with each other for fucking millennia.

I am but a man. But my lord gives me the strength to combat negative entities.

I operate solely from faith (sort of like ISIS but not as insane, or edgy)

I am with faith - I ask and god provides, i do not ask for myself, but to show mankind his love. I do not know if this is YHWH - or Snoop Godd - but my faith is my weapon.

If you need weapons or armor you've lost. Protect your kin with Faith.
